Assassin's Creed Syndicate (PS4) - 9/10 from GS!

Is there one fair assumption we can make here that maybe Ubisoft avoided using Nvidia GameWorks developer support? After all if they did I'm sure we'll hear or maybe even would have heard by now of crippling performance issues. AC Unity was a GameWorks game, Batman Arkham Knight was also a GameWorks game and looked what happened to that. But this game seems all good. What gives?

Are developers finally starting to get a hint and realizing that Nvidia has been fucking everyone over with their shenanigans? I think it's quite clear Nvidia was out to sabotage AMD users, ironically it seemed to hurt everyone equally. So, what's the deal here? They very blatantly advertised the Nvidia Gameworks feature for AC Unity on PC, some simple Google searches aren't showing any chatter about GameWorks in AC Syndicate.

Nvidia gameworks has nothing to do with game performance. It's not like working with nvida cripples these games. It's up to the developers to optimize these products before release.

Actually in this case it's pretty much spot on, Alexis has been hyping AC: Syndicate for months because it has a female protagonist.

There's nothing wrong with that. VanOrd loved the series too and I believe he got a AC tattoo. 1 point off of MC isnt THAT bad.

Amazing how reviewers can overlook glaring flaws just because of "muh strong female protagonist".

It's coming with my PS4, can't say I'm too excited for it (AC, not the PS4).

Oh sorry, it has a female protagonist, so the reviewers are obviously untrustworthy sympathisers.

If you actually read the review she celebrated a lot of things besides just the female protagonist, the plot, the world, the missions, some rope launcher shit. And any time she speaks about Evie it was more in how her relationship is with her brother, and their interactions and how entertaining that stuff was. So none of it was "muh strong female protagonist". She liked a lot of aspects of that game. A lot of the reviews wouldn't fit the "muh strong female protagonist" praise, unless you really suck at comprehending English.

like I said in the comment section, with Anita endorsing the game this one will be the highest rated AssCreed game in a while.

The game hasn't change is the same shit and you can see it on video is AC as it core with a different freaking theme it is all it has being since the start,i think the series peak was ACBF which i like because of the pirates ships and all that crap,i could happily ski this one without problems.

I've liked all the games except Revelations, Unity and Rouge were weak but I still enjoyed them. This one looks like it may be the best one yet to me, I won't know until the 19th because I'm getting it on PC... May wait on it a bit actually, I might still be playing Fallout 4 at that time.

This is a rehash. Unity was a glitch fest and was awful. Get Rogue instead. Don't get the Assassin's Creed games 2 years in a row. If you're tired of them don't buy it. You're welcome. GS I don't know what to say about your reviews. *leaves thread*

The game has a 90 on GI as well. Maybe it's your bias that's the problem.

Either they legitimately came up with this score for advert monehs, or the reviewer completely forgot about the context that AC is in. AC Syndicate is the 9th AC from the main series and 22nd game overall. 22nd!!!!!!!! Series fatigue needs PUNISHMENT not encouragement!

If Kevin were still assigned to this series I guarantee you it would not get a 9.

I know, complaining about reviews is often such a waste of time. But this series... this series will keep going and going and going, if everyone encourages it then it will not end any time soon.

The whole "vote with your wallet" bullshit doesn't work when the audience that buys this every year doesn't even know what the **** they're missing out on. Imagine, a world where 10 sequels were not considered normal... It would be a better world, I think. while I agree with you on the "don't like it? Don't buy it" I do think the reason people are complaining about the review it's simply because they don't trust the reviewer. She might genuinely like the game or don't but there are so many coincidences like Anita endorsing the game, and Alexa being previously a Polygon writer and then she hyping up the game before release because there's a woman in it... Then you have the usual suspects that are drinking the PC kool-aid rating it high while most other websites are assassinating its metascore with scores as low as a 4/10 from Telegrapgh.

But this being a forum, coming up with conspiracy theories it's what we do man. Unless you wanna go to Neogaf where you're told what to think an if you don't then get banned.

I know that, I'm just displaying some wishful thinking here while you're trying to instill passivity... I DO genuinely want other consumers to be a little bit more conscious of what they're doing when they buy their 5th, 6th, 7th and so on AC game. They're not just buying a game that they might enjoy for 10 hours. They're buying Ubisoft 1 more year to waste creative energy on a tired franchise.

Let's compare this to the state of the environment. Consuming normal products and using normal electricity encourages the current model of fossil fuels, mass production of foods, etc. etc. Buying things just because they are immediately gratifying and easy to enjoy has consequences, it cheapens the product, it encourages the opportunistic capitalism that has infected almost every business model in effect today.

It's not as simple as "buy what you enjoy". If it were that simple, I would buy every AAA game that I was ever interested in.

Sigh, and Zelda Wii/NX will probably be a 6/7 for being too similar to its predecessors SMH
