Man this series is so frusterating. Bruins can't score at all.

I said to my brother and a couple friends after we watched Game 1 that I think Holtby could steal them the series. I said he could be this years Jaroslav Halak...come out of no where, and just shut down one of the favorites. Not saying he'll go 3 rounds...but he looks excellent in net.Man this series is so frusterating. Bruins can't score at all.

Doesn't matter. When the offense gets 3 goals the defense makes up for it and crumbles.Well, I take that back. Two quick one.

Rangers/Sens is the anti Flyers/Penguins series... as the goalies have been putting on a clinic. Anderson will have stolen this series if the Sens win it. And what's very apparent is the Officials just don't know how to call a game. The hit on Hossa was impossible to miss yet there was not even a penalty called on the play. Just now in the Rangers/Sens game Mike Rupp drilled a Sens player with a sweet SHOULDER on SHOULDER hit and the guy went flying and they called a penalty. Totally clean, hard hit. And that's what has me perplexed with these refs. They just don't know the difference anymore and how to call the game properly.
edit: 3rd period Rangers/Sens... Neil just took a run from 20 feet away and hits Boyle shoulder to head like missle on a dirty hit... Boyle is laying on the ice groggy, probably has a concussion... guess what... NO CALL!!! These NHL refs just blow at the job... period. It's hard to watch it anymore to be honest.
Have two 8 seeds ever made it to round 2? It's not over yet, but defiantly a possibility. STL with 2 quick ones, lead 2-1.Yeah Ottawa just scored again so gameover.
So much for the #1 seed.

I think its sad that the Panthers are the only team who won a division in the Eastern Conference to lead a series yet they were the underdogs.
That's the playoffs for you. Blues with their first series since 2002. This team has not looked back since Hitchcock was brought in. The second round in the West could be the 'Yotes, Blues, Kings and Preds. All have a Vezina-caliber goalie. Should be a very low scoring round, a goaltending clinic.I think its sad that the Panthers are the only team who won a division in the Eastern Conference to lead a series yet they were the underdogs.

What a good day. Won myself some cash from people who thought that the Pens and Canucks would come back.
Quick was really the difference in the sereis, or just the lack of great chances by Vancouver...or both. STL-LA will be 1-0 or 2-1 every game.
And good riddence Pens.

Even though the Pens are out of the playoffs I still have other teams I like that are still in it; Which is every team still in the playoffs in the Western Conference.
I only like one team in the Eastern Conference and they are my Home Town team.
The only team I don't like in the Western Conference is already out of the playoffs.

The NHL has favored the Penguins for a long time now, since Crosby came into the league. I'm not saying that lends itself to any postseason bias, as we've learned from this series' matchup. But NHL posts it almost seems at the very least to be seven articles a day about the Penguins and Crosby-related nonsense that nobody, other than Penguins fans, cares about.[QUOTE="JohnBean42"]

Things like how many games the Penguins' season games get chosen to be nationally televised, etc. And I can't really blame the league, since Crosby sells the tickets and merchandise. But still. For this reason, almost any other fan outside of Penguins fans hate the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Now that they're good all the national press talks about how "faithful" pittsburgh fans are. What a joke.-Halftime-Yeah, that's another reason they're not very well-liked. I remember throughout the series against Philadelphia, I think it was after Pittsburgh went down 0-3 and were on the verge of being swept, after that ugly excuse for hockey in game 3, the media kept reporting on how the Penguins were doing poorly because of too high expectations and goaltending, and while I agree goaltending was a central issue in the series, at least SOME credit could've been given for how handily the Flyers controlled those games. At least a little bit of credit.
Anyone watch the Rangers/Sens game? How was the last Sens goal allowed by the morons in Toronto? Chris Neil for one is totally in the crease... and totally kicked the puck in with a distinct kicking motion. I thought I knew the rules... but I question that more and more watching these games. It really makes you think something shady is going on in Toronto... and even with the shaky judgements on the suspensions.
And it's amazing that the same Mike Smith who couldn't stop a beach ball in goal for Tampa is playing spectacular for the Coyotes.
I don't hate the Pens. I like Evgeni Malkin a lot(He's probly my favorite hockey player). But, I live around Pittsburgh. I'm a casual observer of Hockey so I don't have a team. What I find funny about the Pens fans and Pittsburgh is that a few years ago, this team was on the verge of being sold. No one went to the games, and no one cared. Now that they're good all the national press talks about how "faithful" pittsburgh fans are. What a joke.-Halftime-Me and John here are the delusional Leafs fans, we need something to make us feel good. As Steve Dangle said, because of how this season ended, there are probably people that have forever said "I'm not cheering for them anymore." Can't say I blame them.
The only morons in Toronto are Sens fans. So that would make sense that they called it like that. /joke But yeah, that game was horribly officiated, but please send them off for their bow on Broadway next game, please?Anyone watch the Rangers/Sens game? What's really alarming with the NHL is just how bad the Officiating has gotten in general. These guys are easily the worst in Pro Sports by a wide margin now. Forget if Neil even kicked the puck in or not.... before that he took his stick and shoved it into Lundqvist's mid section and pushed him out of the crease with it before the goal was scored!!! Once a goalie is interfered with and an opponent in the crease prohibits the goalies ability to move and make a save it's a penalty plain and simple. When are these refs going to get a clue as to what they are watching and looking at out there? It's mind boggling this level of ref ineptness.ohjtbehaaaveSometimes I feel the NHL is trying to assist teams they want to have deep playoff runs. Such as the Yotes and Predators. I have to give a thumps up to the refs in the Caps-Bruins series, they haven't been nearly as bad as the other.

I felt it could have gone either way. Neil pushed him with the stick, so that's GI. But I didn't actually see him touch the puck with the skate, and I've looked at it a lot. Since it was a goal on the ice, they need conclusive evidence for no goal. And my understanding is even if there was GI, they can't overrule a goal because of it. If it wasn't called on the ice, they can't change it. They were only looking at the kick. I'm not sure about being in the crease rule anymore though. And about Smith, one name: Sean Burke. Completely changed him for the better. Vezina finalists are Lundqvist, Quck, and Rinne. Not surprising, but I would have voted Smith over Rinne. But Rinne had 72 starts with amazing stats, so I'm okay with it. Two horse race IMO. Quick will win it over Lundqvist. He's the reason the Kings are in the playoffs..kinda lke Smith.
Best game of the series so far. The 3rd Period was just wow.Game 7 and OT. Whoever wins this series will win by 1 goal.
