capcoms updates are worth while so you cant really call it milking do they need to learn how to do DLC better yes but the updates to SF4 and UMVC3 were well worth the money.
SSF4 for example added 15 new characters. Lets see the average rate 1 character DLC in fighting games right now is $5 which isn't completely unreasonable. 15 x 5 = 75. They added $75 dollars worth of characters alone lets not forget new modes like the replay channel and new stages. So much new content they could have released a separate game. BB didn't even have 15 characters at first. Should it have been DLC yes but $40 for that is not milakage at all.
SSF4 AE added 4 new characters. 5 x 4 = $20 worth of new characters and its actually only $15 plus a re balancing of the whole game. Well worth the money and it actually was DLC this time as well as on disc.
UMVC3 add i think 12 new characters. 12 x 5 = $60 worth of characters alone and don't forget there's new stages missions modes, much improved online ect. Granted the online should have been better in the original. On top of that a complete re balance that actually makes some of the weaker character more viable. Should it have been DLC sure but its not a rip off if you do get UMVC3.
So ill admit they do need to make sure every game has the option to upgrade to the newest version(cause its gonna happen) via DLC. Second is maybe offer the DLC up in chunks as in character by character but I'm actually not a fan of that route because for one its more expensive. Take my SSF4 calculation as evidence and second if you don't buy all of the characters you will be at a disadvantage when you face people that do have said characters. You would have no way to train and figure out those characters for your self. You would also be force to download all of the DLC anyway so that you could face people who paid for DLC characters. It would suk to have all that space being taken up by something you couldnt use.
