[QUOTE="Ironbash"][QUOTE="Nuck81"]Again, you fail to do research before spouting numbers and statements off the top of your head...... When will you learn?Nuck81
It's kind of obvious that standard cars do not have an engine let alone an interior view. That's NOT pulling numbers out of my head but of the game itself. Also its a shame that 4/33 rally cars are premium

What does that have to do with Photomode? What do Rally Cars have to do with Photomode? Why are you trying to hijack the thread in another direction? Because you lost it's original intent?

Is it possible for one to hijack their own thread? I think these GT5 images look better, but I'm not sure he's in the wrong here as far as what he's arguing in his own thread ;)

Firstly, because standard cars do not have an engine or interior view, the LOD they have when photos are taken is already less than that of a premium or forza model. This was a statement against one poster who said that GT5 has more detailed cars. Why would I Hijack my own thread by stating this? All that rally statement was is that I'd like to see more rally photos taken not of the Subaru or Ford Focus in GTplanet. Sorry for making myself not clear.

Keep in mind that those INTERIOR GT5 pics are not doctored or anything, those are from IN GAME Premium cars using photomode. Its not some speciality Autovista type thing. Just clearing that up...

And you can only take those pictures (except those with open cockpits, obviously) in the photo travel mode, which is very much like Autovista in itself and not during an actual race.

[QUOTE="Ironbash"][QUOTE="Nuck81"] So you've been demolished in this thread and now you're trying to save face by attacking other posters directly? Again you don't have to play Forza too look at Pictures in PHOTOMODE (which is what you created this thread for, to claim Forza has the best PHOTOMODE) to see which pictures look better. I have NEVER once claimed that Forza is a bad game, or even made a SINGLE comment on how it plays or drives. I've never played it so I won't make comments on it's gameplay. Check my post history, if you find one where I talk about how Forza PLAYS or DRIVES. I'll never post in one of your threads again... As it is, you lost this thread when the first GT5 pics started showing up. Go ahead and admit it, you'll feel better about yourself....Nuck81

I am not ashamed. I know GT5 can make better photos, because I've played both games unlike some people. I have not been demolished because I never hurled abuse against ANYONE who posted good GT5 photos, I have made logical sense and appreciate the fact that the people who posted GT5 pics like Rikusaki know what they are talking about. Also your biggest mistake of them all was this statement " what you created this thread for, to claim Forza has the best PHOTOMODE"

Does Forza 4 produce the most realistic car photos in a game? [not for 56k]

You're answer is NO, it does not

You played 10% of GT5. That is not even enough to get into the upper level races or even drive the upper level cars. You lied when you said you had 240 hrs into GT5. BUSTED. Just bow out while you can.

Lol what? Look at that Photo, 240 game days played (Roughly an hour for each day). My profile appears small because I focused on playing seasonal events etc. . I've owned almost every good car in the Game, from the Xanavi Nismo GT-R (the best Nissan), The 458 Italia (My favourite Ferrari), The Audi R8 FSI 5.2 (favourite Audi) , the Red bull x2010, Aston martin DB9, The Veyron, the Formula Gran turismo, The camaro SS '10, the Citroen by GT, the C4 WRC '08 , the Ford GT40 and the list goes on. The point is i played this game enough to get a lasting impression. All I was missing was the F2007/F2010 cars. I really would like to get back into Gt5, but now that I moved on, I'm afraid I can't.

And the Autovista cars are better modeled than the rest of Forza. So you are now trying to compare Autovista to Standard Cars in GT5? Sad thing is in Photomode the Standard cars in GT5 can look just as good as Forza. Take an Autovista Car and run a race. During the Race Replay pause the game and take pictures from it. That's where I got my personal Standard Car Photo's, lets see how much better the Forza Caterham looks compared to the GT5 one? Take shots at Nurburgring of a FORZA Caterham and post them. Can a Forza Caterham beat a Standard Caterham? You up to the challenge?

So So So sad. A game day in GT5 passes anytime you load a track or start a new race. You can can advance a gameday in GT5 just by going to a track and backing out. Also if you race a short race and immediately start the same race over another game day passes for each race. I can get 240 days in two hours if I wanted.

Those are far from the best cars in the game, but that's a matter of opinion I guess.

You only had 50 cars, you barely scratched the surface. You accomplished what you can accomplish in a weekend rental.

What? Its nothing like autovista. Those cars are the same models used when running a track. The only difference is you can get close enough to 'bug' the camera and get inside the car.

