There goes the 'superstar treatment'... You can't consistently elbow people in the head and just say it's an accident every time, and even if it is he still deserves a foul for it. You know what really was an accident? Perkins hand slipping off a sweaty arm and tapping the guy behind him with his elbow, yet thats a technical foul? You can't even begin to argue that those calls are right. A real accidental elbow verse Howard giving people concussions, ones a tech the other is always ignored? give me a break.

Well if you know they get all cocky and douchy when they win, then why are you a Celtics fan? Heck Ive known since 2008 they were cocky...............
How could anyone be a fan too team that cocky? They don't even try to hide it. Its one thing to celebrate wins and cheer your teammates on but this current Celtics team is just flat out mean, with all their getting in peoples faces, talking back to fans, complaining about every foul, getting technicals almost every game, pushing around other players.
I would never support someone (or in this case a team) like that. Doing all that just makes you come off as a low-class person with a dirty personality. Id rather be known for being a respectful player who plays a good game without being a jerk to everyone else.
Well I guess you don't watch the rest of the NBA, because the whole NBA is like that. I think they have been pretty humble. I just think you are seeing a series where both teams hate eachother and when Pierce said what he said he was fired up after getting drilled like he did from Howard. He answered back by playing really well. I suggest you don't watch the rest of the NBA then if you don't feel you can support a cocky team or especially one that talks smack. lolNo the Celtics are the worse. Its not just season either. Glen Davis was fined earlier this season for cussing a fan and didnt know til a few months ago Paul Pierce spit at/on anothers teams bench once. Is that just the usual cocky smack-talk players do? No.
Ya w/ Paul Pierce that was a claim not an actual spitting incident that I remember. It was against the Cavs when he got into a yelling match with Lebron. If you have footage of him actually spitting or any evidence supporting as such I wiould like to see them. Secondly Big deal an immature Davis cussed at a fan. Wow you are acting like the whole team is doing it.Yeah not only does Dwight injure just as many of his own players, but most of the time it's the fault of those getting elbowed. Oh so Dwight is going up to the rim and I'm standing right under him? Yeah of course nothing bad will happen. It's not like he's intentionally throwing elbows into guys. FL_LloydPlease when you are delibrately bring down your elbow in the fashion he does when someone is near him that is dirty. Don't give me this garbage that its the other players fault. :|
Please when you are delibrately bring down your elbow in the fashion he does when someone is near him that is dirty. Don't give me this garbage that its the other players fault. :|xscrapzxSo he deliberately does this to his own players too? He is a bad guy, I'ma jump on the bandwagon.

Howard doesn't elbow someone EVERY single possession, and the couple times he does, there's no evidence to say it was intentional. Here is a crazy idea, but Howard tends to be the most active player near the hoop where most contact tends to occur. Factor in his relative size and it may not be that he's just a horrible guy.
[QUOTE="andyboiii"][QUOTE="xscrapzx"]Really? They haven't even started the second half yet. A lot can change quickly in a NBA game. Taking one of the Celtics best defenders out on a call like that is huge and rediculous.xscrapzxhe did nothing to limit howard in the 1st half what makes you think he was going to save the Celtics in the 2nd half? Howard is on his game tonight You know players do have good halfs and adjustments are made to counter that. Its called coaching. No coincidence that Glen Davous, the guy good at defending Howard gets tossed, and then Howard knocks out the other big guy defending him, and the NBA does nothing. Big Baby is cleared to play tonight, I hope he cetches Howards jaw with an elbow, i'm sure he'll get tossed and suspended because his name isn't as big, but someone needs to hit him back.

Big Baby is cleared to play tonight, I hope he cetches Howards jaw with an elbowfastrAnd in the end this is what separates us. I'll never blast a player for something I merely 'think' is intentional, and then wish for him to be injured.
You mean two calls by the same officials in the same game? no.. they could NEVER have anything to do with each other, right?fastrCompletely dismissed the idea that he might just be the most active guy in the paint. We obviously have very different viewpoints.

Rajon Rondo clotheslines Brad Miller
Rajon Rondo throws Hinrich into scorer's table
KG cheap shot on Bellinelli #1
KG cheap shot on Bellinelli #2
KG elbows Lamarcus Aldridge
KG hits Bogut in the face
KG hits Joakim Noah in face then throws an elbow at midsection
KG cheap shot on Zaza
and people get upset about Dwight Howard
I'm pretty sure KG's hit on Andrew Bogut is the only one of these that actually garnered a suspension so the whole argument about the league giving a free pass to Dwight just flew right out the window...
ps.
Shaq's elbows have connected on substantially more players than Dwight's as well. Where's the hooplah about him? Every big man in the NBA has given and received elbow shots, it just goes along with playing in the paint.
Shaq elbows Amare in face
Shaq elbows Mutombo in face
Shaq elbows Korver in face
Shaq takes intentional elbow swing at Andrew Bynum
Shaq elbows Perkins in the head
[QUOTE="fastr"]There is a differences between physical and dirty. But you can't blame Howard, the NBA has given him a free pass to elbow anyone anytime, so whats he care?Orlando_Magic
How is Dwight Howard dirty when he injures his own teammates the exact same with in practice. Just look at these.

