That's the whole point of G-Sync. Doing it the other way around, i.e. tying FPS to a refresh rate is called V-Sync.

Futhermore, if FPS lock is coded into the game it doesn't care what setting you have in your Nvidia control panel.

As far as Control panel goes, 30 is "maximum framerate" in AK in-game.

Also, AK Benchmark doesn't have this FPS lock.

You posted some screenshots to prove that you're running above 30 with no config tweaks, but none of the in-game ones have an FPS counter.

Works perfect for me and the benchmark averaged 59fps with V-Sync on on a single 970+4790K+16GB RAM but why is it capped at 30fps in-game? Even without Vsync.

@R10nu: Screen says refresh rate not FPS.

I posted a screen showing the refresh rate override works. Since batman is tied to windows refresh rate. I have my monitor set to 120 in windows.

But noobs are noobs lol.

Already got a refund. I'd wait but I want to play this too much as the game itself is awesome. Also, if you think that's bad, you should see the game trying to keep up while racing through the streets in the Batmobile.

Nothing to do with PC gaming, this is about contracting the PC port job out to some cheap-ass, no-name, third-rate developer hack. It's so incompetently done it's unbelievable. Damnit, first the Batmobile cancellation, now this. Rocksteady's reputation is going to be seriously tarnished on this release. This is probably not even their fault. I suspect they're heartbroken at seeing something they worked so hard on in this state, and bet Warner Bros is at fault for going the cheap route as they foot the bill.

So they release a "game ready driver"... But don't even put the newest SLI profile into it.

It does, and it's a very good idea. It's like a very nearly decent scene in a film that a director begrudgingly takes out. The Batmobile can't just be good, it needs to be great, because they have to build the whole game around it. It's likely why the city design has changed. The roads are different. There doesn't seem to be stand out land marks. You play City or Origins, you get to know where everything is fairly quickly. A lot of the time I'm just following the arrows on the road, I just leave point A and end up at point B.

The Batmobile sections so far are good, just not good enough imo. And the pace changes between car and on foot can feel a bit weird after a while.

That said, it looks amazing and the cars animations are crazy It's just made up of so many moving parts. It's one of the coolest Batmobiles.

PC was always the best way to play Batman....wtf Rocksteady? We shouldn't have to go through all this nonsense to unlock the FPS and blah blah blah....my only gripe with PC gaming is all this unnecessary shit that consoles don't have to bother with.

The script is laughable, I haven't touched Arkham City in 4 years, and it's not like Asylum wasn't stupid, but it wasn't this obviously stupid. The shit that is coming out of people's mouths is corny beyond words. Not just Blab's boy Conroy either, Gordon, Ivy, all of them so far.

The combat feels like they made it more mashy, and I'm playing it on hard. So either counter windows became huge which is one or, you can just tap x all day, and catch someone perfectly and keep the flow going. Which in Asylum (I recently went back through Asylum) if you go off rhythm for one button press, you lose your free flow. Knight is way better animated (and holy shit does Batman animate nicely), but coming off Asylum recently, I'd argue at least Asylum's combat had a level of satisfaction to it. This has been less engaging for it.

The batmobile is so fucking corny. It's a fucking tank, not one with poor gamefeel or anything, but their idea of going one step further after Asylum and City, was make a fucking tank section that also happens to have racetracks? As much work as they put into it, the Batmobile comes off like the studio was fishing because they ran out of good ideas. The Batmobile is the gameplay equivalent of filler. It's either for dull chases that are just like everything else in the open world genre, or you have those really simple strafe and shoot minigame going on that isn't challenging, isn't interesting, isn't varied, isn't anything. It's just dull and simple, and it couldn't even be argued it provides spectacle or some interesting context. The former is nonexistent, and the latter it is almost always contrived when you are forced into the batmobile.

The riddler who in Asylum tries to match wits with Batman with a series of riddles: yes it was glorified pixel hunting in 3d, but it was something that fit the character

In Arkham City he tries to match wits with Batman with a series of puzzles.

In Arkham Knight ...he is match wits with Batman with a series of time trials for the batmobile?

Bitch are you are serious?

Forget the port issues, a patch can fix those, Rocksteady choked is the bigger storyline here for me. It's not bad mind you, it's still a good game. But this is how they wanted to go out after Asylum and CIty? This is their finisher? It's straight up disappointing.

