@Shewgenja: you're talking about too many NC threads, well have you seen the number on PSVR threads?
BC is a great feature, I think I use it 1-2% of the time because there are also a lot of new games I love to play. You don't play BC titles as much since you've already played them obviously. How many people are still playing UC4 currently you think? The answer is probably less than BC titles on Xbox One
@kvally: Aah its all for laughs, dude. I use BC. Next thing a Sony exec will state refunds for digital purchases are rarely used and cows will scoff at the fact Xbox offers it but Sony doesnt.
@kingtito: Your butthurt essays and meltdowns in this thread and PSVR threads say tell the whole story. You write paragraphs and pages worthy of butthurt and tears about products you claim not to care about. Your post history is very clear and open compared to mine. ? You're butthurt and obsessed with PS4 because it's destroying your precious FlopBone this gen.
"?No I'm not butthurt, it is you! Xbone is the bestest evar!!!1" LMAO KingButthurt, never change.
IF you're calling those essays then you're pretty sad. You're on a gaming forum where all you do is read and you're complaining about any response longer then 2 sentences hahahaha pathetic
Anyway the only person having a meltdown is you son. Can't handle the fact that the Scorpio will put the PS4/Pro graphics behind it as well as PC. Can't handle the fact the PSVR is selling like shit and was lower than Sony originally expected.
LOLOLOLOL you're a transparent as a piece of cellophane. You're a troll, a butthurt cow that can't stand anyone having a differing opinion from Sony's, oops I mean yours. Your only response to anyone is "you're having a meltdown, you're butthurt!!!" <--- you in a nutshell
What does it matter what games you non game non PS4 owning cow? It's up to the devs to make them BC but at least there's a choice. What choice do cows have? Not you since you'd have to own a PS4 in order to have choices.
So you're saying a paid service is better than free? Hahahahah well good thing for you PSNow works on other devices since you not owning a PS4 excludes you from being able to play on it.
And you missed the point of you not owning a PS4, X1 or capable gaming PC. Why are you even here?
Oh there he goes running to hide on lies,if i don't own a PS4 you don't own an xbox one..hahhaaha
The choice you have is a broken one, with few games being supported.
Oh really isn't that what you hypocrite lemmings claim about live last gen? PSN was free live cost money,so how was live better vs PSN but PS Now isn't vs the broken crap you call BC.?
Ps Now work on many devices, and like i already stated if i don't own a PS4 you don't own an xbox one,you don't talk about games here for any platform all you do is cry about cows and complain because cows don't share your vision of greatness of the xbox one..hahahaha
210 million hours in 1 year.
10 hours of play X 20 million xbox one owners = 200 million hours..
Since you claim 50% of the userbase use it that means.
20 hours of gameplay X 10 million users = 200 million hours.
Basically what those xbox one owners played the services was for a gran total of 20 hour in 365 which is a joke,in 365 days they played 20 hours.
MS own numbers confirm it.
Except I shared my gamer tag el tormented. I can prove it...you can't and before you say that pic you showed is proof, it's not. Anyone can take a pic in front of a PS4 and call it theirs. Give up your gamer tag and prove it.
300 games is few? Hell I'll take that 300 free than paying for a streaming version of BC that Sony has tried to sucker you cows into paying for.
You kind of got me on that one. PSN was shit but it was free.
Gamer tag proves it El tormented. You're sooo sad you can't even share yours probably because you don't have one. Not owning a PS4 probably has something to do with that.
Nah it isnt a chore but the fact remains how many of us have our PS4's turned on while we arent using it to play a game watch Netflix? I only turn mine on in order to play a game. I dont even use Netflix or any other app service on it because my X1S is on whenever the TV is turned on because it controls the TV, cable in my home. And I only play games basically wed afternoon in the Sea of Thieves alpha and on Fri-Sunday. So all those hours the X1S is turned on but none are for gaming because I still watch sports, movies, news. The HDMI pass through control feature destroys the validity of this data to a large degree.
