Another game that could have done well with the WiiU pad to not come to the WiiU.

You know, you're actually right.... And the WiiU could probably handle -most- of the graphical effects, as it's not a very demanding PC game. I played it on my laptop maxed, full AA at 1080p quite comfortably.

The pad would be a god send for the lackluster (but now hopefully better?) inventory/equip system, which just gets to be a big mess during the end game. Plus using a stylus to drop the teleporter pyramids would be WAY easier than with a controller, and in DOS you use those a lot.

Considering it took 2 months to sell 500k on PC, this dev will love the console sales I bet. Which will probably sell that amount faster on the PS4 alone.

It sold more than 830,000 copies on steam alone and almost half that on gog. So more than a million copies. Thanks for lying I guess ?

And if really think its gonna even crack a quarter of a million on consoles you are delusional. This simply isn't the kind of game console kiddies have the patience to play.

Proof?

Use steamspy and google . Are you that freaking dense ?

Hey thanks for the link. Very useful. Their data seems pretty accurate. Their data is exactly the same as the official announcements from Cities: Skylines, DayZ and H1Z1 devs. Damn, 5 out of 7 million sales of Witcher franchise are from Steam alone. Then there is GOG version too. Really impressive.

It's as credable a VG charts, because they gather data from "a limited number of users" then estimate. I'm not desputing the numbers though, that probably is about right.

VG chartz doesn't include digital sales. This one does and so far their data matches what devs have officially announced. Of course that doesn't mean they are 100% accurate but it gives you pretty good idea of overall sales. It's a good site. I liked it.

Hell yeah, free upgrade for PC. Now that's how you do it! Larian is a great little dev company, I'm glad I backed this game.

I'd be very surprised if this (or Wasteland 2) sell well on consoles. The marketing tend to be big budget Micheal Bay style games - all visuals.

It's a piece of software that monitors the number of users that currently own the game. It is entirely accurate for every game that isn't on free week.

Wrong, there site explicitly says otherwise. It's software though.

dunno much about PS3 but as far as I can remember Xbox Version had no tactical view which caused some serious problems.

At least it wasn't designed for control pad at the start like the massively misleading and disappointing Wasteland 2. i.e. simplstic Xcom combat... over and over and over and over Zzzzz.

wasteland 2 was great, loved it... and it has great decision and story moments. The conversations and actually required your skills. The dialog in divinity reminded me of morrowind(and while i liked that game the dialog was horrible). Talking to a random guy showed walls of encyclopedia text for subjects that are repeated with the same response for most npcs. It was a chore even getting through the first town because of.

Sure the combat in wasteland 2 could be improved on with more choices but they did an admiral job for a first effort in how many years. There was still a lot of options for setting ambushes, using the terrain as cover in various forms as terrain gave you a different percent depending on what you were hiding behind. Also environmental things could effect the combat. It was great fun.

Divinity from the first bit I played of it seemed to have the cheesy "use element x" when you see enemy y and item y on the map. It was repetitive that way, at least in the first dungeon you go in. I didn't play much past the first town as it was a bit boring at that town. I may go back to it after this update. Hopefully the game after the first town is better and the combat isn't so cliche.

believe it or not that is a big factor for me. I work all day behind a pc monitor as I build and program websites and crms. After i get home, I don't want to spend all night behind a computer. I still play computer games, in fact I love them, but do it mostly on the weekends and never play console ports on pc.

This is one of many reasons pc and console can co-exist (to the dismay of extremist hermits and consolites ).

It's not that bad, in facet it's easier to play a turn based or crpg on console than it is to play a fighter or driving game on keyboard and mouse. Control schemes have gotten good. I played tropico 5 on dual shock 4 and loved it's interface for console.

As long as it's not dumbed down for console I am fine with it. And may buy this game again just to show support. I love turn based crpgs and strategy games and want them on both pc and consoles (or handhelds).

I remember back in 1998 seeing Baldurs Gate PS1 gameplay in a gaming magazine. It never came out on PS1 but there is working versions on youtube showing the game. I would of bought that on ps1 and would of been happy, as my pc at the time was a bit old and I didn't have the money to upgrade.... It never came and I wound up upgrading my pc to play it, but if it's all you have its better than no option. (also played Civilization 2 and diablo 1 on PS1 , before upgrading my 486 to a pentium 2 with voodoo card) ..

Sweet jesus, yes. I played through most of the game on PC, but never finished it. It was still my second favorite game from last year.

Don't have my nice PC anymore, so I'll be playing this on X1.

