[QUOTE="Andraxal"]Is anyone else hoping for a remake of the Mana games from the original SNES. crushgoil

yes! I'd love to be able to play Secret of Mana etc.! That would be so much more worthwhile than their remakes of games that were already on the PS/ GBA.

I'd love a straight port of the original. :)

A remake of secret of mana and chrono trigger would be great.  It is funny how much people say they dislike remakes, but when it is a game they really like they go along with it.

yeah i like remakes, but feel the need to draw the line somewhere.  For example remaking Crono Trigger, FFIV, FFVI, FFVII, Illusion of Gaia, Secret of Mana, translating what Seiken Densetsu 3 or any other classic games that haven't been redone 7 times...The new FF games for the PSP killed me because it just feel like they are beating the dead horse.  I'm a fan of diversity...gimme change and somthing new over the same 2 games over and over again.

There's a GBA version of it. And I am sure SE will remake it on the DS too, once they are done with FFIV.

 That's very true. I'd honestly prefer to see a straight port of the originals though, so I really like it when stuff like Streets of Rage II and R-Type III turn up on the Wii VC in their original form.

yeah i like remakes, but feel the need to draw the line somewhere. Yes, I agree with this in principle, though I'm not sure we need FFIV, VI and VII remakes when there's nothing wrong with the originals (plus we had ports of IV and VI on the PS and IV is being remade as well). I'd certainly love to see straight ports of the others, though (though I'd obviously want an English translation for Seiken 3 ;) ).

They were indeed. Things started to go downhill with Legend of Mana (though it was still a decent game) and have been ever since. *Wonders if the series has hit rock bottom yet*

Nah. I don't think so. I bet they'll eventually remake those old games. I look forward to it, I hope they keep the classical look they had.

FFVII. And Mr. T needs to voice Barret. There also needs to be one line in FFVII when Barret says "I pity da fool!". :P

Oh dear god, no. Just because he's a dark skinned fellow doesn't mean he should sound like Mr. T. I think he should be done by a lower voiced middle aged man, who can be gentle for his little girl, yet a battle hardened terrorist when need be. I don't want a wimp to play him, nor some stupid celebrity like Samuel el motha' snakes on a plane jackson.

I personally think thats a bad idea...barret would sound like a joke....... thats almost as bad as having Cid sound like a Western Cowboy........ Wait he already does X__X
(not that i have anything against cowboys and the like, i just always pictured him sounding more like a military General)

Yeah I know, I was so bummed in AC. I was like what the....?! Why does he sound like a cow poke? He should sound more like a middle aged mid life crisis hair thinning foul mouthed astronaut. You know who'd do his voice well? The guy who does Auron, the actor I forget the name, has a very broad voice range quite not unlike Steve Blum.

The Japanese voice for Cid(in AC) sounded like a middle-age man.

The voice for Cid in Final Fantasy AC sounded exactly like I thought it would. I personally would love to see all of those games remade with voice acting and more story, especially FF6. It just has so much to it already and I would love to see what else they would do.

I totally agree with Japanese voice acting in AC was totally better than the english, it's a lot of the case with games and anime.

How you people think of a remake or import of Seiken Densetsu 3?

 Steve Blum is quite unmistakable when you hear his voice. Most of the time I also prefer the English over Japanese voice actors...but AC was also one of my exceptions (and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Japanese VA>>>>>English VA in that anime)

Odd i usually hear anime circles enjoy Japanese over English ... but i guess everyones different.........
i personally thought the english was done really bad.
Tifa was monotone
Cloud just sounded more depressed due to his voice
Aeris was ....coincidentally really airy
Barrent was ok i guess
Cid .... no
And ... why did cait sith have that akward accent........... where did that come from ???
Sephiroth..... meh... in the end i thought the Japanese voice-overs were much better

lol, I used to love only Japanese voices too, but, over the past couple of years....I've sorta become more open to English voices. I mean, with somethin like Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo...k, nearly all the anime on Adult Swim, I think the English sounds pretty decent. And, I actually thought the English in AC was cool. Maybe it's just me but, I think the English talent has gotten alot better over the past decade.

Cowboy Bebop's English voice dub I can tolerate. Except for Ed's, I like her Japanese voice better. But you're right, the CB's VA isn't bad at all!

[QUOTE="Andraxal"]Yeah I know, I was so bummed in AC. Kenshin18

 Steve Blum is quite unmistakable when you hear his voice. Most of the time I also prefer the English over Japanese voice actors...but AC was also one of my exceptions (and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Japanese VA>>>>>English VA in that anime)

I prefer the Japanese voices over English.

Yeah, me too. Especially in anime.

Yeah:)

lol, I used to love only Japanese voices too, but, over the past couple of years....I've sorta become more open to English voices.

It has.

You guys are off topic... :roll:I heard that the FMV sequences have voice acting, that's a major plus in my book. :) It makes me hope the voice acting is as good as the Lion War.

ha ha, I guess it kinda has. But, I think overall, people here are worried that in whatever game they want remade by SE, the voice acting will not live up to their expectations, and it'd bring down the experience they're expecting.

As long as it's like XII's VA, I have no problem! :)

You know the sad part is a lot of people hated the voices of Ivalice in the newest installment of Final Fantasy. Wheather it was because you had to actually think when they spoke, perhaps the different dialects, or the use of actors from places other than America was what trigger their hatred; I truly liked the voices of Final Fantasy XII. They all seemed to fit seamlessly, and not a one in the game I would change, except Al Cid. I really hate him. His phonyness, and accent drive me crazy. I thought Cidolfus' voice was SUPERB, Balthier's matched exquisetly, and Gabranths was done extraordinarily.I think it was the best voice acting in a game I'd ever heard. I liked how everyone sounded different, like there was a real Ivalice, and each person had their own dialect, it made it seem that much more real. If they keep their efforts up like this, I'll be real excited when they announce voice acting for FFIV.

I think it was the dialect. Old English can be hard to understand. But if you pay attention, you'll be OK.

I too agree that the VA was top-notch. It was believeable and expressive. It didn't sound phony (although I do think Al Cid was just a stupid character) or forced. It was perfect. I loved the accents and I loved the dialect - there was believability to it. It made it sound more real.

Balthier's voice was my favourite. And Fran's. Well, Balthier's just my favourite as a whole, 'cause he just rocks so bad. :P

FFIVDS is gonna have VA?

Yup. Some say it's only in the FMV's, but there is speculation of it else where. I seen links on the boards from it which state there are a new style of text box's now, ones that seem to be subtitles, not just background text boxes, meaning someones talking. :)

I liked their voices. I thought they fit well with them.

I knew a lot of people who really liked him, and I couldn't figure it out....He seemed out of place...really. What was with his entourage of "little birds" as well? I thought that was soooooo weird!
