Alan Wake flopped 10 times harder than Killzone 3

I remember no such thing, and i've been around SW for quite a while. The last time I remember KZ being called a Halo killer was when the first was being hyped, and that was instigated by the media.

All the hype for alan wake, a 5 year wait, and it turned out to completely suck

killzone 3 had very little hype, only graphical, which it surpassed and became the console graphics king

I remember that back in the day, Xbots wouldn't shut up about Alan Wake, and I could never figure out why they were so hyped for it. Yeah, it wasn't as bad as Too Human, but now look at it...

i been around sw too and i seen it. heck, some of them was saying it look even better than crysis. as soon as pictures and video play of the game came out, they hyped it up.

i played the demo friday, the Wait for it to download on PSN was far more compelling than playing the actual demo.

TYPICAL KZ3 gameplay....Sev, lets shoot these guys with this gatling gun in the snow WHILE FLAGS WAVE, oh and theres the new blood animation only More Red, Gee, we've NEVER seen that before? now have we?

After the disappointment that was KZ2, I doubt many will purchase the sequel, that scored lower.

Bungie is a great developer, but after the trilogy ended, it almost felt that there should be no new Halo games.

While Reach is a good game, it is not as special as the previous three games with Master Chief.

Standards don't just rise for no reason, games upping the bar raise standards so what game(s) in the FPS genre raised the bar enough that KZ3 failed to get AAA is the question.

Not if you look at it w/out any fanboy goggles. Seeing new IP's fail to reach their GS hype seems to be quite common, especially for AAA status. Whatever happened to Haze, Too Human, Lair, Spore, etc.? In the end, you weigh out which becomes a bigger flop: a long wait for a highly-anticipated new IP or a highly-anticipated sequel that took "2 steps forward, and 2 steps back" (according to KB)? Personally, this is a ridiculous claim to make especially when considering AW's review only mentioned 1 con (which is a bit debatable). I think you'd be more right in replacing Alan Wake with Crackdown 2.
