Consoles are superior to the PC on a technical level

Show me a X1900XTX (360 GPU) or a 7800 GTX (PS3 GPU) capable of running these visuals at acceptable frame rates

No way does a PC 7800 GTX run BF3 and look like this with anything above 15 FPS, LOL.

Feel free to support this thread and post more good looking console games.

These are games that had to be EXPERTLY and very technically coded (moreso than your average PC game) to run on such old hardware and yet the do.

Superior their equivalents for a fraction of the cost.

780 GTX was $599 at launch and the X1900XTX was $650 at launch and they struggle to run any of todays games even at 30 fps, yet the consoles can do it.

The "Xenos" was closer to the 1800XT or even more like the 1950pro(lower performance in some areas, but better shader performance than the 1800xt), not the 1900XT, that woulda crushed it.

And the "RSX" is a 'cut down' 7800GT, not even a GTX.

And of course a 7800GTX may have some trouble(espeically the 256mb), it has far fewer shader pipelines than the 360, and desktop cpu's don't function like the Cell. Apples to Radiator comparison.

everyone is wrong(about Xenos). Xenos is tjhe precursor to the R600 GPU's. Much of Xenos's design was later used in the HD 2xxx series. HOWEVER!!!! Xenos's speed is still very slow despite having a future proof feature set. It just goes to show what matters the most is not the speed, but the feature set of the chip. It may not neccesarily be able to use those effects all the time, but it allows room for compatibility and such.

These top of the line cards exist to run games that don't exist yet, why?

Consoles control the game market now in all aspects, from graphics to gameplay.

There are plenty of console owning PC games, and the upcoming PlanetSide 2 looks like it will own as well. Even skyrim with high res textures destroys most console games

Yep. It's always that PC gamers are graphics whores, and gameplay>graphics. Until PC gamers talk about games like Binding of Isaac, To the moon, or minecraft with great gameplay, and then it becomes "those graphics suck" or "why play on PC if you're only gonna play games with crappy graphics"

Yeah,the stereotype about PC gamers being obsessed with graphics is laughable.If you were here during E3,then you must remember the crapload of "TLoU vs Halo4" graphics threads,with cows claiming ownage over "outdated 360"...

There are plenty of games that take good advantage of current high end cards,one of them being the upcoming Arma 3 wich not only looks amazing but has a scale no console game even gets close to,not to mention Fortnite,EPIC´s first UE4 game wich is PC only. Also,Rome 2 is already looking absolutely incredible and it´s CA highest budget game ever,way beyond any console capabilities.

Also,Watch Dogs and Star Wars 1313 are all running on high end PC hardware and those will be miles ahead of their console counterparts.

And these are just a few among many examples.
