Hello, I'm just gonna pop into this discussion out of nowhere and try to make you understand that what Ninja-Vox is saying is that while he doesn't think the game is racist, it certainly can be interpreted that way by others. I don't understand why you're having such difficulties grasping that. He has even on multiple occasions stated that he doesn't think it is racist, and you try to dig into his replies and claim he's implying that's not true. How ridiculous is that?

Thank you by the way, i keep saying it over and over and over again but when you're the only person in a thread on one side of the fence people naturally assume you're wrong and feel the need to continually attack you regardless of how many times you make your point clear.

The only time they've made a single valid point was saying that i should not have used the word undertone, at which point i happily said that if i'd got it wrong - fair enough - but i dont think i have. Undertone doesn't mean an underlying theme had to be deliberately placed there, but it's there nonetheless. That's what i thought. And the word use is meaningless anyway, as i already made my point clear. You cant say i used the wrong word and therefore THAT must be my point when i've already made it clear what my view is.

Yeah, South Africa has caucassian people, that's true.......but for the most part Africa is associated with darker-skinned people.

Maybe I've just missed this in another thread, but I'm having serious issues respecting RE5 for what it represents. The world, and the US in particular, really has no need to have their 15 year olds pretending to be a white guy demolishing Afro-Caribbeans for being "infected" or whatever the term will be this time around.

I'm a huge fan of the series thus far, but this turn is just wrong IMO.

What do you guys think?

These men and women are trying to make it inthere after-life and us who take such great pride in being "alive" have to ruin it for them. I think that's a problem mainly in America and the UK. Basically because of slavery and oppression. Black people have been kept down for so long until finally being granted some degree of equality. I think right now we're sort of in a cooling off period between black people being second class citizens and black and white people being one in the same. Right now it's sort of like an apologetic era where everything and anything can be racist unless it's against a white guy. It's not right, but that's just the way it is until not being able to sit on the bus and being racially discriminated isn't so fresh in people's minds.

A saviour? in what sense? By destroying them? As for there existence being "rubbish" that is nearly your opinion. Having watched the trailer again, i think the main problem stems from the fact that very few of the people being shot, or punched in the face, actually look like zombies. Particularly the scene of a mob carrying machetes and scythes; it just looked like a large gathering of dirty, deshevaled, incredibly pissed off black people being gunned down by a clean, muscular white man.

I dont care what "vibe" you get. And still you whine on about "undertone" when i already said so many times; people will pick up undertones of racism in this game. That doesn't mean i think they were deliberately placed there. And even after you first started whining about the word "undertone" i said fine, use a different word then, because my point is that they dont want the game to be racist but people are gonna think it is.

Honestly, after all your childish "shut up" and "you fail" i think it's absolutely undeniable that if anyone has failed here it's you. Because you've resorted to telling somebody else that despite them saying a game is not racist FIFTY BILLION TIMES, you're getting a "vibe" that they think it is.

Have you taken the time to sit down and ask a member of the Undead what they want in there after-life? Or if they were happy? Or instead do you "shoot first, ask questions later"? Yes there motivations of eating flesh/brains may seam simple to some. But how are they any different than us. What motivates us? Making money, being successful and so on. The bottom line is that we are all trying to survive. No man has the right to say another man existence is pointless.

There are so many people who have just completely missed the point here entirely. "It's not racist that's so stupid!" It's not racist - racism is the act of hatred based on race - the point is that you are playing as white guy, gunning down hordes of incredibly realistic poverty-stricken black people who dont look anywhere near enough like zombies. It's harrowing, and feels uncomfortable to watch. Like the TC said, 15 year old americans dont need to be playing this sort of thing.

Haven't seen the dozen replies lately but he did make a good arguement.. initially.. The game isn't racist but may prove to be unsettling to some... I find it hard to understand why so many posters don't grasp this concept.

Well maybe I can clear things up abit... I agree that the game isn't meant to be racist. And anyone who takes a look at it and says so, without knowing the series background or the story line for the game, are simply ignorant. However, being the fact that it is a white guy gunning down blacks, I can understand how some people would find it unsettling. It's not that they are racist or that they're looking for something to argue about... it's that the mere dipicting of the act make it uneasy to look at...

This mostly stems from an individual who has experienced some sort of racially motived hate in there lives.. or (in the Blacks case) have witnessed their parents go through this sort of thing and are alittle bitter because of it(and rightfully so). But to simply ignore this sort of thing is a tad bit ignorant in itselft.. You don't tell Blacks to simply ignore what happened during the Slavery or Civil Rights eras.. You don't tell Jews to simply ignore what happened in the Holocaust.. Have we Amercans simply ignored what happened on Sep 11?

I understand that you just see it as a video game.. and that's great.. I love the fact that you gamers don't look at this game and immediately say "teh Racist".. However sometimes you have to understand what motivates others that think differently than you. You can't call them "Stupid" or "Dumb" because you're not trying to understand their point of view. Opinions vary and we're all entitled to em.. But atleast know ALL sides before you condemn..
