It also has to have the same sound foot-print as the PS4. We don't know how loud the PS4 is atm, but if we work assuming it can't be any noisier than the original 360 we have a target.I'm sure there were topics like this already, but I want to take this one further and use it for future reference.

So, rules are simple, 399USD, 399EUR or 349GBP to build a PC.
It needs to be a complete tower plus keyboard and mouse, everything expect a monitor, because so often I see users coming up with these magical PCs as cheap as peanuts but its actually just CPU&GPU and maybe some RAM.
For this one you'll need the COMPLETE tower, that means Mother Board, CPU, GPU, RAM, HDD, Optical Drive (should be BluRay but I'll take a DVD one) PSU, Cooling, and so on and so forth, in short, all the bells and whistles because that's what you get from the PlayStation 4, it's a complete unit that only needs plugging to a TV (ence I'm leaving out the PC monitor from the list) and that's it.
So, $399 to build it, go, and lets see how long that PC lasts in the gaming world.
[QUOTE="jun_aka_pekto"]Blasphemy! Consolites deny using any form of PC for their daily lives. And even if they do, it's a $100-$200 PoS they bought 10yrs ago. Didn't you know? PS3 does EVERYTHING! Not all PCs are gaming convertible. Either because the case isn't right for it, the motherboard doesn't have great expansion options or because they are (in all likelihood) using a laptop. This is why this thread exists. To debunk the myth that you can get better or comparable performance from a PC for the same price as a console. ÂRegardless of the gaming PC costing more, if I game only on the PS4, I'll still need to post here (plus other forums) and that means having a non-gaming PC of some sort.
My formula still isn't going to change:
Gaming PCÂ = Console(s) + Non-Gaming PC/Tablet

Even assuming you don't opt for a BR drive (or forgo optical media altogether), I just don't see how it is possible. Â The idea that you can get a PC for that price make a tonne of assumptions about what parts you have lying around.
i made one its actually superior cpu wise and ram wise. if you sue a gtx 650ti boost ed. or you can get FREE GAMES if you get the 7790 and then your graphically on par with an x1 but cpu superior to both and ram superior to both. poor lems & cows.. nothing but faliure from the get go again. i remember last gen when we curb stomped the ps3 for its price tag with an hd 4670 and a phenom I x4 . consoles r teh dated carp!PS4 is an awesome system and great value, I really don't know if there is something on par with power and value out there.

close consolites.. close but no cigar ESPECIALLY when amd is about to replace your 7870 with something much faster FOR THE SAME MONEY
It is hard to find a comparable CPU really because the consoles are using one that would typically be mobile. Â So as far as the CPU goes you are probably going overkill and GPU is probably under what is there so it will more or less be about right. Â I actually did a quick search on builds on tiger direct with an amd barebones kit and a 7790(sounds similar to what you found) and it came up slightly more than $400 but it also comes with 4 games I think. Â The GPU came with BioShock Infinite, TombRaider, & Far Cry 3 and the barebone kit came with DMC. Â I think that PC comes out as a better value.

I think you are assuming plenty from one short statement but that's ok. Â BTW isn't it weird that 7850s and 7870s are going for the prices they are atm when a gtx 660 is so much cheaper and fits nicely in the middle between them?
their two cedar trails glues togeather. cedar trail benchmark in pc mark is about 720 points lets say. times two is about 1440. lets be generous TIMES FOUR (which i know is a lie but w/e). pcmark 7 gives you a score of 2880. the phenom II x4 965 BE has a pcmark score of 4710. NEARLY DOUBLE.It is hard to find a comparable CPU really because the consoles are using one that would typically be mobile. Â
The PS4 is not using a 7870 it is weaker than that.
It is a closer to the performance of a 7850.
Â
Â
Also that BF3 benchmark seems to be outdated.
Here is a newer one from the same site.
