COD4 > Halo 3?! WTF?!

I wouldnt say the site was "bias" by any means. I hate when people jump to that every time something doesnt go there way. However, i would say the awards this here are an absolute joke.

Nothing for bioshock. Nothing for halo 3. Easily in the top five shooters released this gen, never mind this year. Yet nothing. Absolutely rediculous. And giving COD4 360 GOTY over mass effect or halo 3 is just pathetic. I dont know what they're thinking. I honestly wonder if they actually play these games sometimes.

I think the awards are messed up, but not because of Halo. Plus I think COD4 was far better than anything Halo 3 offered.

I made a whole new PC from the ground up and it cost me $1400. I can run Crysis on as higher settings as it will allow; though there are even higher settings for when new graphics cards hit the market in a few years time.

You do not need a "3k PC" by any means. Dont be such a fanboy. If you simply upgrade an existing PC rather than buy a whole new one as i did, you could probably run Crysis maxed out (as much as possible right now...) for $500 tops.

Being a fanboy wont help your arguement.

Halo 3 didn't get Multiplayer for the year, it didn't get FPS of the year, it didn't get best sequal, it didn't get best graphics, it didn't get best story, it didn't get best gameplay.

yes, CoD4 is better than Halo3, especially in Single player.

sales don't mean anything. Brittney Spears sells a lot more cd's than Beethoven... in your opinion, brittney spears is better.

quality =/= sales, and the GOTY awards are decided by the whole editiol staff which is why the game with the best score isn't bound to win, and they cannot please everyone no matter how they do it

With that said I agree that Halo 3 is an overall better game than COD4, but they are both definite must buys

For myself, I am very upset that Halo 3 didn't win anything. Especially multiplayer, just because of how much H3 offers, Halo did get MGOTY from TeamXbox and IGN (Xbox 360 catagory)though.

imho i dont think halo 3 diserves squat to be honest. the SP was just such a letdown imho. short and does nothing much to improve on halo 1. thats really really bad imho. it was just getting from point A to pint B. there was practically nothign thrown in to make it more interesting. no twists...no surprises. just basic run and gun. it did have 1 great bit when fighting the big 4 legged walker for the first time...that was fun. but thats the only memerable bit i can think of from halo 3 SP. i can think of several from halo 1, which is still a superior SP game imho. clearly bungie just wanted to get that out of the way as fast as possible and focus on the MP. better than H2s SP mind....oo H2 was awful imho.

COD4 SP was also short but the game was just great fun to play. as a SP experience it was far superior to halo 3 across the board imho. as an example as to why its better than H3 SP....refer to the level in chernobyl. absolutely amazing. that level had everything and i can pick more great bits from that level than i can from the entire H3 SP to be honest.

as for the MP....i havent played them. not a big MP fan so i wont compare them.

Aw man, here come the hermits and their "god-like-cheap" PCs. That's such BS. I just made an XPS and Alienware and it cost me over 3k just to get decent stuff. Fanboy much?

You're building a whole new PC. An alienware Pc. They're ultra-expensive. Just because you dont know what you're doing doesnt make you right.

Take your existing PC to a proper dealer like Computer+. They will upgrade everything you already have to current specs for a fraction of the price of buying a new PC.

I dont know where u are getting 6 but selling doesnt mean anything. "highest scoring game" what about orange box? You dont need a 3k comp to run crysis. U are just jealous that you cant afford a $950 computer to run crysis at full high settings at average 30 fps. I spent $1400 on my comp and run crysis at 60 fps at med/high and 45 in multiplayer.

False. It's all down to your personal preference. Personally i dont like COD4's one-shot=one kill gameplay online. It's too easy to just pitch your tent and pop people as they go by until someone gets you on kill cam and comes back for you. And the matchmaking and ranking system is such an epic rip-off of halo 3, if EA made halo, you'd have a lawsuit on your hands guaranteed.

Halo 3 is the highest scoring FPS this year and sold SIX MILLION in one day. That's TWICE as many PS3s sold! How the hell does COD4 get 360 GOTY over Halo 3?! And some how COD4 get's shooter of the year too?! Halo 3 revisioned the FPS and Bungie spent countless 3 years working on this game. How can GS do this?!

For all we know, tomorrow, they might end up giving GOTY to COD4 or that PC FPS that needs a 3k PC just to run on mid. How wrong is that?!

Does anyone else feel that the GS GOTY awards aren't right this year?

By everyone? no, it was a great all-round package. It deserved 9.0+ easily.

But it specializes at nothing, the shooting aspect is still very basic ( and flawed due to movement speed, no sprint, moonjumping ) exct that Grenades & Melee make up a MAJORITY portion of kills on most peopels profiles ... shooter?

The SP was underwhelming, had jaggie issues, had slowdowns when killing thos big ships.

MP maps were the worst of the series, most people Veto every chance they get from my experiance, and then some maps are so croach abusable.

It was just ... *Bleh* compared to its hype.

Crysis isn't over rated?! You need a 3k PC just to run that game on mid-settings! You need 2k for a monitor! 5k just to run the game decently! kaos-hero

Again, sales and popularity have absolutely nothing to do with quality. Halo3 is a good all around game (not even close to as good as it's made out to be though) but this year there was something better in every individual area.
