[QUOTE="fabz_95"][QUOTE="Great_Ragnarok"][QUOTE="omgimba"] Wait, games such as SMG, NMH and MP3 can 't be compared too games such as Bioshock?
There is something awfully wrong with that..
What exactly does these games lack?
Danm_999
smg is kiddish platformer(fair enough)
NMH is an action/adventure with little depth.
and MP3 is actually good.
but one good shooter isn't enough imo.
in the other three alternatives theres much more to do after u finish one game. each genre is well covered.
If you mean its kiddish in the way theres no blood, sex or violence then yeah its kiddish, but there are many hardcore and casual gamers who own the game and many adults
Heck it even got GOTY
And just because its kiddish doesn't mean its good?
It should say " smg is a kiddish yet amazing platformer (fair enough)"
I'd say the issue is not so much content, but theme seperating many Wii games from non-Wii games. You can also really talk about Wii games in much more general terms because most of the worthy ones come from a single developer and the studios it controls.
But anyway Bioshock (though it really just lifts a lot from System Shock 2) tries to do something that neither MP3, SMG or NMH tries to do.
It strives to be more than just fun, it tries to make you think as you play (which, if your the right sort of gamer, makes things even more fun).
Without being too pretentious, Bioshock (really SS2) is a game that's trying to transform the medium by ascension. Nintendo's strategy alternatively is descension (not necessarily negative mind you), creating appeal by making things simpler and more accessible.
Actually, you don't have to think that much in Bioshock. You can finish the game just rushing, and, if you are killed, come back to the chambers and then rush again. The game would have been so much better without that chambers.
Also, fighting against any boss of any Metroid Prime on Hard... that's what I call thinking as you play...
