[QUOTE="edo-tensei"][QUOTE="spookykid143"]The characters were better in ME2

GeneralShowzer

Yes at the cost of everything else.

They were better, because there wasn't really much happening outside of character quests. You had character quests in all Bioware games but they were never the main focus. It's as if they kept the reapers for ME3 and didn't have anything to fill out the second game.

ME2 is a direct sequel to ME1, part of the same story. ME2 simply continues the same story by expanding the universe, we learn more about characters than anything else. The main focus is still Shepard's story and his fight against the Reapers; and as we know, this story will end in it's conclusion Mass Effect 3.

ME 2 was important because it introduced Cerberus as a leading force in the overall narrative. Cerberus is going to be VERY important in ME 3 if Retribution is any indication.

Cerberus was already established. And it was introduced in two minutes, they didn't have to dedicate a whole game to it. In the end of things, the collectors were useless, and the whole Human reaper thing was dumb.

Nope, i have a feeling this won't be just a trilogy.

[QUOTE="HoolaHoopMan"]

[QUOTE="Ace6301"] So care to explain where these RPG elements are when you're shooting? Last I checked there were no stats for the use of guns in ME2.Ace6301

You can upgrade all weapons in ME2, and all of them pertain to "stats" when in combat. Damage, accuracy, critical. It's bare bones, but it's there.

You can upgrade guns in Uncharted 2 MP too. I guess Uncharted 2 is also an RPG! Seriously though I love Mass Effect, both of them, but 2 is not an RPG with TPS elements. It's a TPS with RPG elements. There IS a difference and I really don't get how people can't see that.

And what does that have to do with anything I said? You said there are no RPG elements to shooting, you can upgrade stats (RPG elements) for your weapons through out the game. UC2 has nothing to do with it.

Bioware confirmed Mass Effect would be a trilogy (which is just Shepard's story), but they said the Mass Effect universe would not be confined to a single trilogy.

I wouldn't mind a ME game, but without Sheppard or The Reapers. It's a pretty good universe, not entirely original, but very solid. But this whole "Ancient evil has risen, and only you can save the galaxy" is kind of overused, especially by Bioware. A new entry would mean getting rid of all the cliches, and starting a new.

Better yet, a full biotic like liara with as full female lead as the standard shepard.

True. The whole game was just about the loyalty missions, and whenever you encountered the collector everything would be rushed to get to the end. And yes i was also dissapointed the reapers didn't get to be a greater part of the overall story in this sequal.

yeah that is what i hated about the game. My shepard in Mass Effect 1 was a SAINT and the console still throws me out. Not like I cared, the citadel from ME1>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ME2's citadel. Then I spend 50% of the game gathering my crew, 48% doing loyalty missions for my crew, and then the last 2% was Epic action towards the overall story. Now some crew missions where fun (the "archangel" mission for example) but most of it just bored me. also, does anyone know how all the DLC will fit in if i buy it all and then start a new game? all i had during my main playthrough was Zeke because that was free.

Now that i think about it KOTOR 2 had the best character interaction I've seen in a game. Krea, Mandalore, You don't beat that. Also you can train your followers in the ways of the force, you can turn them into mindless killing machines, show them the way of the force, All the memories are flooding me.

kreia is definitely one of the greatest characters in history.

"If you seek to aid everyone that suffers in the galaxy, you will only weaken yourself… and weaken them. It is the internal struggles, when fought and won on their own, that yield the strongest rewards. You stole that struggle from them, cheapened it. If you care for others, then dispense with pity and sacrifice and recognize the value in letting them fight their own battles. And when they triumph, they will be even stronger for the victory."

i don't even understand how to describe her.

I remember when you give that bum five credits, and then she teaches you a life lesson. Or when you talk about Revan, and how he was her student. Yes i agree with that :D. Getting influence was very difficult though.

KOTOR II was boss. Even better than KOTOR, imo. If you have it on PC, pick up the Restored Contente Mod. Makes the game much better.

I think what he means is that Bioware(being widespread to more platforms)has probably a bigger fanbase than ND that only makes PS games.

That´s not reflecting on the poll very much though.

Well, I hate Crash Bandicoot and don't care about Jak & Daxter so Naughty Dog have only made 2 games that I've enjoyed. I love everything Bioware has made (besides Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood) though they do seem to be going downhill lately... But yeah, Bioware without a doubt.

Yes thats exactly what I meant , I figured you would have pretty much the entire pc and xbox fanbase vs the playstation fanbase but ND did better in the poll then I thought.

I voted for Bioware. But certainly not for this gen. After the immense disappointment that was Mass Effect 2 and all the unwanted changes they seem to be bringing to Dragon Age 2 (sequel to my second favorite game last year, and no the first isn't Uncharted 2), it looks like they won't even be RPG devs much longer. Uncharted 2 eclipses every game Bioware's made this gen by a fair margin in terms of variety, gameplay mechanics, replayability, and just plain fun factor (granted I've always found Bioware games more interesting than fun). But while Naughty Dog hasn't been super impressive in the past, Bioware has KotOR and Baldur's Gate to fall back on. It's a shame so many people are so hostile to others for not voting for Bioware. It's really telling when you immediately lash out at people and call them fanboys for not picking the 'clear winner' as many of you tend to put it. That kind of talk tends to mark you as a fanboy too, you know.

Lastly anyone who really thinks Mass Effect 2 -despite all its good writing- seriously explores the human condition may want to pick up a book. Oh and this is all in my opinion of course, because this is the internet and it needs to be said.

Jack and daxter *throws up*. Bioware. Very few companies can hold a candle to that line up.

I consider Nintendo (EAD) and BioWare above any other developer.

BioWare easily. People are still playing Baldur's Gate after 12 years of its release. I finished it again couple months ago. People won't remember UC2 after 10 years from now. Mass Effect and Dragon Age are miles ahead of anything Naughty Dog have done. ND isn't bad, they are good at what they do, but in this comparison BioWare slaughters them.

[QUOTE="ActicEdge"]

[QUOTE="Dead-Memories"] hmm this is odd. UC 2 came out in 09 ME 2 and Dragon Age came out in 2010.Dead-Memories

DA:O came out in 09. I remember it losing to demon souls specifically.

Demon's Souls is a superb game. totally justified.

demons soul was trash... borefest. no story whatsoever... boring AI. firestorm 1 hitko

project dark will be the same but people like fighting giant monsters...

might as well make a giant pixel cube so people will enjoy the epic fights.

Since i dun like WRPGs, Bioware has 3/10 from me, I played Jade Empire and liked it.

I played Crash trio, Jak2, U1,2 ..... and I loved them all, U being the least I liked, 9/10 from me.

They both suck in their own way.

BioWare is owned by EA witch has tendency to milk franchises.

Naughty Dog is owned by Sony and they only make games for Sony consoles.

I love there games, but they are both sellouts.

ND wins because they wanted me to see digital ta-ta's when i was a child by including a nude code in rings of power.

Demon's Souls was so good, it didn't need an actual narrative, if you were a good enough/intelligent player you could see what the game was trying to do with the setting, faith, atheism. the immersion was through the roof, the VA was top notch and the levels were cleverly designed. your hate is largely unjustified. firestorm is pretty OP, but it's fun to use no less.

Naughty Dag is great, but Bioware is amazing, just having the first KOTOR up there blew away Naughty Dog.
