Before the game Ron Washington told his team to play like it was the World Series.:lol: Think i'm done pulling for the Rangers, what a bunch of chokers! X360PS3AMD05
[QUOTE="Master_Live"]Cano is on fire. So we are either playing the Orioles or the Rangers in the first round, dammit MLB playoffs are tough.BobblesUnless the Yanks end up losing, then they play Detroit. Ummm, if the Yanks win tonight they get the best record and play the Wild Card.

Not going to disput the Red Sox have some players fitting the description, but Valentine mishandled just about everything this season and deserved to be fired.Red Sox fire Bobby Valentine, what a bunch of spoiled brats.

I liked Francona's dig at the Boston media: "In Boston they always want to know the reasons, and if they don't know they'll just make some up".
Bob Melvin should be the no-brainer selection for AL Manager of the Year. That'd give him 2 in the last 5 years, yet teams keep avoiding him. Why? Why did Seattle fire him? Why did Arizona fire him? Why did Milwaukee not hire him (he was one of the finalists during their last hiring)? Does he secretly battle with ownership behind the scenes or something?
[QUOTE="TonyDanzaFan"]I still think that Mike Trout deserves the MVP.JML897I completely agree
Of course he deserves it, but voters are going to give the edge to the guy who's playing in October (even though the Tigers won fewer games than the Angels).

Well these are the same people who gave 13-12 Felix Henandez the Cy Young (rightfully so) so you never know. Honestly though I think the triple crown thing will give it to Cabrera[QUOTE="Oleg_Huzwog"][QUOTE="JML897"] I completely agreeJML897

CY voters haven't ever really used team record as a consideration; not like MVP voters traditionally do.
Again with the stupid Farrell to Boston talk. Only one way he goes:Jays try and extend him, if he refuses, then maybe try and move him.And we better get something great back. Not freaking Bard.

They should also go by the guy who played in September and played big. That's not Trout. For AL MVP, I'm going with Mike Trout. Ask me two years ago, and I would've said Miguel Cabrera, but since then I've come to learn just how obsolete stats like batting average, RBIs, etc are. There is a lot more about a player than just stats like that, and as a whole, Mike Trout has been a far more valuable player this year than Miguel Cabrera.

"Showalter is sending a lefthander, Joe Saunders, to the mound in Texas, which is about as far off the preferred path as you can get, particularly because Saunders is 0-6 with a 9.38 ERA against the Rangers in Arlington".
"Texas has the second best record in the league when it faces a lefthanded starter (28-19). It is mediocre when it sees a righthander (43-43). Teams are 11-15 against the Rangers when they start a lefty in Rangers Ballpark this year, including 2-5 since Aug. 1".

How did everyone do?:P
For tonight, I'll take Atlanta and Texas.
And my World Series pick is Cincinnati over Detroit in 6 games. Jay Bruce wins MVP
2/6 with division winners, 4/8 with playoff teams and only one of my award winners (Bryce Harper, NL rookie) really stands a chance at winning an award. Overall pretty bad.How did everyone do?:P

I got 2 AL division winners and if the Rangers win, that too. NL...have 1 playoff team, and if Cards win, I have 2. Couple of my awards picks look promising though.
They have a great pen from my understanding. If they get to it early and with the lead, or at least within reach of taking it, that could be a big factor and could really help them win. I expect Saunders won't last long, but who knows.I think the Rangers and Braves pull out wins today. I really want the Orioles to win, but I don't think they have enough unfortunately. You never know in a 1-game series though.

That's going to be controversial, to say the least. Braves up 2-0.GamerForcaNo doubt. But Fredi looks real smart right now. Medlen is dealing, as usual.
