I wanted to buy it but I want to know how it works before. If the monsters fights work like in DQVIII, I don't think I'll get. I would like the monsters to level up.

I downloaded the Ratchet and Clank: Future Tools of Destruction demo yesterday and it is awesome! R & C never looked this good, the environments size and details rival that of Heavenly Swords. The combat was typical R & C, in other words, freakin fun :D The R & C humor is also still there and we finally get to learn more about Ratchet's past, this is going to be a definite purchase from me here in the near future.
I also got Folklore today, played through the Prologues and it is interesting so far. Like how we get to see the events from a two different perspectives. This game also nailed the, fantasy world look, the Netherworld really looks and feels like an entirely different land.

Oh yeah i played the demo is pretty fun, specially when you slide on the train rails while trying to avoid the trains
Folklore is amazing i just finished chapter 2 with both ellen and keats and i have 6 hours of gameplay, you can finish the chapters faster, but i want to do everything i can in each chapter, I'll tell you later how is it going, but so far so good. Btw there is a new Folklore demo you might want to try Yuna, I haven't download it but apparently is a completely new one.
So has anyone snagged a copy of .Hack//Redemption or the Sly Cooper or the newest Megaman ZX: Advent game? I am a big fan of the Megaman series, and the new G.U.'s, but I haven't got a chance, and probably won't because Xmas is comming up and I gotta leave something for people to buy me. :P So any opinions yet?
GS your reviews continue to puzzle me, Aaron Thomas gave R & C FtoD a 7.5....but from what he said in his review, he made it sound like a 8.5 game...the bad points to it where a kinda weak story, easy for veterans of the series, and a few unecessary minigames....how does that equal a 7.5 :?kryu88
I know!!! I was just gonna mention that!!! Just as soon as I saw the review I rushed over to gamerankings to see how it's doing elsewhere and they have the game at a solid 90%....GS reviews....I don't get 'em.

I don't know if GS is just more critical about certain things than other review sites are or what.....it's just from what Aaron said in his review and his score...just don't add up, seemed like a 8.5 game to me...or 9.0 even.
Also, Pheonix Wright 3 got a 7.5 too, but it's practically the same game as the other 2 (don't get me wrong, I love PH) yet R&C:ToD also got the same score? R&C is a far more enjoyable game and should have gotten a better score.Lady_Bahamut
I was thinking that too....I can see how PH got a 7.5 since it's kinda the same ol' same ol' (no worries though as PH ROCKS! :P), but it's just weird to give R&C a 7.5 as well. Crazy GS.

I KNOW!!! It's completely messed up! I'm trying to ignore the numbers on gamespot reviews because I almost never understand them.. but they make the number so large that I just can't ignore it! R&C totally seems to deserve more than that... I actually really want to buy it now! With some reviews saying it's the best ps3 game so far!!
Same here Freya, but I cannot agree with the steep price of 60-70$ games they produce....I'm very thankful we donot have taxes here, it makes things much cheaper; no hidden fee's. :P I'm going to wait for when they stop rechanging the way the PS3 gets packaged, I don't want to buy a cheap shoddy package deal which will only cost me more so I'll wait for a more stable version.

Lucky, here the taxes are 13.5% and even with the Canadian dollar value higher than the American one, everythings are still more expensive... :(

You want to try living in the UK. ;)
Here's what gamerankings has to say about R&C, which currently has it at a 90.2% (excellent, in my eyes):
(This is only from 5 reviews out of the 15 that gamerankings uses to get R&C's average score)
IGN - 9.4/10
Gamespot - 7.5/10
Gamespy - 4/5
1UP - 8.5/10
Game Informer - 9.25/10
So for the most part....pretty great scores. Oh - except for that one score given by GAMESPOT! Hrmm...

That's exactly what I said when I saw Blue Dragon's score.
It should be a commercial- Why does GS give good games bad scores? The world may never know.
does anyone else love suikoden V, i loved this game.darkcloud6
I saw it in GAME a few weeks back but it disappeared very quickly...
So I'll keep it simple, Folklore is awesome. Sure the game has its drawbacks(it starts slow, the voice acting kinda sucks and is kinda linear), but the beautiful design, an intelligent use of the sixaxis functionality, some good rpg elements, the opportunity to solve a dark mystery from different perspectives and of course the chance to suck the soul out of your enemies(soul reaver?, nah even better) along with many other interesting features(like the yet to be released downloadable content) makes Folklore one of the best games released for the ps3 so far IMHO.
I think the GS reviewer just didn't like the game because it definitely deserved something better than a 7.0, I mean, yeah the 9 that IGN gave it was a bit too much, but this game at least should have received a 8.0-8.5.

Awesome! Thanks! I think I'll pick this up once I can find a used copy.. save myself the five dollars.. haha

I got the game as well, I've only played the Prologues, but I'm intrigued by the story, the folk gameplay is fun, and it definitely nails the "fantasy world" aspect of an RPG. Why GS is giving good games like Folklore and R & C scores in the 7.0 range..when they are more 8.0 games...I don't get :?
Double Post FTW!!! :P
I just thought I'd ask..but does anybody else here play Guild Wars? I know Kadaj does...but does anybody else play? We could have a S.E.E guild and go out questing and other nonsense..but I know most of you here probably aren't big MMO players  But, it could be fun....and it's free... *insert boo boo lip emoticon*

Awww, that's a cool idea! I have a trial offer waiting for me to use. I just don't dare get into MMOs! But it is free...hmmm *ponders*
Since GS appparently doesn't want to show that I posted or let me edit my message.....
If you guys were to download Ventrilo (from their website, just google it) and have a headset/mic, everbody could get on my guild's Vent server and we could talk to each other while we are questing. It is fun to have 6-8 people in a Vent/Teamspeak server and chatting away at what is going on in game, many good times on TS/Vent.....
Also, when I tried to edit my message the first time, after I hit submit, it sent me to The Need for Speed Pro Union....and said I couldn't post or edit messages there...:? Duh GS I'm not a member of that Union and why you sent me there!??!?!?!?

Downloadable demos are very nice, I download just about every demo I can (for games I may want of course :P ) And there are game trailers and such, really the online stores on the next gen systems are very nice. Though, you can do that on your PC anytime
Kuja - that sounds very cool! Maybe I'll give Guild Wars a shot someday and we'll all have an awesome SEE Guild. ^_^
As far as GS glitches go....grrr...don't even get me started! XD GS is the ultimate in glitchy lately....I've too gotten messages like "you can't edit posts unless you're a moderator" (hello?), or "you can't quote posts from a different topic!" (wth?), and although the forum glitches are down to a minimum now it's all about PM glitches! yay! >_>
I haven't :( Although from what I've gathered some some RPG sites it's a "love it or hate it" type of game?Lady_Bahamut
I've just heard the love it part.

It does have it's drawbacks. It's a bit short and easy, it's very linear and isn't particularly original. The battles are a lot of fun though and even though I personally don't consider it to be a "classic", I think it's worth picking up nonetheless (especially if it's cheap).

I did a review for it..I put in our reviews section if you manage to find the post  Or you could go to my profile and read it, it basically tells of the pros/cons of the game. It is an above average RPG, fun, yet some of the things that make it stand out (like the button combo battle system) can be a drawback for some.
@Cecil: how much hours of gameplay do you have with Zelda PH?
@Magus: yeah the sreet fighters trailer was pretty cool, the bionic commandos on the other hmm, well the game looks like Siper-Man meets Inspector Gadget so...
@Cecil: how much hours of gameplay do you have with Zelda PH?
