I was thinking about the FFVII remake possibilities and it occured to me that since they are doing the FFIV, FFV, FFVI remakes the natural progression would be to remake FFVII next. So if they follow the timeline you should see an FFVII remake somtime in late 08, so let the peanut gallery begin its speculation.N8A
I still don't think it'll be that early, they have far too many projects going on right now to do a remake of VII. If they were to continue with remakes, how far will they go? I assume they'll stop at IX, since the others are all on the PS2 and don't really need remade.

I think for their SE party, if they decided to remake 7, 8, and 9; they should present it like this.
SE introduces Cloud Strife on the screen, Cloud then draws his sword and gets into an attack stance. Then you hear footsteps, and then clashing of swords. You see Cloud smirk and say "Squall Lionheart", which then the camera would focus on Squall who charges at Cloud and they go at it again.
While they are about to do one of their limit breakers, 2 darts wiz right past them, and you see a kick blocked by Squall. The attacker then does a backflip and jumps off of Cloud. The attacker gets up, and you see him as Zidane Tribal.
The three just eye each other for 3 seconds. Cloud says "Squall Lionheat", while Squall says, "Zidane Tribal", and Zidane says"Cloud Strife". The screen then has Cloud's face on one side and below it, it says PS3, while Squall's goes into the middle and says 360, and finally, Zidane's face shows at the end and it says Wii.
They then start to glow, and they just towards each other, and the screen goes to the release dates of the games.
^ Hmm, interesting, would be a good way to get people's attention.
Split the 3 between all 3 next gen consoles though? That would definitely be an interesting move by SE if they were to do that. Well, if it were to go like that, at least the 2 I care about would be on systems I could play them on
That would be a good trailer though, and a good move too. By doing that they are saying that they don't belong to one console.^ Hmm, interesting, would be a good way to get people's attention.

SE already announced that if they were to remake FFVII it would take them 5 years to do so, don't get ahead of yourselves, if they're going to remake it they'll spend a lot of time making it perfect (so the fans don't slaughter them).crushgoil
We know that. If only they got a blank check to work on FF7, like Mistwalker got for Blue Dragon.

Yeah blank checks all around! I don't think it would be possible to please all the fans, so i think they should just remake it to shut them up. Just do a good enough job to make most of the people happy.

I agree. They should just remake 7, 8, and 9 and leave it at that. Then everyone is happy.
I can know that someone will say "They shouldn't remake FF8, because it sucks", but I think that FF8 should be remade, since it is a pretty good game. FF9 too.

I don't think 8 needs to be remade because it's amazing how it is. The graphics aren't THAT lacking that I want them to waste time and money on a remake. Give me newer better games please. I even think the FFIV remake was unnecessary. I want to see Dissidia, the KH games, FFXIII and Versus on shelves much more.

And how many fans one game has.
Yes I agree Final Fantasy VIII shouldn't be remade any time soon. I didn't care for it, and it seemed over all lacking-the graphics aren't even that old anyway. I loved Final Fantasy IX's graphic style, and it had a cooler more old school look about it, which shouldn't be remade without capturing that once loveable essence. I agree now a days FFVII's graphics look like junk, but it wasn't exactly known for it's graphics...I'd like a remake of FFVII only a more complete version, with the STORY CORRECT on the whole past and flash back sequences. Andraxal
why didn't you care for it?

see.. the reason I didn't like FFIX was because I was angry that they switched back to that graphical style. Plus I thought Quina was the most annoying thing on the face of the universe.
Obviously everyone has different taste in graphics, hence why there are so many games out there!!

Like FFVII graphical style?
I agree that IX looked great and i remember when it came out i was so happy because i thought they had given up no the character designs of VII and VIII and gone back to their roots, then i had someone ruin my world by telling me that was their final goodbye to that type of game...sad.N8A
I like those types of games too. They should bring that back. I think XII might be like that.

I loved IX so much! It really did go back to its roots. It was full of references too! That was one of my favourite FFs.

 Lets remember that when it came out VII had some of the best graphics ever seen in a game before. Way back in 1997.........memories....oh wait. VIII was pretty good (remembers hours of card game addiciton in that game) I didn't prefer it over VII or IX, but it was still a memorable FF. IX well.....I could go on about it forever

Yeah, it'll just be nice to see VII with some decent CG! If you compare VII's cutscenes to VIII's or IX's...it's just no contest. VIII's and IX's just looked soooo much better! What a few years can do.... :)
I was so bad at VIII's card game.....I hated that random rule. I was always stuck with it too! XD Now...don't even get me started on Tetra Master....I loved that game!!

I thought that VIII's card game was really good. I didn't really care for Tetra Master because it was too random (which makes it seem overly complex at first). I think that the best such mini-game I've played is the card game in Xenosaga, which I found to be more addictive than the game itself.

Really? I thought Tetra Master was so much more easy to understand compared to Triple Triad. I just always got stuck with the Random rule and couldn't get it out. So no matter how many good cards I had, Random always chose my bad ones!
Speaking of addicting mini-games, I really liked the Chocobo Hot and Cold game. I thought it was so much fun! The chocobos were so cute....and then you got to go to the Chocobo Planet or something like that!

None of the above to be honest. I have played them all already. What I really would like to see is SE putting more effort into some original titles or some sequals to other game series of theirs. Vagrant Story 2? A non mobile phone Parasite eve 3 perhaps? AzelKosMos
Always VS2, which after playing it more I can understand why, it is a near perfect game... PE3 not being on mobile phones would just be weird, SE did the proper thing there *note, total sarcasm right there at the end* :P

I agree there.
I guess I would go with FFIV! I know this may come as a shock since everyone would obviously go with FFVII,but FFVII has enough good story and good graphics...I mean good graphics in that you can relate to the characters and events. Whereas FFIV,had bad graphics(plz don't start a debate about the graphics were good in thier own time or how it's a classic),so I would like to take a good look at Cecil,Rydia,Kain and everyone else! FFVI,I haven't played yet,so I may have gone with it instead but I'll stick to what I've seen :Pcoldness6
