I'm incredibly doubtful it will require a 1 GB video card. 256 MB will be the requirement no doubt if it can be played on Windows XP, but if it requires Vista or Win7, I wouldn't be surprised to see 512 MB required.PC_Otter

Why not? They are dropping the DX9 support it seems. 1 GB video cards are not rare, in fact, for DX10/11 cards they are pretty much standard. If you're getting a 512mb GPU today, you're really dumb.

I'm saying this as a guy who regularly watches 1080p videos on the net not from youtube. All those vids are HDD killers unless you have a TB HDD.

This looks pretty alright at 1440p. 1.7MB/s.

I downloaded the 1080p version of the video. Absolutely gorgeous.....

Now, I know what to spec my 2013 PC for.

Perhaps Crytek spends a lot of time watching movies. Crysis 1: jungle, Predator 1: jungle. Crysis 2: city, Predator 2: city. Now, it's Crysis 3: jungle city, Life After People: jungle cities.

Well if he is gaming at 1440 or 1200p he is going to need cards that can push that resolution and graphics while maintaining acceptable framerates. As he said, it's more of a performance problem.

My PC will probably struggle to run it at a steady framerate without a huge drop in detail, but darnit if I'm not going to try!

Good thing if it looks good, but what I want to know is if they're leaning towards a more sand-boxy game, à la Crysis 1, or a corridor one. If corridor, count me out.

Ha ha me too. The gameplay was not impressive. Definitely not worth $60. I played full price and even pre-ordered Crysis 1 and paid full price for Crysis Warhead and it was worth every penny.
