Tough loss yesterday. 4 home runs (all solo though) and we lose. Oh well.
Alverez starts today...and Pedroia had some...great words about him, saying he's "King Felix reincarnate". Wow.
Ellisbury on 15 day DL...might be 6 weeks, might be longer. Can things get worse for the Sox?
The NL East is going to be balls to the wall.Meanwhile the Nationals are 7-2. Good start. :)

Oh and...:lol::lol: oh Kevin Gregg. Thanks for the win. God, wish we could face him everyday.
Glad I got to see him blow it.
When I asked if it could get any worse for the Red Sox...it might have today. Youk got an apology for Bobby V's comments, but they never should have been said.

Pedroia talking back, so is Youk's agent. Pretty dumb comments if you ask me. Then he goes out today and leaves Bard out too long. And got booed for it.
Bobby V clearly has no management skills. Your job is to get to know what it takes to motivate your players. He just doesn't seem to get that yet. I understand he's being honest and speaking his mind, but he should realise he walked into a clubhouse in 'disarray' and he should just get along for a while before he plants his flag.

I wonder if he'll last the year? 2 guys already have beef with him, publicly, two of their best players at that.

Go Yanks.
Bobby is an idiot. He is horrible at managing pitching time, he did the same thing with yesterdays pitcher and left him out too long. He deserves to be booed. When I asked if it could get any worse for the Red Sox...it might have today. Youk got an apology for Bobby V's comments, but they never should have been said.

A lot of people didn't think he was right for the job, and should have pushed way more for Sveum (even though he rejected them) or never let Farrell go "just in case". I didn't really know much of the argument why he was no good, but I'm starting to see it. The team still seams like a mess and it might be a long year for fans.Bobby V clearly has no management skills. Your job is to get to know what it takes to motivate your players. never let Farrell go. Namgis
He's going to do great things for T.O.
If they don't already regret it, they soon will.

Kemp is still a beast. I wish I got more Dodgers games in my area. I would be nice seeing him play.
I love him here. He's done some really smart things this year. I can't point to a lose and say "Farrell should have done ______". He's pinch hit and pinch ran in the right spots, moved people in the batting order depending on LH or RH, left his pitchers out as long as they can, used the bullpen like he promised he would, with assigned roles. I think he's already improved over last year. He didn't really do those things last year. It helps players like Lawrie and EE are playing like they are so he can put them anywhere, and that the bullpen was redesigned. I think Boston DOES regret it. Even if no one will really admit it, I think they seriously wanted him as their manager this year like the rumors suggested. The Red Soxs suck so much I'm not even mad, its hilarious. The laughing stock of the league two seasons in a row.
Do you not realize how hard it is to learn a position that you've never played before? Third base is one of the hardest positions to play, and it's not surprising that he is having some difficulties.Trumbo may hit, but he can't field. Future Adam Dunn if anything.

It's official. Jamie Moyer is now the oldest pitcher in baseball history to earn a win. 6 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs (both unearned) scattered over 7 innings.

Matt Cain throws 9 scoreless innings. Cliff Lee throws 10. Giants eventually beat the Phillies 1-0 in a walkoff in the bottom of the 11th. Quite possibly the greatest April game ever played.
I was watching the Sox game yesterday, and the baseline reporter or whatever said "Go online and vote for your favorite Red Sox". Umm...that not the point. Sadly to most, that's what they do. But it isn't the point of the All-Star Game.Voting now under way for 2012 MLB All-star game.

Really? We're 13 games into the season. They should just have a 3 week period to cast votes prior to the game.

Whatever, many have complained about it before. It's too early, some players aren't playing to the level that they usually do.
Drew Hutchison makes his MLB debut for the Jays tonight. A lot of hype around him, AA called him probably the best starting prospect we have. And it isn't a 1 and done thing..he should be here a while. I don't know what they'll do when McGowan is ready if Hutchison, Alvarez, and Drabek are all pitching very well. And not injured. We'll see.
Brett Cecil has really fallen down the depth chart....Hutch, Jenkins, Carreno, McGuire, the injured McGowan and a couple more are all ahead of him right now. Not sure if we'll see him before September.
Travis Snider is playing really well in AAA. Hitting .431 with 18 RBIs, a .745 slugging percentage and also has a .508 on-base percentage, seven doubles, 12 runs scored and eight walks. When will we see him, and when we do...will he FINALLY perform at a level even close to that?
On an off-Jays note...how bout the Nats? They lead the MLB with a starter ERA of 1.94 and are 12-4. Excellent rotation and a pretty good lineup that isn't playing to full potential...or so I read.
I can't beleive what I watched this afternoon. The Sox pen is absolute f***ing garbage. Fans booing Bobby V....this wasn't his fault. Just wow.
And now he's in a meeting with the GM and owner.
I am a Sox fan 100%, but I have to agree with you on this one. Very sad too say the least. By the way Joey Batts, is one of my favorite players.I can't beleive what I watched this afternoon. The Sox pen is absolute f***ing garbage. Fans booing Bobby V....this wasn't his fault. Just wow.

[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"] And what is Delmon Young doing out there? http://www.chadmoriyama.com/2012/04/gifcap-delmon-young-zero-tool-player/Namgis
I haven't seen too many plays like that first gif in a while. Good to see pros looking like little leaguers.
Well, at least he stopped the ball. :P I'm happy he's at least playing well on the other end. Just got to remember to put my remote down when a fly ball's coming at him.[QUOTE="KlickKlick"][QUOTE="JohnBean42"]I am a Sox fan 100%, but I have to agree with you on this one. I wouldn't put him there year, I mean...Longoria is a GG 3B who does a lot of great things, and has been here a while. Lawrie plays the game hard and will be a great player, if he isn't already. Was ranked the 9th best 3B by Keith Law I beleive.
I would be booing him if I was there as well. The pen may not be his fault, but I don't think he commands the respect of the players and I feel like he will lose the team.I can't beleive what I watched this afternoon. I understand why the fans boo. Team doing bad, blow a big lead, and those comments..easy to point finger..or your boos. Happens in all sports. My only real experience with it was with the Leafs and booing Wilson under the same circumstance. I don't agree with it. Especially at this point in the season.[QUOTE="JohnBean42"]

Cherington said tonight he's doing what he can do with the team he was given. And maybe it's just not a very good team. Marlon Byrd won't help.
Maybe he will lose the team. It's still early. And the start to his tenure sure hasn't helped. But I don't think he's done anything that directly leads to them losing. Not the pen. Not Lester and Buchholz under performing. Not Elisbury's injury. I don't know though, maybe he has mismanged, I don't watch them that much.
Yeah he isn't very good at managing pitchers. He is not being a good leader as well. I have read he's put certain guys out there he shouldn't have.Tomorrows game, and the few after that, will be a big test of the team to see how they respond to what happened yesterday. It'll really show what kind of manager he is, how he pull them out of what he calls "rock bottom"[QUOTE="JohnBean42"]
