READ THE ACTUAL REVIEW. WATCH THE VIDEO REVIEW. IT'S MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE NUMBER IT GOT. it's still the same game no matter what it scored.

gamespot doesn't review games so that you guys can argue about it here. they aren't interested in showing you what you want to see.

EDIT: Does anyone know when the PC review will be up? This is the version of the game I intend to get.

I'm still scratching my head as too why people would complain about a AAA score or for that matter claim a AAA game flopped. Crazy times here in SW.

BioShock is the best game of the year so far, what more could you want?

I think Jeff let himself down with the written review, but he made up for it with the video. (I hope that doesn't count as jeff bashing... i assume by that you mean all the childish jibes from the upset fanboys?)

Anywho, i'm not talking about the score itself - and if you're sad about a 9.0 you probably deserve to be upset :P - but the review itself was pretty poor. He seemed to focus far too much on the negetives and didn't even touch on some features that other sites made quite a fuss about. Also, the plot is the very core of the game and not nearly enough emphasis was put on this.

But the video review made up for all that. It's a shame the write-up didn't have all the clarity, detail and praise the video had. It would appear that some fanboys literally need a guy to go on camera and say "YOU SHOULD BUY THIS GAME" if a title gets less than a 10. Anything else, and darn it, it's probably not worth playing.

okay, score aside, I am worried that the fun factor will be limited to one playthrough because of the difficulty (lack of it, actually)

You misunderstand me. I'm not saying the game is a dissapointment, hell no, that review makes me want to get it even more, just that I was hoping it would get a 9.5, so this is a bit of a letdown for those hopes, that's all. 9.0 is by no means a bad score, I'm quite happy with it in reality.

The system is broken. It should've been changed when Gamespot's reviewing method changed. Now there are only 2 possible scores for each level of quality, A, AA, AAA, compared to the 10 before. Something's gotta give.

It's a great games. 9/10 is a great score. It was hyped AAA and it got AAA. There is absolutely no reason to complain. Be happy. :D

Forza_2, i've explained this more times than the energy is worth. I think then four individual posters take the trouble to post just to ask me why i'm bothering to even reply, it's apparent that whatever beef you have is going nowhere.

You never seem to explain what your point is. Only have a pop at me. I'm not sitting here just to go round and round in circles with some guy who has last-word issues and after hundreds of posts still cannot tell me what his opinion even is and why he's taking such exception to every word i say regardless of what it is.

Many people. There were genuine complaints regarding the sheer number of games he seems to have reviewed differently to what you find with everybody else (myself included) and there were the usual plethora of fanboys with childish insults because they want a superficial number to be higher.

Indeed, it is saying that it is the best game to be released thus far this year....easily. At least that is how I am perceiving it.

Judging by the demo, there's no problem with the 360's controls for Bioshock. The only limitations they have are just your natural console limitations. The PC's are also definitely more streamlined and it's a lot easier in particular to change plasmids and tonics and such, not to mention aim accurately which is always the case. That's also judging by the demo.

OK, I get it. Well, BioShock has some small flaws, its unfortunate but true. Does that somehow distract from the pure awesome of the game itself? :lol: No freakin' way man!