Why do I never have these issues? I had very few problems with AC Unity (a bit of pop in but nothing serious) Far Cry 4 was just fine, GTA V runs like a dream and I run The Witcher 3 on Ultra, with full Hairworks at 1440p and get 40fps, which is apparently impossible!

Test ran mostly around the 60 mark (+/- 5), min score was just as it loaded and it peaked 80 just as I took the screen shot :) FRAPS was running and it matched bench scores, not sure when I switched off the overlay for screenshots.

I'll see how the games goes, less than an hour is probably too soon for a sure result.

i7 4770k, GTX 780ti, 16Gb RAM

I know you're suppose to start with a City like suit and then upgrade, but i haven't see it in videos. Did they downgrade the suit or something?

Got the game to work at 60 fps with everything maxed with some ini setting fixes.

Though, there doesn't seem to be any ambient occlusion. Or not enough anyways.

It was fairly similar but I was finding that it locks to 30fps every now again, which is odd. At the moment it's getting re-installed because I screwed the ini file messing about with getting Motion Blur switched off (why the **** it doesn't have a menu option for it, I'll never know) and seeing if I can dig out the frame rate lock, problem is I didn't back it up first, oops!

I'd say my verdict at the moment is that it's a poorly optimised port. It's as if the guys working on it didn't really now how to adjust UE4 settings. No crashes, no lock ups or freezes, no juddering. It's just not tweaked well and there are no where near enough graphical options in the menu. Nothing that shouldn't be fixed in short order

Try it out. This is what fixed my issues. Combined with unlocking the fps cap.

Well actually, I didn't have any issues in the first place but I did this, so.... Yeah.

It's a fucking tank, not one with poor gamefeel or anything, but their idea of going one step further after Asylum and City, was make a fucking tank section that also happens to have racetracks? As much work as they put into it, the Batmobile comes off like the studio was fishing because they ran out of good ideas. The Batmobile is the gameplay equivalent of filler. It's either for dull chases that are just like everything else in the open world genre, or you have those really simple strafe and shoot minigame going on that isn't challenging, isn't interesting, isn't varied, isn't anything. It's just dull and simple, and it couldn't even be argued it provides spectacle or some interesting context. The former is nonexistent, and the latter it is almost always contrived when you are forced into the batmobile.

The riddler who in Asylum tries to match wits with Batman with a series of riddles: yes it was glorified pixel hunting in 3d, but it was something that fit the character

In Arkham City he tries to match wits with Batman with a series of puzzles.

In Arkham Knight ...he is match wits with Batman with a series of time trials for the batmobile?

Forget the port issues, a patch can fix those, Rocksteady choked is the bigger storyline here for me. It's not bad mind you, it's still a good game. But this is how they wanted to go out after Asylum and CIty? This is their finisher? It's straight up disappointing.

I have to agree. I can't help but miss the other games playing this. As much as a filler the Batmobile is, the problem is that they had to build the game around it.

I can't put my finger on it, but it just somehow feels less of a Batman game. Like it could have been about anyone. Am I wrong?

And the graphical style has been changed since last gens Arkham games, the problem that is, the previous art style matched the gothic direction they were going for, the current one isn't as gothic, so the old sound track that they brought over doesn't match. This games needs something a little more Hanz Zimmer and something a lot less Danny Elfman imo. This struck me early on.

It's not as engrossing. You could just get lost in the old Arkham games. The control layout seems like it has been changed for the sake of it.

The upgrade screens look like a convoluted mess. I have upgrade points, but I don't know how to spend them until I need them.

It is disappointing.

I'd be okay just casually playing it, but I've waited so long for this game, and I don't want certain things spoiled. So I kind of have to force my way through some of this nonsense.

Frame rate lock is easy to find. Go to your Steam folder/Steamapps/common/Batman/BMGame/config. Find the file BmSystemSettings.ini find the line that reads MaxFPS=30.000000 and change to MaxFPS=60.000000, or what ever you want it to be.

You can pretty much change all the settings in this .ini file, as usual with Unreal Engine games. Have fun.

Game performs on par with the benchmark tool, that's one ugly Batman model though.
