Meaning that you can't say they're "real actual, qualified journalists" and GI staff are not.
All reviews are sheer opinions, that's all.
Saw my cousin play this yesterday, and looks quite cool. I think I'll pick it up after I finish Halo 5.
@mjorh: I used that review because it was the lowest on MC as a counter example to Game Informer also giving AC:S a 90 because yeah they're all opinions, you're reading too much into my post.
To be honest though I'm far more inclined to believe that the reporters who work for the Telegraph are far more likely to be qualified and have an actual education in journalism, as opposed to the bloggers that most gaming websites employ for game reviews. I've seen amateur forum posters create far better game reviews than the gibberish that some, so called, 'professional' game reviewers spew out.
These days, if I want to see whether a game is potentially good or not, I'll go to the Steam user reviews for a balanced view.

Yeah , i tend to check reviews of the websites which i know for a while and i can factor what they say in like Eurogamer, Gameinformer, Gametrailers etc , steam user reviews and the impressions expressed here and finally i check out some Youtube reviews like Angry Joe. As for GI , i know their reviewers and i listen to their podcast and the reviewer explains his or her experience so it's a good source for me , for instance the reviewer who gave 9 to AC Syndicate is a generous one and doesn't take it much seriously (i'm kinda like that too :D) (he gave Bioshock Infinite 10 and i agree with him). Overall, you can pretty much get the idea and one should not explicitly rely on website reviews, for instance Mad Max got some bad reviews and MC score of 71 i guess but i hear ppl liking it so i'm more inclined to get the game.
And i don't take anyone as "professional" reviewer, i considered Kevin as a great reviewer yet he gave 7 to Batman AK , the game which i can easily give 9 to, long story short it's just a matter of opinion and i respect that.
Really poor review that glosses over and just flat out doesn't mention problems with the game. Getting a fanboy/fangirl of a series to review a game is pretty worthless when I think reviews should discuss the pros and cons of a game to people who aren't informed about it. This review doesn't do that and just gushes about the game from a fan girls perspective.
I haven't played the game but watching the quick look I already noticed a ton of problems. All the enemies look the same, the combat looks really similar to unity's awful combat, stealth still looks bad, crowds are lifeless and don't react to anything. Also, why the **** are there still microtransactions in a single player game with no multiplayer?
Anyone feel the movement and animation is even worse in this game? It's like the character struggles to move and respond. The way they are animated too.
I much prefer how it looked and controlled in AC2, Brotherhood, And black flag to some extent. It's like it gets worse with each game. They really need to take a break and reassess what they are doing with their game engine and just reboot the series with new ideas, fresh ideas and design.

Struggle all you like, I was talking about MC as a whole. He's using it as some sort of fact when in reality it's a list of reviewers opinions with some being worth more than others according to MC. Not sure how I'm dismissing others opinions but rather dismissing MC.
