[QUOTE="thepoop7"]We are criticizing Halo because its "casual" now? Amazing. Birdy09Where have you been since Halo CE release? many Shooter enthusiasts consider it a casual/dumbed down shooter.
as far as being fun and easy to play....yes. as far as being good at it? not even close. the skill gap in halo is absolutely nuts. I've been playing it for 7 years now, the past 4 years on PC. I can totally wreck the average player, yet there are people who can make me seem like it's my first day.
on halo PC there are still leagues and tourney's and people take it VERY seriously. that happening so many years after release goes against anything considered casual.

I don't see ow people say Halo is super casual where the only games that take more skill than it are quake, Unreal tournement, and Counterstrike. Take a look this video and say that it is super casual garbage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KajLGG4QYTQ&feature=related
Rock Music + Montage can make anything look hardcore and skillful. Compared to most basic mechanics like sprint which make evading death alot easier, and scoring sniper kills much more difficult, why do you think console-scoping-shooting in a game with moon gravity speed is impressive? =/ .... I just dont see it. big hotboxes, slow moving characters, moon jumping... You obviously like it alot, for reasons I cant grasp because the PC version is an absymal experiance, no recoil on anything, getting those kills with a sniper rifle is litterally point and click (depending on connection ofc), you can kill them from that distance with pistol clicking. Whatever floats your boat, but for years it never has more than 1000 players, which is nice considering its age, but at the sametime that gameplay is sleep worthy, no offence, as was your gameplay vid. The mechanics are just so simple its not funny. Is your XBL gamertag "birdy0909"?

And I can tell you from 1st hand experience these guys are really really good, MLG is no slounch interms of competition, I manged to get 4 kills off of one of these guys before butthats when i played Halo non stop and played othing else. i used to be really into it but i gave up becasue they are super no life s at that game, hence why competitive gaming for cash is stupid imho.
Well if you put it this way , i think you are right but the more proper will be cod killed pc fps.dakan45
Correction: Halo killed it, CoD buried it.
Halo did nothing to pc gaming but Modern Warfare, on the other hand, has left a dent.

Yes, because the PC never had any exclusive FPS games after Halo like Stalker(all 3 of them), Cryostasis, Crysis, Killing Floor, Pain Killer, Necrovision, soon to be Doom 4...
And let's not forget the FPS games that came out on PC first but were ported over to consoles, like Half Life 2, Call of Duty, F.E.A.R., Doom 3, etc.

Go play Modern Warfare 2 on a Friday night on the PC. You have about 70k - 80k dudes to play with. Now go play it on the Xbox 360, and that number is raised to at least 600k - 700k.
Also, you can call me when any Halo game on the PC attracts 1 million unique players daily, 2 years after its original release.

You must not have gotten the news flash. MW2 sucks, and many people(especially PC gamers) thought it was trash. So what's your point again?
And why would a Halo game attract people on the PC? We have so many better games, the PC gaming population is split more so between games just because we have so many choices.

Xbox 360 gamers buy more games than any of the other console boys. Yet we don't see Killzone 2 or SSBB do such numbers.
And about the CoD thing, it's because more people prefer gaming on consoles. And yes, the PC version of MW2 is trash and broken (Infinity Ward doesn't give a crap about PC gaming, because it's dying), but that's not the only reason. CoD4 was great on the PC, yet much more popular on the Xbox 360.
You need to get your act together and accept the fact that people generally prefer to play FPS games on consoles, not on the PC. The only thing that the PC has got, is Counter-Strike, nothing more. Pretty much everything else within the FPS genre belongs to consoles; and the console boys have no one but Halo to thank for it.
Also, want to bet that the console versions of Black Ops will humiliate the PC version in terms of sales?

1) MW2 plays better on PC, like every other multiplat shooter, it just lacked the PC-centric features that we love.
2) CoD4 and Bad company 2 are played way more on PC, CoD4 being more popular on PC shows that PC gamers know quality, not sequal humping hype trash.
3) What benefit do console fanboys get from 700,000 on Cod MW2? ... more support? no. faster/more game types no. more DLC support? £15 for to rehashs and 2 crap maps says no
So I ask you, what benefit is it to me as a consumer that closed off trashy platforms have more people playing a specific shooter? what do I see? I certinaly dont see £££

I personally don't think so, and that number doesn't even take into account kills that resulted from a combined weapon and melee attack, or those that were assassinations from behind. The proportion of melee kills that involve charging in blindly and scoring two hits in succession without any shooting are probably extremely low. The melee system works as a great compliment to traditional gunplay, and, along with grenades, creates a sty1e of play that is unique to Halo.

Um I'm a PC gamer, and I own a 360. Of course PC is the best, it's not even debatlble but consoles can hold up a fair bit you know.
I see that you gave MW2 1.0/10 which is absolutly ridiculous considering the campaign and spec-ops alone would earn it a an 8. Seriously there are way worse games yet because of what you've heard on COD's laggy, cheap Mp you decide to give it one which means you are thinking irationally
They mean competitive multiplayer skill. And it does, they should try MLG. Any skilled player in Halo is the typical guy who uses BR and Sniper, and you'll notice who's the casual player which would be the guy just spraying n' praying his assault rifle and then beating down someone. Take this, for ex: You have a shotgun, and you see someone and you run to him but he sees you as well. If the other player is skilled he'd run away from you while shooting you at the same time, but if he's just a casual he'll probably stay there and shoot at you or walk TOWARDS you without knowing what a shotgun's main purpose is and die.halo takes no skill? play it on legendary(alone) and come back to me

Not one to agree with the other load of crap homeboy has posted but the lack of ammo versus how much it takes to kill the covenant seems about right. Part of the annoyance with Halo on higher difficulties is the amount of backtracking you have to do just for ammo. It kind of kills the excitement of it all.well ea killed it ,,
