Obviously we don't know the axact number, but I know people were upset when it was announced that the game was native 720p and had a 30fps cap. Him releasing that mod probably drove more people to buy the game (as well as pirate it too)

I guess, but I also suspect he also wanted to create the mod (i.e. fix the game) for himself too, then was driven by the community to better it even more. I'm thankful, high resolution and SSAO did a lot (I kept it at 30fps though).

People can donate if they like it. With 200k downloads, even if 1% donate $1 he made $2000. I'm sure more poeple donated and higher amounts.

advertising on your sig is one thing, spamming threads with your videos is another :P and i'm pretty sure you WANT that watermark there, because that would allow you to show it while giving credit to IGN, thus avoiding any odd copyright issues. this guy doesn't have trouble posting the video. it's just that the video you posted seemed kinda pointless without any sort of analysis or opinion, especially for all the introductory rambling :PBrunoBRS

Damn this gif may be small but the scene is so beautiful to look at. The lighting is great looking. The whole image just blends really well together

You're right, I noticed that during the video. It was pretty fascinating to look at, but in gif form, it really gives you ample time to admire it. It's like an impending doom marching towards you. Also, for some reason, the little painting on the wall(left)falling down during his rage adds to the gif for me. Maybe that seems a bit strange? Heh, I love it.

Yeah but those moments are the scripted stuff they showed in the end. Unless I missed it the "normal" enemies looked like they were dealing less damage.

Well it's alpha footage so they are bound to use placeholder material. If it's in the final game then I can see how it might bug someone.

he might have been super boosted for the presentation and that one shot wasn't part of those scripted thing like at the end.

From the health and stamina bars it looked like a high lv character that may have been going up against early game enemies. I wouldn't read too much into the footage in terms of difficulty in any case, this is very early code and the difficulty level will be set near the end of the development process through play testing etc.

I wanted to get the video out and done before I went to bed later, plus I only had so many shots and footage I could use. 

If you can find me an unwatermarked 12 minute gameplay video 'd be more than happy to go through that bit by bit. I plan on doing more soon anyway

If they need to copy and paste mods to make a decent PC version I dont really mind lol as long as it's not the same crappy port DS1 originally was *shudders*

Nothing. It just seems a little too familiar. It's probably just me.

But yeah, there's still a ways off till release so a lot could be done.

For a game that was being criticised before being shown properly as sounding "too different" being too similar is a damn good thing I think. Change would upset too many people

The environments are already looking much more interesting than the first Dark Souls. That's good news for me. I wasn't a big fan of the areas in the first spin off. The death animation variety is a welcome addition as well. I wonder if the cinematic looking parts(such as the bridge/chariot section) are going to become a new thing though. I'm not really a fan of those moments in any game. Removes the sense of personal control.

Overall, it's looking like a quality upgrade. Can't wait to see more.

Yeah I have a bunch of texture replacers to make some armor or weapons looks different. I had one that reskinned the Claymore as the Master Sword from Zelda which was pretty cool. There is also one that restores Artorias' armor so that it isn't all beat up,

Looks like more Dark Souls which is a good thing.

Got to say that I laughed when the guy was running from the armadillo enemy, and got gangbanged by two of them a moment later.

Also the part where he taunted, then the monsters hit him off the cliff. :lol:

Damn this gif may be small but the scene is so beautiful to look at. The lighting is great looking. The whole image just blends really well together

Yeah I have a bunch of texture replacers to make some armor or weapons looks different. I had one that reskinned the Claymore as the Master Sword from Zelda which was pretty cool. There is also one that restores Artorias' armor so that it isn't all beat up,

Hot damn, that looks great. Last time I played it the game only had foliage replacers and a few shields. But I may have to go back again and see some better things like this.

Thing is GFWL I can't remember my login details for it so I have to restart and play offline :?

i really like the ability to use the bow for more than just sniping. honestly, it seems like they're giving more and more options to direct combat. here's hope magic gets its chance too (with proper balance, of course).

Yeah at first I thought it was bad for moving bow combat but that was only cos how much damage he was doing, then I realised he's just OP for the video. At least now you can be constantly in combat and not waiting. Sort of baiting the enemy and nibble away at his health. 

Reminds me of GOW III's bow, you would use it from distance to whittle down health before taking out a blade again and doing real damage

A lot of people HATE the new walking animation though for some reason. They said he looks too fast or constipated lol. I actually liked it, he looked like he had a purpose and drive to go do sh!t and wasn't walking around all scared

You're right, I noticed that during the video. It was pretty fascinating to look at, but in gif form, it really gives you ample time to admire it. It's like an impending doom marching towards you. Also, for some reason, the little painting on the wall(left)falling down during his rage adds to the gif for me. Maybe that seems a bit strange? Heh, I love it.

Only thing about that scene though is there was a LOT of pop in and out. Look at the right of the gif, sh!t disappears

Eck, I missed that. I guess I was enthralled by the giant and his destruction on the left :P

Yeah, that's pretty ugly though. Hopefully they keep an eye out for that kind of thing, and improve it before release. Although..is there much they can do about it? Isn't it something to do with the engine and/or scale?

Meh.  ive had Dark Souls on PS3 for like a year, and I have yet to play more than an hour of it.  I cant even bring myself to put the disk in lol.  Cant even remember the last time I tried to force myself to play it (probably a year ago tbh).

I guess I just never "got" the game.  Same with Demons Souls, I bought that game used, a few years ago, and returned it the next day.

It's a presentation designed to show off the game. The character was beefed up to take more damage and enemies were made easier it would seem. I mean the bow took half the big dudes health in 3 shots and his ammo meter never went down.