Most of Nathan Drake fanboys will run away because of lack of hand holding and "convoluted" features but there are some Console gamers on these forums as well that showed interest in complex games like this one. For those, this will be a rewarding experience and they'll realize the difference between proper RPG and Action game with RPG elements.

Good news for Console gamers since it's a great game but it also means that their upcoming games will be dumbed down.

EDIT:

Lists of major improvements

  • All characters are now fully voiced by AAA-voice actors
  • New quests, new characters, and new content
  • Entirely new gameplay modes and character builds
  • A heavily rewritten story with a brand new ending
  • Massively reworked visuals and sound effects
  • And much more to be announced in the coming months

As a pc gamer I have no problem losing "exclusives" just as long as the quality of the game isn't hurt by it.. It's incredibly creepy that people take this shit personally when they lose a exclusive or other such shit.

Yeah maybe that’s not bad , for most part it’s a matter of convenience since most of Isometric CPRG games like Divinity: OS have more than one character which makes it harder to play them with a controller especially when it comes to looting or picking up drops.

Good, that means the game counts now.

Awesome..all the upgrades are free on PC. I heard Wasteland2 is getting the same treatment. Massive upgrades for free.

Also, jesus this game on controller will suck.

Those people are just trolling. This game should be played by everyone. PC has more than enough exclusives to the point that if it lost half of them tomorrow it would still be ahead of consoles.

And to the beta testing comments: The patch is free on PC. It's rare that a game is ever worse on PC, no matter when it's ported.

1. It will most assuredly be better on KB/M, like any other trpg, crpg, or arpg. Have you even played Divinity? I can't imagine otherwise.

2. Diablo 3 works considerably better with KB/M. 1-2 console fanboy reviewers who said otherwise didn't get to higher Greater Rifts, which require an extreme degree of control. These are a DISASTER on consoles. This is one of the reasons D3 Console has no seasons or ladders, apart from the duping/hacking due to client side. This is also why mob density is lower.

Given how Brain Fargo lied with Wasteland 2, expect this to be console built.

This is so good to hear. Loved my time with Divinity Original Sin. Awesome coop, the best turnbased combat in ages and it looks nice. It does suffer slightly from average writing, but everything else is so well done its not a huge deal.

Seriously... I game on both pc and console but I do spend a tad more on PC, I love seeing these hardcore games coming to cosnole finally. Wasteland 2 and Divinity Original Sin are crpgs that you don't see on consoles, this is good for the devs and the fans. Same with Elite Dangerous, this was a game you wouldn't think would come to console, great to see though!

Can we get a remastered version of Divine Divinity please Larian? :)

Hilarious. The arrogance from PC gamers on this thread talking about console gamers as though they're all stupid and a fucking CRPG is too complex for them. Let's forget the fact many of us are PC gamers who also happen to own consoles and let's ignore that many console gamers have been into complex RPG's since the days of the SNES.

If it makes you feel better to bleat on about how superior you are to console gamers because you play with a mouse instead of a keyboard be my guest but you might want to do a double take on exactly who is coming across as the biggest idiots here.

I sense staggering butthurt just because what was previously a PC exclusive will now also be on console, Boo fucking hoo.

You do know that only 5.7% of the owners on PC of Divinity Original Sin have beat it right? So you saying 10% of console owners will beat it is actually better than us PC gamers could do. I beat it myself but its not an easy game by any means (when I beat it only 3.1% had beat it).

Cows scream about Indies every day here but this game will probably sell 3 copies on PS4... They'd only care about it if it was "free" on PS+. Then they'd brag about PS+ being the best thing since the sliced bread.

Dude seriously you need to grow up and stop sounding so butt hurt. Aren't you a part of the game industry?

And only 1/1000 of them will actually complete all the puzzles without guides.

Neat.

I guess i'll have to get it on the PC now. I've been chipping away at my ever expanding backlog so I've been holding off.

The only thing this shows is that great games eventually make their way to every platform they can. People have a demand to play great games. Give any great game enough time and it'll be ported, updated, and/or re-released. Most games do work fine on the console, it just comes down to if it's worth it to take the time to properly port it.

Being exclusive doesn't mean shit in the long run. People miss out on great old console and PC games because they were never ported or re-released in any fashion on any other platforms. That's a waste. A good game can be good forever if it's managed well. Games don't have to be lost to history.

A solid PC game getting a update on the PC to make it better and ported only expands the audience and will increase demand to keep the game playable in the future. That's never a bad thing.

5.7% / 10

....

Only 0.57% of console gamers will beat this game! LOL!!

@blueinheaven: Blame fanboys who always act like noobs (serious or not, don't know). "Lol PC spreadsheets. No one has time for micromanagement. I play games for fun through mah couch and have cinematiczzz experience".
