[QUOTE="linkyshinks"][QUOTE="KrazyKenKutarag"][QUOTE="linkyshinks"][QUOTE="BreakingPoint8"] I don't see the problem, they said a long time ago it wasn't going to be a traditional platformer.
Everything I've seen so far looked fun to play and I'm excited to get my hands on it.
(Yes I played the originals for the N64 when they came out, times change, hardware changes and as such gameplay needs to change. Have faith in the people who brought you the original games, they're the ones who made this decision.)

For me it was always the direction that the Stamper Bros imbued into the early platformers that made them special.
I agree with some of the commnts above that point out the fact it could well be a great game, but like I say in my initial post, how on earh can it be considerd a platformer when 80% of the game is devoted to traversing the enviroment on vehicles.
The Stamper Bros didn't have much to do at all with either Banjo's, neither of them were in charge of the Banjo games.
What!, it was Chris Stamper that initiated the whole project with want to create a platform game to rival SM64, Mayles took hold of the project but the project was under the Stamper Bros eyes throughout.
I read this on the live chat transcript:
Perfect Rare: Now that you are the person in charge of the title, can you give us something you chose to do you would not have been able when the 'brothers' were still there? Could you name one?
Gregg Mayles: I was in charge of all the Banjo games, so nothing has changed. Boring answer I know...You wanted scandal, didn't you?
I also remember another Rare dev stating something similar to the quote above, but I cannot find it.
I am not disputing that, like I say I know he was the Designer, I have also read the end credits. What I am suggesting is that the Stamper Bros played a large role in the direction of all those early N64 games, like Killer Instinct and Banjo and Co. I recall reading a interview in Mean Machines Magazine (UK) back in the day where Chris said he would be taking a hands on role to establish themselves on the new platform with a creation of a game to rival SM64.
I tried looking for the very interview but unfortunately they do not hold interviews in their archive :(
