I'd say it's an apples-to-oranges comparison, but if you don't get that now, you never will. If consoles - which are sold at a loss, not a profit - could be beaten even by motherboard-cpu-memory combos BEFORE THEY ARE EVEN RELEASED, that would be pretty sad. 

Also, we won't be including cases, power supplies, and operating systems, since we bought those before. We aren't forced to purchase them again .

It's possible I think. But what does it matter? You will still not be able to play console exclusives.

You won't play games like the last of us on a pc, if you're pc only, you're missing out...on almost everything.Suppaman100

Exclusives are the only reason to get consoles at all. But half my time on PC is spent on PC exclusives (not to mention games that are just better on PC) so, whatever.

It will be tough to do for $399.  For $600-700 I can make one that will trash the PS4.  It will also be good for a lot more than gaming.  Factor in the cheaper games and expandability options down the road, and it's a far superior platform.
