The original flopped madly, the second received a solid 9.0, but that was not enough to kill Halo. It needed at least a 9.7 score.

I never thought it would "kill" the Halo series. I don't think that really detracts from people's enjoyment of the games, though. Isn't that the most important thing?

^^ oposite for me... Halo 3 was just another Halo, just with a weak story. Reach they actually did something different and it was a Halo game still so it was nice
