Half-Life 2 back at launch. Once you bought the discs, put them in your computer, what did you have to do before you could play? Connect to Steam and authenticate.Â
Try it man. If you have the Half-Life 2 installation media, try and install the game and get it running without an internet connection and without any hacks that you'd need an internet connection in order to access.Â
I am not incorrect. I lived through this experience.Â
But you didn't have to connect every single day just to keep playing. Â A one time thing isn't so bad, but every day? Â Once a month wouldn't that either (but again I think disc authentication should be done in case the internet is down).
