Okay? I thought we were discussing "milking", and that's how the Sony vs. MS thing came out. Yes, there is a 3rd party HDMI converter.
We don't even need to compare to see who milks who more.50 dollars a year for P2P online, anyone? ;)
You clearly don't have XBL. Speaking as someone who has both, I'd rather pay $50 a year than rely on Sony's service. Don't get me wrong; it's great that it's free, but PSN in its current form can't compete with XBL. We'll see what happens when Home comes out.
I have XBL :|. It's not that great...

Really? The fact that most games have online support of some sort (even if it's not multiplayer), the fact that developers continue to add-on to their games (look at all the map packs for Gears, Halo, the added quests for Oblivion, etc.), the fact that you can now download hundreds of tv shows and movies, and the fact that when you do so, the download rate is fairly high, this isn't enough to label it great? Hell, I can barely download system updates at night on the PSN; I have to wait until the morning, because the servers are either ridiculously slow, or from time to time just drop me. If paying $50/year gives me quicker downloads, and the possibility of getting DLC, I'm fine with it; just as some people in this thread don't mind paying $55 for a controller, I don't mind $50 for XBL.
Like I said, free is good, but XBL is definitely better than PSN, so if PSN is free, it makes sense that XBL is $50 a year.
But this is all off topic. All I know is, I'm glad I've been holding off getting another controller for the PS3 in anticipation of the DS3, because otherwise I'd be fairly pissed.
While its a kick in the pants,
It stings less because I have not really had a need for a second controller for my PS3 anyway, and when something comes out that will warrent the purchase of one I can get a Dualshock.
When I have my 360 friends over to play COD4, I let them play for a while before reminding them what's missing. They don't even realize it until I say something.
Know what is "missing?" Rumble.
I'll buy one for starters (yes, I already have 4 Sixaxis controls. Did you know the PS3 supports more than 4 players simultaneously?). If it's as much of an improvement as people have been saying, I'll buy others to replace my original controls when they break down.
No milkage here - I don't understand what you mean? I wasn't "lied to as a consumer" because I don't buy into hype. I play games for fun, not bragging rights.

You must have a bad connection or something...My system updates take max 10 mins.
[QUOTE="cosmostein77"]Can anyone confirm if Sony is going to have easily changable batteries in the new Dualshock? GARRYTHwhy would you want to regular batteries weigh more than the battery used in the ps 3 controler. plus it last 10 years or so.
stupid PS3 charge cable is like like 3 feet long. doesn't even reach my couch :P at least the 360 ones do. always had to bring the ps3 half way across the room just so the damned thing would reach when the charge was low, or sit on the ottoman in front of the tv.
i'd rather have batteries than a short leash tyvm. my hands can handle the weight of batteries - if anything the ps3 sixaxis feels too light. i like me a solid weighty controller that's not too bulky, and doesn't have symmetrical analog sticks.
Nothing new to cows, its been happening for years
Ps2 multi-tab to have more then one person play with you
Memory cards
Additional Network adapter
Hard drive
Now this :)
I think it says in the bible, Thow cow shall be milked by sony.

i thought they'd have the decency to announce some sort of exchange program for sixaxis seeing rumble is sooo last gen. but apparently 'last gen' costs more.
54.99USD each.
Udsen
Whao, $5 more. Ouch!
What a freakin joke. Its has six-axis. I like it. Now I get rumble too. I don't really plan on that being free, you know? Just like HDMI, right lemmings?
Oh, you do get that don't you. That while you make fun of Sony saying rumble was last gen, rumble is being released for PS3. And while I call MS jokesters for saying HDMI wasn't needed, you can sit and cry because there is no HDMI add-on.
Peace.
Okay, first off, take a deep breath. There's no HDMI add-on simply because there's no point to it; you'd still be converting an analog signal to digital, so as far as I know the picture still wouldn't be as good as native digital would have it. Secondly, who says the HDMI thing wasn't stupid of MS? I know it didn't make me happy; my TV only accepts 1080p signals through HDMI.
Yeah, that sucked, but that's not what this topic is about; this topic is about the new Dualshock. You can afford $5 extra bucks? Good for you; just because you can do it doesn't mean you should have to. My point is that unlike with the wiimote, there isn't too much use for the sixaxis right now, so I'd rather lose it altogether in place of paying more than the already ridiculous current-gen standard of $49.99 per controller. Free? Who said anything about being free? I don't think it's too much to ask that controllers stop getting more and more expensive...Just because you don't mind paying for it doesn't mean you should have to.
Come again?
I meant no official one. I knew that was out; I've seen it at my local Best Buy for like $89.99, and some random Hong Kong website had been working on one even before Mad Catz. Within a week of Best Buy selling it though, someone had already returned it, and while I don't necessarily write off customer stupidity, I suspect this also may mean that it's not effective as the customer had hoped. My point was that MS didn't release one because there was no point to it. Mad Catz releases lots of crap, so it's too late to expect better from them. :P
So my point still stands. There is an HDMI add-on.
i thought that you needed hmdi for 1080p resolution. why would i need that on my 32' 720p?

Lemmings and sheep don't even try to talk to us about milkage without taking a look at the industrial strength vacums sucking at your teats.
Wii controllers are $60 plus batteries and 360's are $50 plus batteries and/or $20 recharge packs. $55 for rumble, motion, and built in recharge battery is not bad at all.

Because you can get DVD upscaling with HDMI. You can get uncompressed audio with HDMI. HDMI is straight digital, best quality available on any console.
That's why.

exactly, and how is this "milkage"(it's 5 bucks more) worse than what microsoft did with hd-dvd customers?
will M$ offer a certificate program to trade in hd-dvd add-ons for blu-ray addons?
not to mention M$'s accessories in general are extremely overpriced.

$55? This is getting out of hand. $49.99 was already really expensive for a controller, and now Sony has the nerve to jack up the price by $5 just because they're putting in "last gen" tech? I wished they'd just do me a favor and remove the sixaxis, put in the rumble, and charge $49.99. I really hope this info turns out to be incorrect...

i dont have surround sound so therefore no use for uncompressed audio. plus look up some cnet articles about how little the difference between compressed and uncompressed audio is

While i agree the price is somewhat ridiculous, your post proved you know nothing.
-Mulitap to play with more than 1 person? um no, there was two ports dude, typical for a a multiplayer (not like Super smash bros is on the damn system)
-Memory cards? PS3 doesnt even support memory cards, everything is HDD. I can tell you what other systems does, and one doubling the price just to have "Wii" written on top of it.
-The new PS2s dont have addictional adapters, its internal. And those were the majority of the sales. But if you want to talk about the $30 modem you get... um it was only $30. And it was released 2 years after the PS2 was, there was no time o bundle. But hey, i can name a company (again) that charges a crapload for a wireless adapter, something that comes free in the Wii, PS3, and even the cheap DS and PSP. wow.
-Hard drive. Probably your only good point, but they more than made up for it with the PS3 support.
Good luck.

Its not really milkage, Sony has done this before. I remember when the controllers didn't even have analog sticks. They didn't let us replace them then. I do agree it should have been there in the first place, but owell things happen.
The average gamer also buys 2 controllers for thier systems so meh
And bingo Lazy_Boy88
