Amazing how the cows are suddenly clamoring for this game because of a single file buried somewhere in the code. I thought you didn't need it because you all had PC's that could run it...LMAO.

PS3 VERSION OF BIOSHOCK SLIGHTLY CONFIRMED IN PC DEMO!!
http://www.psu.com/BioShock-for-the-PS3-Confirmed,-Yet-Again-News--a1012-p0.phpAccording to a config.ini log taken directly from the source of the BioShock PC demo, it appears once and for all this game is coming to PS3.
The file is located at the following filepath for the game:
Program Files/2k Game/Bioshock demo/Content/config.ini
ConsoleConsole (XBox360, PS3) specific settingsStreamingDynamicFloatingLimit:If this is a positive number, then instead of using the fixed per-levellimits, the StreamingDynamic resource will use as much memory as isavailable as long as the total memory allocated by the game is less than
the specified number. In other words, StreamingDynamic will grow and
shrink to fit to the available memory instead of being locked to a fixed
budget StreamingDynamicFloatingLimit=500Clearly 2K Games would be in serious fog if they were to pull out a "no comment" card here, or a typical "this was a mistake," because clearly, all the evidence points to BioShock hitting the PlayStation 3 console in the Spring of 2008, perhaps even sooner.
Keep your eyes on PSU for more BioShock on the PlayStation 3 information. We think you'll be seeing it soon enough.

There's the possiblity of that being UE3 code common in all UE3 games.

I have Madden 2008 to play but I don't feel like throwing my controller into the ground right now. (best on 360)

not everybody spends every possible minute playing video games.
I just realised, had it managed the 9.5 rather than the 9.0, BioShock would be ranked the best game of all time on gamerankings.
Ouch. :P
Just goes to show how the little problems in any game can end up having a big difference, eh? I guess nothing's perfect.

There's always other reviews to pick the rating up (or drop it) so who knows what'll happen?
Let's just pray they don't count Sony Defence Force's review.
I think I am just going to rent it instead of buying it, does anyone think thats a good idea.leegar88Yes and no. Do you want to show your support for truly innovative games by renting them? I personally would go buy it, to show my support for these kinds of off collar games. However, if you're not that interested in the future of the industry, then go ahead and rent it. Its definitely beatable rented.

Great points, every game is unbearably beatable ini a rental time period. I chose to buy it for the depth of game play and pushing the 360 hardware to its limits. I rent games like Call of Juarez to try them and have a good weekend with.

Well actually, in my case, I have a decent PC that just needs a RAM boost to 1GB (preferably 2GB) so it can run Bioshock and should be prepared for the games I want on the PC.

The lemmings brag day after day on how great Bioshock is and how it's better than everything on PS3 when every week we more hints and clues to it possibly coming to PS3. This is the biggest: http://www.n4g.com/News-61148.aspx

everyday cows brag that they have gaming PC's that can run it, then when something small comes up they yell "PS3 version"!!! It wouldn't even matter if it went to PS3 cause it's already not an exclusive remember.

Absolutely no problem with that. The game is challanging enough trying not to die. Thats where the challenge is. On the cover of my Bioshock box it says "Xbox 360 and windows only" , so you should just stick with your Resistance with the 40 person multiplayer enhanced by the Blu-ray and cell compiled with 4D elements

When is Xbox 360 going to get a system-seller that isnt a multiplat FPS?:|FrexieIs that a serious question?
So the game is out now. Any word on that "hitch" that Jeff claimed? I havent experienced anything of that...yet.Solid-CELL
I'm playing it on the PC version and I've had the game completely freeze up a couple times :?
other than that I must say this game is AMAZING so far, and if it stays as great throughout the rest of the game it will be my pick for best game of the current-gen so far

I'm pretty sure you mean 2005 around the 360 launch window because I'm pretty sure the game coming out in 2006 is a TPS. ;)
In case no one gets it, I'm referring to Perfect Dark Zero.

Been playing all day on the 360 pretty much and had 0 problems.

He wants a game that isn't a FPS, thus I said Gears. Still though, his question is pointless.[QUOTE="Heil68"] hehehe:oops: Well, you're right;I dont. I came to that conclusion based on 2 things: 1) I played the 360 version for 2 hours today and noticed no long loading times. 2)You are the champion fighter for the PC cause[Dare I say Hermit?] I know its wrong to assume, yet i did with you and what I thought which platform you purchased Bioshock for. :)VandalvideoI already had it on pre-order for the 360, and I had planned on buying it till I found out they sold my LE copy to some guy five minutes earlier. Nearly went postal *Angry face*. I did end up buying the PC version, but only have they gave it to me for 5 dollars off. (That had to if they didn't want a postal dude.) The loading isn't even bad. Its a one time thing at the very beginning, and its a necessary evil because quite frankly, the PC version runs smoother, looks better, sounds better, and will eventually have mod support.Yeah it is noticeably better in terms of graphics and it preforms better, but the loading times are somewhat longer. I'll take a little longer loading times over decreased visuals and performance. Like I said before it looks better, but not go buy a new PC to play it if you have a 360 better. I have not tried the game out on my lower end rig, but I have heard that this game is very well optimised. The guys in the PC forums are satisfied with the performance.

Prettygood answer after re-thinking it. I thought it had to be an exclusive FPS.
Seriously no bull**** am I the only one who thinks this game is not so great? The begining is exactly like the demo except you dont get the fire power, so the whole begining was boreing for me, beat the demo twice. From then on it hasent really gotten ant better i just got the telakinesis. I not that far yet but I didnt feel like playing anymore right now. The gameplay just insint that fun yet.supermanfarr
of course the beginning is going to be the same and they put the fire in there so you can sample more than one plasmid in the demo.
[QUOTE="PelekotansDream"]But the visuals aren't without flaw--the game has an annoying seizure problem that almost looks like a correctable bug. On some consoles, the game hitches up and totally freezes for anywhere from one to five seconds at a time, then proceeds as if nothing happened.
I actually find that shocking, its the only part that really bothered me. See the great thing about consoles, well one of the great things is I shouldn't have to worry about system requirements but it would seem that not every 360 can play this game properly, yeah that sucks.
BioShockOwnz
It's quite weird that none of the other "big" reviews mentioned this problem. Also, none of the people who got their hands on it early have mentioned this problem.
I still think it's the 360 they were using, because no one else has had these issues.
I can officially report that this problem happens, i bought the game today and into the second level it seems that whenver i use my lightning plasma or something big happens it freezes up for about a second. kinda annoying, shame really cause the rest of the game is supurb.

really? i put about 4-5 hours into the game and i havent encountered any of the problems jeff mentioned in the review. i even turned on maximize framerate option.

If anything, you helped fix the problem. Maximizing framerates doesn't mean stressing the hardware more but actually less.
