Not surprising considering XBL wont even let you use your netflix account unless you pay for XBLG.

Atleast on PS4 they clearly stated that all online games labeled as free do not require a PS+ account, and apps like netflix, hulu and etc will not be behind a paywall.

Microsoft has a product called the 360 for offline play so no need to worry.

I know you're trying hard to make having internet sound like a big deal but this is not 2000. Having internet has not been a luxury for quite a while. People pay for internet, xbox or not. Is the used games I have a problem with not this.

My issue with it is that it completely bricks the unit if there is any problem between my location and the servers that are authenticating.  If the electricity goes out than I am not doing anything except for reading a book or playing on the tablet (till it dies).  Yes there might never be an issue with this system for me, but if there is I am really up the creek.

That kind of goes along the lines of using the electricity for other things besides just for gaming.  Although with electricity you can make your own with a generator, not so much you can do if your ISP is unreachable or down (or the MS servers are down).  So my problem isn't having to pay for the internet but that if there is an issue with it there probably isn't jack you can do to fix it.
