you can be a linear game and have a huge scale to be honest. Scale just be vast open areas, and great draw distances etc. God of War 3 while linear, and confined has an impressive scale to say the least. There not sandbox tier in the scale department, but for linear games I'd say it's fair game to something has a nice scale or even huge at times. I know that, I'm just getting tired of the TC trying make it seem like AW has these huge open levels. U2 beats Alan Wake in physics, character models and animation, while on the other hand Alan Wake beats U2 in lighting, atmosphere, soundtrack, concept and story.