It's pretty obvious that Dwight isn't trying to hurt his teammates on purpose...
Dwight has lost his cool a couple times in the past (elbow to Dalembert in the playoffs last year, and he also elbowed Gasol a few years ago) but the stuff that has been happening this series is more inadvertent than anything.
Dwight is like the nicest and coolest guy in the NBA! These examples of him inadvertently injuring his teammates shows that his elbows aren't intentional.
It's kind of like Mutombo although Dwight is more athletic. Mutombo was also one of the nicest guys in the NBA and I'm sure he wouldn't hurt anyone on purpose.
When your that strong, tall, and full of energy and adrenaline, I'm sure anything can happen. Especially when Howard is fighting for boards and jumping for every lob or rebound. Someone's bound to get hammered once in awhile.

Dwight has also clobbered Josh Smith before and both of them are close friends that grew up together in Atlanta. Clearly not on purpose.
Anyone who has played basketball has accidentally hit or elbowed a friend before, even if its just a local pickup game at the park... and none of us are as big as Dwight Howard and none of us jump as high as Dwight Howard either. Heck, the first thing kids are taught to do while rebounding the ball is to have your elbows out so that no one will stick their head in there and try to poke the ball away. Getting hit is just a part of basketball. Dwight has taken his fair share of hits to the head over the years as well.

Remember when Shaq said he's playing football? Dwight's the next Shaq and has taken that torch. What I mean is he's the next dominant big man in the league since Shaq.
So Dwight gets hits every time he gets the ball in the paint. So I can understand he can get frustrated and swing his elbows around because it's like swatting annoying flies swarming over him.
Like I said, Dwight's the nicest guy in the NBA and I'm sure he wouldn't intentionally injure somebody.
Nate was always fun to watch when he was with NY because of D'Antoni's offense. It's funny watching him now though because everything that made him great in NY could no longer be done when he went to Boston. Now he's lighting it up like he used to and everyone is shocked but it's not like he hasn't done this before. He's very much like Jamal Crawford, streaky shooter but a great guy to have off your bench. andyboiii
Word. And the funny thing was the he was by far the Knicks best scorer but D'Antoni benched him lol. He averaged over 17ppg for the Knicks two year ago in less than 30 minutes. He reminds me of a shorter Ben Gordon more than Jamal Crawford because he's a lot more explosive, except Gordon is a better shooter.
im so happy
the thought of the celtics blowing this series haunted me for like 4-5 days and it killed me
Hope the Lakers get by Phoenix, I've waited 2 years for a re-match!

Me too, me too, I also waited for the Phoenix match up from four years ago, I was only boiled about 06 series :) The feeling isnt the same, cause I know this isnt the same Suns, and this aint the Scrub Lakers with Kwa-may Brownn.
After Celtics wentdown last year I thought that was it, the only chance for revenge is gone, but the dream became true again once they tookover the Cavs series I was psyched. This is gonna be a good finals.
Lol, Nate pulled through for C's tonight nice.

Yeah it's gotta happen....L.A.vs Boston, hope Phoenix cooperates!:D
Gotta say this...Vince Carter! I know he played "better" this game...but he sucked big time in the series, geez !!! Like many, I always thought of him as soft but, man he was terrible. What kills me is seing him smiling on the floor (this game) and other games while on the bench, while he and his team is getting beat down!
Pierce killed him!

yea, him and lewis just bombed this series
Since Dwight Howard is my favorite player I wanted Orlando to win. But I have to admit the Celtics are the better team.
When you think about it, it makes sense. Celtics have three certified hall of famers and one potential HoF'er in Rondo. Orlando has only one likely HoF'er in Howard and one potential one with Nelson. And judging by the last poll thread I made, a lot of us don't think Carter is a HoF player.
I think it was Mike Wilbon who said after the Cavs game that after LeBron, who was the best player in the series, the next best players are the big three and Rondo. Likewise in this series, who is the best player? It's arguably Dwight Howard but he's definitely not a LeBron. So Celtics had the upper hand all along.
I'm also worried about the Lakers if they play in the finals. Unlike the Jazz and the Suns, the Celtics have four 7 foot defensive monsters who can take on Odom, Gasol, and Bynum. Bynum is banged up and Odom is hit or miss. Gasol can definitely beat the Celtics bigs IF he goes one-on-one since he's a finesse player. But it'd be extremely difficult for him to go up against Perkins, Big Baby, Rasheed, and even KG every game.
It's going to be tough for the Lakers, but I think the key will be Ron Artest. He's going to guard Paul Pierce and will take the pressure off Kobe from two years ago when he had to go up against him. This could leave Kobe open to go to work and you know Ray Allen can't guard Kobe and the Mamba will shut Allen down.
But...Celtics have Rondo and I wonder who can keep him in check from the Lakers? I think Farmar has to play his best and I think he's the only one who can keep up with Rondo's speed. Shannon Brown can also help of course since he's athletic.
We'll see.
It's going to be intense!
Dwayne Wade, CHECK LeBron James, CHECK Dwight Howard, CHECK Kobe, I love you, but your next.Mister__Awesome
Kevin Durant, CHECK
Deron Williams, CHECK
Steve Nash, CHECK
Carlos Boozer, CHECK
Amare Stoudamire, CHECK
Whos next? Pierce, Garnett, Rondo, Allen......
^Hes gonna take down the Big 3 singlehandely with his dagger.

Ya...no.
Thats the beauty of Boston. In the entire series against Orlando it was never the same person twice who led them in scoring. They have so many weapons to pick from and now they have actually developed a respectable bench.