LOL, according to the data, TV only takes up 6.7%. Heck, even ignoring all the non-gaming use, backwards compatibility would only rise to a mere 2.7% of the total gaming time. What's next? People leave Xbox One games paused while they go eat/sleep/post online, artificially inflating that number to appear more popular?
@Heil68: Good for you, pal. Multiple other X1 owners have agreed with me. We use it as the hub of our entertainment center. Just too convenient not to.
entertainment hub? lolok
Yep. My entertainment center contains a Sony Bravia 46" 4K HDR tv, an X1S and PS4 Pro and Spectrum cable box. The only device that isnt controlled by the X1S in that entertainment center is PS4 Pro.
I just didn't get use out of it, I do have X1 turn on my Tv and receiver though.
I think the poll is slightly misleading as Xbox One has no games, so I think people are reporting watching Animu and trying to navigate the OS as gaming.
The funny thing is cows are here trying to say BC is irrelevant because of usage levels, but anyone thats actually a gamer acknowledges the value of it. Of course the usage levels arent high, most people that had a 360 already played the games. But the option for them to be available is valuable.
Cows are here trying to spin that MS is concentrating more on BC than new games, which isnt true or that they keep all their old consoles so its irrelevant. So what happens when your old console finally breaks down and wont turn on?
Instead of concentrating on 'nobody uses BC' what cows need to be paying attention to is the fact that one of Playstation's top execs basically just openly admitted that Playstation isnt going to support BC going forward, and not only that scoffed at Playstation gamers that ask for it.
His statements are just as myopic and haughty as the Xbox execs back at the Xbox One launch and its really not a good look for Playstation.
Two biggest quotes from the interview:
"It is one of those features that is much requested, but not actually used much."
"They looked ancient, like why would anybody play this?"
Sony fans are now like Apple fans, where their favorite company tells them what they want and Sony fans eat it up.
But thats not what you said. You said, "that people don't care about BC". When I dont care about someone or thing, I dont speak of it. In fact it never crosses my mind. I am a person, so when you state "people dont care" that obviously includes me. People wouldnt highly request a feature if they didnt care about it. 1 million people may not use it much but that doesnt cover the other 24 million or so.
"but not actually used much"= People don't care.
Just like the thread on GAF forum : Everyone wants it, no one uses it
And your proof is Jim Ryan saying that, and 1 million X1 owners, ignoring 24 million other X1 owners. Yet Parrapa the Rapper and Wipeout (old games) have/are being remastered and released.
Highly requested=people care.
"but not actually used much"
That's the main part!. I don't use it. I don't care about BC. Played one PS2 game on PS3 10 years ago. So, i didn't used BC much = DON'T CARE
@VERTIGO47: If your butthurt tirade in here is "chill" I'd hate to see you when you're truly upset. You're having a meltdown in here, it's clear for all to see. It's like the OP really pinched a nerve with you.
Prachter is an idiot and you're even a bigger idiot for listening to him
Who's listening him? I'd never said that. I could mention any analyst, just Patcher came to my mind. So, if he ( or every other analyst ) can make a prediction for something, so can i.
System Wars: OMG YU GAIZ! NEW LIST OF BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE GAMEZ!! BE HYPE! SUFFER YOUR PSNow, plebeian backwoods PS4 gamerz!! Microsoft is FOR THE GAMERS BY THE GAMERS!
@loe12k: Dat late damage control. What is the actual usage time though? Saying 50% have tried it doesn't disprove the OP that only 1.5% of Xbone time is spent with the feature.

LOL thats rich because I have talked to multiple forums members here that say most of the bitch ass cows here are too fucking chicken shit to even get online and play with other people from the forums. Half you pussies are afraid to give out your gamertags or get on a mic.
So that's an average of about 32 hours of BC usage per user. That's not as abysmal as previously thought, but still not impressive.
Yep 32 hours of gameplay per player in almost 2 years of BC..
32 x 60 minutes = 1920 minutes
Backward compatibility has been out for more than a year and a half so lets say 547 days.
1920 minutes divided by 547 days = 3.5 minutes of gameplay per day... hahahahaa
This is totally abysmal which is why MS spreading it into millions of hours hoping to hook he Morons into believing that they are doing great.

Oh you mean your friends gamertag?
Hahahahaaa remember since you don't give credibility to the facts presented to you,you should receive non as well.
Yeah and i took the PS4 home put it in from of my TV while i am replying to you and took a shot, then ran to walmart and put it back...
Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...
Oh boy how arguments change because last gen suckers such as your self would pay for live when PSN was free,i guess arguments change from gen to gen for lemmings in almost every single way...hahahahaa
Yeah PSN was so shit that had 30 vs 30 games sections on dedicated servers when Halo 3 was half way there, when Gears could not even handle properly 4 vs 4,warhawk was doing 32 players on huge stages with flying planes, tank, jeeps, jet pack, while Resistance 2 was doing 8 players co-op and mag doing 256 players on a huge battlefield yeah on dedicated servers you were paying $50 then $60 for P2P..lol
Did i mention Home? downloadable MODS like UT3 which was totally unsupported on xbox live?
Yeah PSN was crap because it didn't have party chat..hahahah which activision even blocks in some modes in COD do to cheating.
But hey XBO backward compatibility is shit, and most of the 300 games are old ass arcade games and indies with few retail games, many of the games that made the xbox 360 great are simply not supported blind lemming, but at least you have something right..
Now if you only had that mentality last gen, when the PS3 had more than 5,000 games by backward compatibility,oh wait back then lemmings didn't care because the 360 didn't suck game wise.
@Pedro said:
Did Sony Shut Down this service? Or is it still operating with 450 backward compatible games?
Great so Netflix is Blu-ray and DVD backward compatibility? But then again so was blockbuster, gamefly and any place that rent you a game, which is what PS Now does.
You lemmings are a joke..ahahahaa
Oh did you miss MS gamepass is a service where they also rent you xbox 360 games...hahahaa
@metalslimenite: please, this thread is a joke. The stupid shit Sony fanboys will say just to think they are 'winning' is LOL.
The saddest part is cows dont even see the Sony exec basically just said 'f*ck our fans' to your faces but used the old cow trick of throwing an Xbox negative on the end of it and you are all cheering.
I hope Sony announces the PS5 at E3 now and sticks that spiked PS Move in good n deep. LOL
Yes and its own numbers prove how sad and low the gameplay hours are,500 million hours may seen like allot to some one as shallow minded as you,but for us who can do the math, yeah is not impressive in any way,in fact is not even meh worthy.
32 x 60 minutes = 1920 minutes
Backward compatibility has been out for more than a year and a half so lets say 547 days.
1920 minutes divided by 547 days = 3.5 minutes of gameplay per day
Half the xbox one user base has play their xbox 360 games on xbox one for exactly 3 and half minute a day...lol
Worse is you can actually read between lines ( i know you can't) he clearly say 50% has PLAYED not that PLAY..
Did Sony Shut Down this service? Or is it still operating with 450 backward compatible games?

Wow, that is your counter? LMAO. No! really, thats your counter. GTFO. All of what you see on Netflix; outside of Netflix originals, can be played on a Blu-ray device. And guess what, a Blu ray device is BC with DVD. Netflix does not exist because devices CANNOT play DVD or Blu Ray. Oh, shit, your point was rekted. I am sorry, you got to try harder next time.
Can you play any PS3 games you already own without PSNow? Oh! No. Well thats so sad.
Can you play any PS4 games on PSNow? Oh! No. Well thats equally sad.
Can you play the PS3 or PS4 games with PSNow utilizing the full power of the PS4? Oh! No, not again. That's so sad its funny.
Oh! I didn't realized that you owned yourself. I am so so sorry. I didn't mean to cause you to harm oneself. But feel free to try again. Next time it would be a winner. :)
An average 32 hours of gameplay per player is abysmal for such a hugely touted feature. No wonder MS PR is combining it with total number of hours played.
The same old embarrassing spin we are used to seeing them doing this gen with all things Xbone related.

