What is frustrating you guys? Im from New England so I don't get a chance at viewing any of your games. Is it that the Leafs are playing up to potential? Almost half way through the season and you guys have the last playoff spot. Swanogt19For me, it's cause they've looked so good, but this month has been frustrated. Terrible PK, Reimer hasn't been any good, and other things on-ice that shoot ourselves in the foot.

Yeah, but we don't want to see the inevitable slip that's happened for the past 7 goddam years. A lot of us have high expectations (not President's Trophy calibre obviously) of this team this season, we're sick of not seeing playoffs here. Wilson doesn't seem to give a damn of instilling a winning culture in the team and is probably the most passive coach I've seen in game outside of tonight.
Burke was pissed as hell after that fifth goal, but there is nothing anyone can do about tonight. The PK actually held off Vancouver both times tonight and Monster was hands down the best player. If it wasn't for him that game wouldn't have been as close as it was. But yeah, wosrt PK in the league, a defense that's terrible at knowing when to pinch and the rest is history.
Also seems like this thread is posted in by me, you, johnbean, sherman and los, may as well rename it the Northeast Division Discussion Thread.

Random thought: I wonder how Raycroft, a 37-win goalie for us, would perform with a better D than he had then. He hasn't played bad for Dallas or Vancouver last year. Still a terrible trade.

I actually didn't have much expectations for them, for a few reasons...didn't think there were any major changes from last year, I was not hyped up on Reimer and our goalies, and our offensive issues from last year hadn't really been addressed...same personnel and whatnot. So I should be happy:P And love the name change:P[QUOTE="Swanogt19"]What is frustrating you guys? Im from New England so I don't get a chance at viewing any of your games. Done. :P I was wondering why the name changed...might ruffle the feathers of our other fans on the Spot. So how about the Habs firing Jacques Martin? Wonder if the Sabres, Lindy Ruff is next after Buffalo got embarrassed by Pittsburgh, 8-3[QUOTE="gameeer1"] Also seems like this thread is posted in by me, you, johnbean, sherman and los, may as well rename it the Northeast Division Discussion Thread.sherman-tank1

I suppose I should be more excited for this Yu Darvish fellow and the Jays apparently being linked to him than the Leafs currently, but I still do not know too much about baseball. Obviously this is a hockey city, but they won the WS the year I was born and then the year after, but I haven't consciously seen a championship from the big 4 leagues. :c
Too much of a hockey fan I guess.

It's mostly due to my minimal understanding of baseball, but I can enjoy it. That being said I've never played a game of ice hockey in my life, so it isn't like I'm an expert for that either. :vI suppose I should be more excited for this Yu Darvish fellow and the Jays apparently being linked to him than the Leafs currently, but I still do not know too much about baseball. Regardless it is pretty cool to see #teamunit together (For those that don't know, it is a group of Leafs and Jays players that seem to get together with each other from my understanding of it)

haha. Wait til the playoffs. Sadly there is not a lot of hockey followers/fans on GS.I just read some of the comments by users in an article about Lucic getting a hearing. I think it is safe to say I want to punch a wall right now.
[QUOTE="gameeer1"]I think that is fair ruling for Lucic. Based on the rule, I don't even think he should have gotten a game.Lučić suspended for one game. But as long as they clobber the Habs I am content.

Also, Reimer has been fantastic. Saved a goal before Frattin scored there, 28 saves after two, and one goal was BS.

F***, Colby Armstrong has a concussion. Dude can't catch a break.
Yup, no epidemic here. Keep doing what you're doing NHL.
[QUOTE="JohnBean42"]What else can the nhl do? Honestly, nothing. But they aren't even acknowledging the fact that so many concussions are happening. They have actually said "we don't have an issue, no epidemic here" Um...your best player, ROY, leading goal and leading points leader are all out. And the captain of the Flyers year is done. He actually thinks that on December 15th or whatever, that he can't play till after May. That's terrible. At least acknowledge there's a problem.F***, Colby Armstrong has a concussion. I did some rationalizing last night, and it agrees with swag's comment about Toronto performing to their potential. As I did respond by saying we do have much higher expectations, not clinching top of the conference-type, they're still doing much better than last year at this time. And hell, November this year wasn't even bad at all. It's just frustrating to see them lose like they did last night.
But it also leads me to a blog post dealing with many fans calling to fire Ron Wilson. I'm not a huge fan of him either, but he does raise the point that when he first came here he still had to deal with John Ferguson Jr. runoff.
It's merely impatience mounting right now.
They are playing above where people saw them, or playing where most did: about 8th place. I say Wilson should be fired if they aren't in the playoffs or within about...5 points at the end of January, and definitively by the ASG. No one is from JFJ anymore, this is all Burke. Burke should find the right coach to coach HIS team now.I did some rationalizing last night, and it agrees with swag's comment about Toronto performing to their potential. Article from today's Gazette regarding Cunneyworth's appointment of interim coach of Montréal:
"Dumbest: Geoff Molson is making it easier - first with his organization's meagre number of franco players and now with its choice of coach - for any reborn NHL team in Quebec City to reclaim the hearts of Quebecers outside of the Montreal region. Not a great way to sell beer."
Henry Aubin
Apparently one person thinks they need to go back to the 70s.
They're going way too far with this, he's only coached what, two games?
What happened to Optimus JB? :PX360PS3AMD05He's looked bad, but last game he returned to himself. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
