The hatred is strong in this thread.VadameeA game that is only on the 360 That cows can't use "I'll play it on my PC" and hermits are left from experiancing...No doubt.
[QUOTE="shakmaster13"][QUOTE="navyguy21"]Yes it is, the only questions that need updating are changed. if the game was no longer open world, then it wouldve been changed. There is discussion going on about it on the forums over there, but i didnt link to that because the answer was in the FAQs, which the admin referred the posters, so its up to date.

Since the cancelling of the PC version it just seemed logical to me that the game would be more restricted and linear due to the 360's capabilities. Maybe that's why development is taking so long, because they needed to start from scratch to tailor the game to the 360.
But at the same time I hope you're right and I'm wrong.
Really? We're still talking about the 360's capabilities in a negative light? Despite the fact the fact that the 360 has proven to be equal to the PS3... Maybe I should start talking about how limited the PS3's hardware is. Seeing as how most multiplats look better on the 360. I'm just going to ignore the exclusives, the same way cows ignore anything that proves the 360 can keep up with the PS3.Alan Wake looks great, but lets not get carried away huh bud. Also what does multiplats have to do with anything, most are equal on both consoles and the ones with a 360 advantage are because of lead platform development:| Don't make me whip out some FF13 pics, which favors PS3. Not to mention FF13 is the best looking multiplat on consoles, so your little multiplat ammo backfired. Some gameslook better on PS3, some look better on 360. Depends on the lead development.
Look at the update date..Uhm lol, I love how most of SW just blindly agrees with OP. Did you guys even check the source? A forum post made may 2007, that's almost 3 years ago when there still was a PC version around.

They updated that FAQs this month... If they felt any discrepancy between the current game and their past ideas listed in previous updates, don't you think they would have altered that data also? Is it not a logical assumption? The only people arguing over this are the ones that can't play it and its really pathetic. "Mmmm... Fan boy tears taste like sweet nectar" I remember when someone said this. Its funny how all the once quiet hermits have come out of the woodwork to bash this game when just a few months ago before the announced exclusives, they loved the game.Uhm lol, I love how most of SW just blindly agrees with OP.
I think this has Forza 3 beat for the game people want to see flop the most, because with Forza 3 it was mostly cows, but with Alan Wake it's cows and hermits. Major ownage if this game gets AAA.

What, just the two game boxes with discs inside?
I'm sure that you will needa PS3, an Xbox, cables, a TV, shelter, and electricity.
Right???? :P

its probably going to be like fable where you follow linear paths in a open world. still going to be great
PAL360
Sounds more like GTA. Read again: "no loadings" :)
The No loading thing is an ancient FAQ answer regarding the PC version. Here's what Sam Lake says: The game was originally announced as having a large open world to explore. Is that still the case? We did try a more free-roaming approach at one point but decided that's not really the way we wanted to go. We want to deliver a good story and a good thriller and create the best possible rollercoaster ride through the game for the player. So the story is the means that guides the player through the game and through the game world. That being said, this path that the player is on is quite wide at times and all through the game there is a lot for the player to explore, but it's not a free-roaming sandbox. http://www.edge-online.com/features/interview-writing-alan-wake So it's not the best looking game, and it's not open world....[QUOTE="PAL360"][QUOTE="toast_burner"]

Cool, thanks for letting me know. Burn! lmao :PLet's pretend that you're correct, and the graphics aren't that great... Since when does graphics make the game? I am sick of devs sacrificing gameplay, and game length, for graphics. There's a lot more to a game than graphics. Now, back to reality... That pic looks awesome. Time to get some new glasses, dude. donno but i still think thats not to bad looking! It looks great to me.[QUOTE="MortalDecay"][QUOTE="windsquid9000"]
Low-res textures, little to no normal mapping, and low-poly objects/environments... :(
I am disappoint.

Updated questions are marked with a title colored like this.
yet the only thing I see updated is What is happening with Max Payne 3?
What tools are used to make the game?
Because that is all they need to update?

Cool, thanks for letting me know. Zing!!!You make a very strong argument. No damage control from you!GTA IV is open world and looks better than Alan Wake. Take a look at any car in GTA IV and compare it to the car in Alan Wake. And GTA IV is real open world, not semi open world.

[QUOTE="Revan_911"]You make a very strong argument. No damage control from you! What are you talking about. A couple of screens from 2006 PC version is not proof that the game is open world. All we've seen from the 360 version are a couple of linear levels. The game will have some large areas to explore, but it will not be open world. This thread is a lie.GTA IV is open world and looks better than Alan Wake. Take a look at any car in GTA IV and compare it to the car in Alan Wake. And GTA IV is real open world, not semi open world.

The environment is much better, also, they updated there faq, no? So, if it needed to be updated(the fact that it is open world/linear), it would.

I could say the same thing about the lighting, charachter models, nature (trees, water) all look better in Alan Wake. Ofcourse this game will be nothing compared to the size of GTA 4 but you have to be blind to not see that this game looks better than GTA 4in most aspects.

I agree that GTA4 is an awesome looking game but why are you bringing only the cars? What about vegetation, character models, etc?
Going by your logic, Fight Night Round is looks better than Crysis. Just look at the character models...:?

Size doesn't relate to anything other than time of development. Even though GTAV was huge, the amount of area within view wasn't often very big because of buildings in the way, etc. Please Log In to post.
