Those are the only images of the low-res models I ever see. Why? They are fake. Those are LOD models. They are pictures of standard cars in the far distance. The images are zoomed in and cropped.

Those look very nice. I haven't played Forza 4, but I had fun messing around with the photo editor in GT5, they look abut the same quality. I don't even remember this feature being in GT3 or GT4, but if it was it wasn't as much fun to play around with back then. Now that the photos are *almost* indistuinguishable from real it makes it alot more fun!

GT5's looks way better, though I will give points for Forza's consistency

@Peredith thats GT5 but its LOD models that lems are trying to use as arguements against it despite its better lighting as we've seen through the topic.

Also to all the cows saying look at these standard models they look good, sorry but that suzuki concept still makes it blatantly obvious they arent as well modeled.

In my defense: I posted them just to piss off that Nuck guy, he's a douche.

I have and love both games but GT5's photomode is more in depth and overall better with the final result. There are some tutorials on GTplanet that can make your cars look 100% real. Forza 4's is much improved but there's still something 'plastic-ey' about the cars. Its all good though...

DX9 is high mode only, not very high

maybe in DX10. however in DX9 mode I get 60fps ;) . And no one cares about DX10, it was a performance hog with very little improvement

Its a standard model but a lower res swap in LOD model pretty sure it was pretty much dismissed ages ago when gt5 lanched.

Gran Turismo 5 definitely looks better in that comparison. Forza 4 still looks awesome though

And me, we put down good arguements but to be honest from memory i just think your a bit of a blind fanboy.

Also might be wise to crack out Forza 4 since you seem to have still not played it.Photo mode's available for every car, Autovista is really just glorified car tour with Jezza thrown in for a good chuckle.

Also, yes. Forza 4's photomode pictures are AMAZING. I especially love the Big Shot mode. Excellent for making desktop wallpapers.

Sorry but I have to disagree on that. GT5's premium models are indeed incredible but I've not seen one that "blows away" Forza 4's models. Better? Maybe, but the difference is marginal, at best, especially compared to the Autovista models, which are better than anything I've seen in GT5.

Plus, Forza has the consistency that GT5 can't hope to match. Forza is the more complete package with its superior environments and the like. But I'll let my own pictures do the talking.

There were much better Forza generated pictures in this thread from the OP, and some of the best GT5 ones already posted do blow them away IMO. Although in general many of them look great, the models in GT5 do seem much better, and then GT5 photo mode seems to have more robust features . The fun stuff in GT5 is that you can actually mess with the camera settings, to add bokeh, focal lenght, shutter speed/exposure time, etc. I'm not an expert in photography (or even a novice) by any means, but still fun to mess around with the technical aspects and see how it effects the photos to make them look more artistic.

I don't see any pictures that look nearly as advanced as the best GT5 images. They all seem pretty plain/flat for some reason, so maybe technically the offer those features, but they don't seem to be implemented nearly as effectively/realistically.

I did notice in the OP that there is a nice shot of the interior view, whereas in GT5 it's almost impossible to get good angles to shoot the interiors. Obviously only the premium cars have great interior modeling, but it's still hard to get at them for photo mode. You also can't open under the hood in GT5, so I would say more than 90% probably don't have engines. The only ones that do is where the engine is open (like a rear engine ferrari where you can see it through the glass).

The paint looks like it was done by Maaco. The base is flat and the clear coat just looks so cheap. Looks like, well, plastic. And I don't see any blend going on in that picture (there should be, given the lighting situation). In Forza, the depth of the shine is the same no matter what lighting situation the car is in. Very unrealistic.

Makes me want to get to playing Spec 2.0 just to get more cars to play with in Photo Mode. :lol:
