Gonna wait for a price drop.
i love historical aspects of it ...
LOL!!! How much did Ubisoft pay Gamespot to have that score?
GI gave it a 90 as well.
No... No.... And just no.... Assassins creed has made a mockery of their narrative and every protagonist since revelations has been an empty husk allowing you to run around "whatever world they built this year"...
I'm just not falling for it. I can see why black flag got a 9... Half the games perspective shifted, but I'm not buying this.... Guarantee side missions are still horrible and recycled as well...
Come on baby, 9.o AAA for the PS4...awwww eyahheeahhhh
I will just wait for Angry Joe's Review... The only critic I trust nowadays
Same I trust his reviews not just because of him but he does a good breakdown with video to back up all pros and cons.
As far as Gamespot I do not know how anyone can consider them very trust worthy with some of their weird reviews over the years and even worse Gerstmanngate showing they will review better for money. For me this site's reviews only matter when it comes to System Wars but would never consider it when choosing a game.
Metacritic score is at 78 now there are a lot of mixed reviews so I would do more research if I was interested in this......gone are the days where decisions can be made based on a Gamespot review......either they overscore or underscore a lot of the time
You shouldn't use Metacritic except to see what scores the more or less respected for lack of a better word give games. They do put any review in there even by unimportant sites. I mean I could make a site and score great games low to bring the average down and vice versa and it would be allowed. So I only look at the scores from specific sites and not the average anyway.
From what I've seen it's getting roughly mid 80s to 90, Not a bad score really.
Until we play the game , we have to accept the fact that maybe the good overlaps the bad that we already know. Gameplay is not limted to action sequences alone other things can more than make up for it. Havent played since part 2 tho lol
@LJS9502_basic: I know what you mean and I certainly don't make my decisions based on MC either, I take most reviews with a grain of salt honestly, I'm basically just pointing out a red flag and that if I was interested in the game, I would check out a few other second opinions that is all.
Damnit. Now I'm gonna have to play this just like Black Flag a couple years ago.
Alas, not at launch, Fallout 4 already reseverd my time for the foreseeable future! :D
Has anything happened to Desmond and that story line at all after 3?

Best review hands down for those looking for some other perspectives.
lol my friend showed me some of his other reviews.
@Zero_epyon: yes... UBIsoft made a mockery of it... Literally. Desmond isn't a thing anymore as much as ezio isn't a thing anymore... The present day story is dead and UBIsoft doesn't really know what to do with it. I'd imagine they'll keep putting awkward distance from it until the games are only about what happens inside the animus.

That's what's going to keep me from buying another one. They feel disconnected without the present day story.
@Zero_epyon: well, Desmond hasn't had a presence since ac3 (I'll spare you the spoilers if you've never played it).
In ac4 they turned abstergo into an entertainment company selling the animus as interactive experiences and Comercial products... So lame.
In unity you have a few forward flashes of weirdness, but completely vapid in term of a connective story to the original events if AC...
The problem with my outlook is that I actually enjoyed the weaving of intrigue and mystery surrounding Desmond and his lineage... It gave weight to the actions and story in an almost "Neverending story" type of way where you are entrenched in this world and conflict and periodically see the present day struggle connected. .
The story now isn't worth the zeros and ones they use to program it. That's not to say assassins creed can't have good games without their story, but it's mighty deflating to those of us who really enjoyed the ezio/Desmond/Altair games that were much more focused on narrative.
Wow what the fu** a game with zero innovation, repetitive as hell, broken as fu** and with true broken unresponsive controls and it get a 9.?
Man this is what i hate about gaming sites giving away 9's for money,is clear this is a pay review 9 my ass.
I highly doubt you've even played it so please put away your conspiracy theories El Tormented. Stick to talking about sales and graphics

WTF i have play all AC games up to ACU,they are repetitive shit, kill this dude, climb here find this treasure the elements of the games are basically the same since the first one.
Is like COD getting a 9 no matter how much it does man it has being play out,oh wait i remember now you are a lemming you like to play the same shit over and over again in a mary go round way.

So you haven't played syndicate yet right? How in the hell could you judge a game without even playing it? Oh wait that's rhetorical because everyone knows you don't actually play games so I doubt you've played what you said.
At least I play games El Tormented AND I don't talk about a game UNLESS I've played it, unlike you.

I wonder why Jessie McDonalds doesn't review games. She has better taste than other "casual" reviewers.

There was a time when I used to get pumped for new AC game due to Altair, Ezio and Desmond. The series had purpose and was heading towards an end that was already planned from the beginning (the end of the world). Now these games are just like COD games where they sell same stuff in a new skin every year without any clear direction of overall story.
Black Flag was enjoyable because it was different and best pirate game I've ever played but since AC3, the series is pretty bad. Revelation was last good AC game (BF is different beast TBH). Ezio trilogy was awesome. I moved on.
and this is why I don't listen to reviewers. AC is a 6-7/10 series at best
AC 2 is a solid 9 , 10 for me. Brotherhood as well.
It went south with AC3 ...Black Flag was great tho.
thats what i'm talking about. yeah AC1 was an 8/10 to me. AC 2 was a 9?10 as was ACR and ACB. AC3, BF, and unity are like a 6-7/10 for me. at best.

It's hard to take you seriously. While I don't disagree that AC games are same crap every year but the only reason you are acting like this is because it runs poorly on PS4 and now you are looking for an excuse to bash the game.

This is pretty much it. Put a dame in your game and good reviews are guaranteed.
@Cloud_imperium: yeah, same... I was riveted through brotherhood... Revelation was OK, but everything from 3 moving forward has been lost in terms of being excites about a resolution to Desmond story. It just doesn't exist any longer... Which for me, makes the games feel even more synthetic and paint by numbers.
@SolidGame_basic: frustrating controls = 9 out of 10 but just earlier this week frustrating controls = 5 out of 10 for Fatal Frame

I guess Fatal Frame needed a boot camp review system then maybe flaws get ignored when they are putting you up in nice hotels and feeding you in between game sessions.

I like Revelation the most from Ezio's trilogy. Anyways,,, remember this???? Back then this series was something special.

Why cant Ubisoft abandon this franchise and just make black-flag style Pirate games. They finally make something good with this series then go "oh we have gone to far from our roots, lets go back to the old shitty formula that everyone hates!"
i have no desire to play this

You can say that about 99% of the games coming out this gen. You don't have to reinvent the wheel to get 8's, 9's or even 10's. As long as what you are giving us gameplay wise and overall is great then I don't see any problems with the score. Bottomline, it's based on 1 person's opinion, doesn't mean you have to like it or anyone else but to say there's no innovation in the so it doesn't deserve a good score is short sighted cause how many games give us that anymore?
So is it out on PS4 already or is it an early review ?
Both I guess by others' posts.
You can't trust Gamespot's scores anymore. They are consistently the outlier- high or low.
I'll get it when it's free on GWG in 2 years
Ugh, I'll probably get it, I had no idea it released so soon some part of me just assumed it'd be in November, it's release date wasn't firmly in my consciousness. I'd of at least guessed it would release on a Tuesday.
I hope they fix a couple design decisions they implemented in Unity, or just fixed up on things that weren't quite right, I'll be looking for:
I'll be perfectly glad to keep my eye out for this stuff myself. Unfortunately I can't pre-install this, that requires pre-order, and I plan on getting it digitally, and for some stupid reason Xbox Live Rewards no longer gives rebates for pre-orders, but they do for normal game purchases, so I have to wait until 9pm here (9PST/12 EST) before I can even start downloading. At about 40GB I'm guessing a little over 2 hours install so I might be able to get a couple hours of play in before bed.