My first post was all LOL over this thread. Mogly responded to me and
I responded to what Mogly said, YOU couldn't keep your fingers from typing because you have NO LIFE, decided to respond to me.
Yup, I pinched a nerve in you, keep your meltdowns low, I don't want global warming to get to catastrophic levels.
lol to think that lemmings Act like BC was the most important feature on the xb1, but then again a console with nothing but flops so the lemmings here are desperate for anything xb1 has to offer
BC should never be the primary reason for purchasing a new console or eclipse the usage of new/fresh experiences. If you find yourself playing older titles more than newer titles then there is a problem:
You purchased the console without doing research. There are several conferences per discussing proposed titles. It's not as if a fantastic triple A title is going to pop out of nowhere.
The brand (whether that is Sony, MS or Nintendo) is not providing enough new content for you.
BC is simply a feature that isn't used much. It's just a novelty that's nice to have. For me the only real benefit that BC would offer is to save space but I don't mind having my PS3 directly beneath my PS4.
I also see PS Now, Remasters/Remakes and the PS2 to PS4 program being thrown around in an attempt to try and show some hypocrisy on Sony's end when that is wrong.
PS Now: Should not be mentioned in discussions regarding backwards compatibility. It is a subscription based service streaming service that offers you access to a library where you may or may not have owned a title in the past. This is also available on PC and Sony TV's (until recently where it was discontinued). It's easier to implement because it's being streamed but is also subject to issues with your network.
Remasters/Remakes:This has no bearing on backwards compatibility either. Remasters and remakes are essentially new titles with additional work being done and in some instances new content is provided. Backwards compatibility is simply the ability to play a title in it's original state with your current generation machine. This is also an area where you may or may not have owned a title in the past. TLoU is a prime example. There were plenty of people who held of for hopes of a PS4 remaster and were rewarded.
PS2 to PS4: No one is forcing anyone to rebuy titles they owned previously. This program was instituted to offer new Playstation customers the opportunity to enjoy some of the older titles that the Playstation brand was built on.
The conversation really ends at sales. You have two competing products. The product that does not have BC outsold the product that does and by a sizable margin. Gamers want newer titles over the rare occasion of popping in a title to satisfy the nostalgia bug.
The real issue with Jim Ryans original commentary was regarding Gran Turismo. It's not really a matter of why but how often. People do want to play older titles and revisit classics. The question is, how often do they want to do that?
An average 32 hours of gameplay per player is abysmal for such a hugely touted feature. No wonder MS PR is combining it with total number of hours played.
The same old embarrassing spin we are used to seeing them doing this gen with all things Xbone related.

Keep on Crying Sweetheart.
A couple things to note are that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 managed to rank in the top 10 best sellers after hitting Xbox One backward compatibility. Even 5 years later, the game is managing to sell boat loads of copies.
Red Dead Redemption Sales Jump 6000% After Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Announcement
Sales of Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption - Game of the Year Edition on Xbox 360 have skyrocketed since the announcement that Rockstar's acclaimed open-world game will be playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility.
Amazon's Movers & Shakers list, which tracks sales ranking and notes increases, lists a 6329% rise for Red Dead Redemption and currently lists it at as the 17th most popular video game on the site. It was previously at No. 1093.

It's a useless feature?
Working overtime with that damage control. 6000% of zero is still zero lol.
? 1.5% Ouch! Fact is people would rather spend time watching Netflix and Youtube on the Bone than playing any game with BC.
"Our analysis used a third-party API to randomly sample usage data from nearly one million active Xbox One Gamertags over a period of nearly five months"
Why do people feel the need to post flawed data and try to use it to rationalize things?

PSNow is the only way you can access PS3 games on the PS4 and currently only plays last gen and older games. Making it relevant to any conversation about BC or having access to older games on current gen systems.
If want to be all technical, Xbox One does not have BC because it requires the games to be downloaded and the games have been recompiled specifically for the Xbox One platform. Your disc only serves the purpose of proof a valid licensee. So, one can effectively argue there is no BC for any of the current platforms.
