Two men throw Crimson onto a metal floor, and then kick him in the head. One of the men then grabs his head and lifts it up. "Is this the one, boss?" Dr. Malcolm Betruger comes into Crimson sight from the left.
Name: Dr. Malcolm Betruger
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 83? (He has thehealth of a 20 year old man)
Height: 5'5
Bio: Dr. Malcolm Betruger, Ph.D., M.D., was born in the city of Cologne, Germany. His family moved to the U.S. when he was very young in order for him to receive a prime education. He excelled in high school, and as accepted into Brown University, where he received Doctoral degrees in both medicine and science, and both times graduating at the top of his class. He had a fascination with the human body, and noticed how many human traits lacked that of other creatures. He then published a book when in his mid 30's called "The Inferior Human Body." It gained a very positive reception amongst other scientists in his field, and it didn't take long for the military to catch eye of it.
Betruger was then approached by G.U.N. and the Union Aerospace Corporation (U.A.C.), who offered him a contract to work under them, with fully sufficient funding and equipment, in a new program dedicated solely to improving the human bodies capabilities by experimenting on other species. Knowing that the experiments must be extremely covert,a research facility was built in Northern Alaska for Betruger to carry them out. For years, recurrent failures and setbacks plagued Betruger's operations, forcinghim to resort to more desperate measures. The U.A.C. let several otherbusiness and technology conglomerates in on the program unde the nose of G.U.N. in exchange for more financial support. These companies also branched off several experiments of their own, all of which were indirectly headed by Betruger.
Betruger also began to illegally experiment on humans and other creatures, and would put them through gruelling, and often fatal tests. Yet still, Betruger's experiments were leading into dead ends, bringing him to the brink of insanity. He even gauged out one ofhis eyes out after a particularly blowing failure. One day, a smaller facility in Nevada was caught by G.U.N. inspectors performing illegal operations, and all U.A.C. held areas and facilities were to be apprehended by the government. In order to save the U.A.C.'s potential reputation, the entire Northern Alaskan research facility was ordered to be scorched. Piles of documents and dead reasearch bodies were literally crammed into areas such as storage closets and pits, and lit aflame. Betruger's work was completely ruined. When Government forces arrived shortly later, however,Betruger and several other scientists managed to escape somehow.
The U.A.C. was shut down, and all of it's facilities either demolished or abondoned and put under military surveillance. The Northern Alaskan facility was spared from being blown up, possibly due to it's sheer size and G.U.N.'s unwillingness to commit much effort and money into the operation.
It is unknown what hapenned in Betruger's life for the next several years, but is known that he grew an intense hatred for all of humanity and all of the world's creatures. He also began a new plan to wipe out the entire world population and create a new race, one that he dubbed "perfect."
His next known operations were during the Civil War of Soleanna, where, with some connections with high-ranking G.U.N. officials, was able to conduct sickening experiments on the population. When one such experiment was to be carried out by a young, yet extremely talented General, Crimson the Cardinal, the experiments were nearly exposed, as Crimson refused to carry them out. Betruger's contacts, who happened to be Crimson superiors, stood in and carried them out instead, ad had Crimson courtmartialed. The two have a divine hatred for each other, as one seems to get in the way of the others life or plans, yet Betruger takes much interest in Crimson's tactical mind.
Abilities: Despite Betruger's age, he has sufficient stamina and also carries several unique abilities, such as the ability to teleport. It is believed that he attained these through experimenting on himself.
Personality: Betruger is known for his very sick sense of humor. He often hurts or even kills his colleagues for no apparent reason, leading many to believe he is a sadist.
Appearance: He is a short, bald old man with a glass eye. He typically wears a lab coat and khaki pants.
Weaknesses: His only immediate shortcoming is that he is a weak strategist, which accounts for many of his failures in recent operations, such as an attempt to capture Station Square, which started off perfectly but failed when superior G.U.N. tacticians surrounded Betruger's attack force in the middle of the city through a series of well executed pincer moves, as well as the fact that Eggman launched an attack on the city shortly after Betruger's, forcing his men to deal with both them and G.U.N. Betruger's lack of strategy may also account for his interest in Crimson.
