Crysis has over stayed its welcome....

So it's been about 3 years since Crysis pretty much caused fissures inside the gaming world with it's cutting edge technology, but has it finally over stayed its welcome? Has the time finally come for it to step of it's throne, and let someone else sit upon this prestigious alter which us mere mortals here in SW seem to worship so much? WILL it ever be dethroned in our lifetime? Only time will tell. For now, he's a fitting tribute I made for the legend that is Crysis! Many hate it for being the never ending ammo for pure ownage in graphic debates, while some praise it because they're actually old enough to work, and purchase a decent enough computer to run it at decent settings. :P

People come up with whatever rational they can think of to take Crysis out of the picture.

PC gamers get accused of being elitist and arrogant; but what better fitting words are there for a group of people who actually think consoles should surpass technological progress. They want Crysis gone so they can try to claim the title with a console game on their platform of choice, never mind even cross platform games like Crysis 2 promise to push the PC platform.

Whatever happened to graphics not being everything? Or trying to shatter the sterotype that PC gamers are elitist?

There's other great PC games out there, shouldnt have to fall back on Crysis every single time.

It's kinda like Halo. There's more cows that bring Halo into the discussion than there are lemmings, so Halo will continually be talked about for years to come especially with Reach coming soon.

yea exactly. AND NO IT GET PLAYED ALOT MORE THAN ITS TALKED ABOUT. Heck i'm probably at my mates now playing it right now HAVING FUN in it other than complaining about games.

Yep, usually every one I see is started by someone comparing a worse looking consoel game to Crysis and claiming superiority.

On topic, in all fairness, there are plenty of great looking games on the PC, such as, Stalker series, ARMA II, Shattered Horizon, Metro 2033 etc.

Guys, what game has been the center of discussion more then Crysis? It's certainly over stayed it's welcome here, and I think this thread should be used to finally give it the fair well it certainly deserves.

Tribute is nice but the telling the king it's overstayed it's welcome was a grave mistake.

crysis for me was a huge let down . i pretty much ran to the store to get this game when i got my new video card and i hated it . the wow died pretty fast and the awful story and the bugs set in .

When a game gets talked about as much as Crysis you know it's gotta be good. I think SW talks about Crysis more than Mario or Zelda. It's incredible!

Poor little Crysis, it gets a lot of hate these days. It is overtalked, but the game is not to be blamed (people are). But as aPC owner and as of now X360 owner, I can say that no game makes the owner so proud of its technical prowess than Crysis, the game is just whole levels ahead of pretty much anything out there even after almost 3 years. I like to think that is the last great (not in qualitative way)PC game, the last big benchmark, the last reason to upgrade a PC; the fact that is going multiplat just proves that gaming as weknow is over.

It's not my favorite game nor is it my graphics king. But, yup. I do like Crysis/Warhead. I see no tunnel scenes from Warhead yet. So, here:

Crysis can't seem to load or save on my computer for some reason. So to me, it stinks.

Is not about graphics like some fanboys claim, is about the game itself.

Crysis 2 might dethrone it, but it's sad that there aren't games that look better than Crysis, and no, PS3 exclusives don't count.
