[QUOTE="ForsakenWicked"]Screw Activision. I told you guys, you need to stop buying everything made/published by them before they prove they can do it right and other companies adopt it.Verge_6
'Bu bu we wants our multiplayir leveling fix  '

I don't want anything from Activision. All I'm saying is that people needs to stop supporting them because, otherwise, other companies will soon adopt their methods of generating additional revenue.

Yeah, I voted that's business. Because business isn't personal. Like Gordon Gekko said in Wall Street , don't get emotional over money. It's not against the law for these companies to do this, and with the success of WoW and Live, it is looking like money left on the table to these companies. Now should this start, I simply won't buy. But I won't say what's right or wrong for any company I don't own.cainetao11
Why shouldn't I get emotional over money? Money is a substantive form of my hard work and dedication. It is like Activision is actively violating my personal character.

So we'll pay for XBL + to Activision just to play the multiplayer mode of the game we've already paid for.

LOL! pay pay pay pay pay pay pay pay pay pay. Might as well charge us for every gun that we use. Jesus.

def_mode

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Activision came out with its own console, then every who loves Call of Duty would have to buy the game, pay for online, and the console.

They tried to have Brutal Legend cancelled because EA decided to publish it after they, Activision, dropped it. What does that tell you?

Plus the reason they dropped it was because Double Fine wouldn't turn it into a Guitar Hero spin-off. Man, their reputation is going to be in tatters by the end of this gen.

It's seems that the new trend in gaming is to focus on the customer, to give him the best experience as possible and making him addicted to the brand, so he comes back for more. For example, Valve and now EA.

Activision has alway been a big exception. They shoved litterally everything in their customers throats... Insane publicity in their games (a Axe guitar? really?), terribly overpriced dlc (10$ for 4 maps in cod 4), cheap use of their old franchise to milk a quick buck ( they ruined soldier of fortune, wolfenstein...), cutting starcraft 2 contents into 3 differents 50$ games, yearly CoD games (more like xp, since they don't have much contents), removing features in the pc version recently...

Now pay for the mp bs...This is not surprising. It seems like everyone in their dog is against it, but I am sure it will still be a a huge hit. People are such uninformed tools it's incredible. I am sure hardcore fan of cod will actually think this is a great idea... Monthly update for 10$*months... yippe! I bet this "monthly" update will be 2 maps*per months. Have fun, personally I don't care anymore about them

I can already see it! Future gaming: retail price, online gaming fee, microtransactions. Gaming will become a luxury.

LIVE+Game+Monthly Fee=way too much money.

Even though I love Call of Duty I would stop playing it online if I have to pay a monthly fee (even if it is $5). I'll just play more Halo and Gears.

Screw you, Activision. I don't buy your products, so I can't say I'll be a lost customer if you do this, and unfortunately, I'm not even confident that consumers would oppose you taking more money our of their pockets as long as they get to play their CoD and GH rehashes. But this is just getting ridiculous.

if activision really thinks they can make cod work like a mmo they are dreaming. if they introduce monthly fees it could kill them. no many people will pay a monthly few for a fps when there are many similar game for free. xbl is one thing but a monthly fee for one non mmo game is one huge rip.

all introducing fees will do is make the hackers work faster to break their system so they can play it without any iwnet.

In the White House...

Barack Obama: What's the latest on Call of Duty?

(Press Secretary) Robert Gibbs: Well Mr. President, Activision is going to start using a pay-to-play service for the Call of Duty franchise from now on.

Obama: What? Now I have to pay for Xbox Live and COD multiplayer?!?!?

Gibbs: Afraid so, sir.

Obama: This is an outrage!!!! Who is responsible for this?!?!?

Gibbs: Reports say a greedy, dirty CEO who likes having an "atmosphere of fear" in his company.

Obama: (mutters under his breath) Kotick!!!

You stay c1assy Activision!

[QUOTE="fabz_95"]

Come on Activision, that's unfair.

Especially for the 360 owners that have to pay for XBL.

Mograine

Why "especially"? Seems to me they are the most used to bending.

I picked the bottom option because that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm going to sit back and watch all the reckless buyers mindlessly supporting Bob Kotick's obeseness and destroying the games industry in the process. Stupid stupid people. You deserve it.

Here's the thing: if it means things that don't change the current gameplay of Modern Warfare 2 or future Call of Duties but we only pay for optional things like skins, costumes, etc., than I guess it'll be okay. But if it's require to pay per month online just to play or if you have to pay more for additional level caps, prestige, etc., than that would suck. Paying for XBL is burdensome enough.

Activision is awesome. They are totally capitalizing on everyone's addiction to gaming. I'm quite frankly really pleased they are doing this. Its good to have a company that will try to push their customers to see how far they are willing to go. Maybe this will finally be the straw that breaks the camel's back, or it will just continue to prove out that the majority of gamers are just so pathetic that they will let corporations walk all over them. Either way, I'll just sit back, watch and laugh my ass off.beekayjay

i am in full agreement with this guy. the tears in the rain will threaten to drown us all but it will be worth it in entertainment value.

Well I hope so too bc the next game will be a treyarch game, ugh. Maybe if the next one flops then activision will learn not to let treyarch touch the series. I've been tempted to buy MW2 but I am going to remain patient and wait for gamefly to do its thing and ship me the game. I hate all activision games with the exception of those made by IW and even those I could live without.

"According to the Activision CFO, there is a demand from its core fanbase to pay for additional services."

Who the hell hired this guy, is he mentally ill? This is the stupidest thing I ever heard. I paid 100 dollars for your game, I pay my money for Xbox Live, now screw off and let me play my game that I already paid for! What more do you want from me. You made a game, I paid for it, go away Activision.

For Gods sake I am a massive Call of Duty fan but if they ever do this I'm done with the series. This is by far the stupidest thing I have ever seen a company even portend.

I hear you loud and clear. I was almost about to give into the hype of buying MW2... if I do get it, I'll get it second hand. This is ridiculous. Unfortunately, no telling how many millions of the gamers who have bought COD MW2 have no clue about anything of this.