I can Honestly tell you, I have played this game at least over 50 hours. At least. I doubt you could drive 1,700 miles in one weekend and get to 27 A and 20 B spec. Those 50 cars were also the highlights of Gt5. I don't see why you have to argue to get your point across.

Forza Photomode looks fantastic but I think GT 5 spanks it. Polyphony's lighting is superior.

foxhound_fox
Indeed. But FM4 is a MASSIVE step up from FM3. And by the time GT6 comes out, We'll probably have FM7 or 8. And Turn 10 will probably surpass PD with FM5.

I hope not :? ... There's such a thing as too much of a good thing, I really don't need a new racing sim every two years. I'm back to playing FM2 cause I've yet to complete it all.

I have over 5,000 miles on a single Golf MkV. And I doubt you got EVERY highlight car in GT5. Did you drive a Chapparaal 2J? A Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2? Toyota Minolta? BMW Mclaren F1 LM Racecar? Puegeot 908 HDI? Clio Renault Sport Trophy car? Golf Mk IV R32? Original Fiat 500? I can go on for 100's of cars want me too?

Okay, that's just not true at all. I remember when you played that BS by comparing Forza 4's Veyron to GT5's. It wasn't true then and it isn't true now. GT5's standard cars are nowhere near as good as Forza 4's cars. And I see you're still using the Caterham as your poster boy when Forza 4 doesn't have that car. Well, how about we try a car that's in both games, just to be fair. Try getting in close on the Toyota Supra RZ in GT5 and snapping a picture on Suzuka and I'll do the same in Forza 4 and we'll see which one looks better.

Forza 4 photomode is nice but has nothing on GT5 photomode unfortunately, since I prefer taking photos in Forza 4.

Those photos look impressive! I always like glossy-reflective-car surfaces, they just look phenomenal.

Here are my pics. Took them today, all three are standard cars.

No special modes, no special lenses, no exposure or nonsense, I ran one lap, went to replay, pointed the camera and shot pictures. Will any Forza kids man up and do the same? Will you shoot your own pictures today, of the same three cars that are in Forza 4? Or will you make excuses, or better yet scour the internet for pics to cherry pick from?

Toyata Supra

RenaultSport Clio

Pontiac Solstice

Suzuka Race Course

Man up!!

How about these PS2 cars? Will the Forza kids take my challenge? I expect excuses, SHOW ME RESULTS!!

Sorry I missed this the first time through. I'm not out to prove GT5 is the best driving game ever. It's not even my favorite Racing game on PS3, although it is the most accessible and has the most cars, so I play it more. It's kind of like Pokemon for me. I love driving the cars, and each one feels so unique that I got to catch them all. I get aggravated at the mindless fanboy trolling of GT5. Week after Week the same silly pictures get put up about how "bad" the standard cars look, despite them being debunked over a year ago, and the game has changed so much in the last year with the updates (another significant update is due today) that the people that played it for a few days when it first came out and then continue to bash it and post lame pictures just look silly. Most of the reviewers of the game played it less than you did, which is why you never see any of the upper level cars or races in the reviews, and it's not the same game that it was directly after release. The Standard cars are a non issue. DURING A RACE, While you are driving, it is darn near impossible to tell the difference between a standard car and a premium. GT5's lighting and resolution are that good. Do the Standard cars hold up as well during Photo mode? Not quite but they still look pretty good, and with the right lighting they can look just as Photorealistic as any other car in GT5 or Forza.

The people here can argue all night long about which ones are better. They all look great to me.

[QUOTE="Nuck81"][QUOTE="Ironbash"] Indeed, I have not played the game as thoroughly as you nor gotten as many of the most important cars. So I have not gone to grind or be as dedicated as you are in this game. You are a superior GT5 player and have more experience. Yes I know GT5 is also a superior driving simulator. (Keep in mind though, the time it takes to get a games impression while playing varies immensely between people) But then your attempt to dominate has made you wander far off the path of topic as well as appear hostile. Why don't you take a chill pill and contribute sensibly like everyone else? Is it that important to you to prove that GT5 is the best driving game ever? If I make negative or superficial comments, why don't you point out my mistakes instead of getting fierce? Why can we not reconcile and and make a compromise? Is it that difficult?

I understand. The one thing that put me off GT5 was the lack of a cockpit view. I mean I just expect that nowadays, and it worked well in games like Dirt 3 and shift 2. I'll try and get some pics for you to check in a moment. Pretty late though in the UK, so check back tommorow if you want them.

isnt it sad when consoles bullshots and photo modes cant even beat PC in realtime? especially since GTA4 is an open world game aswell makes it even more sad

HaloinventedFPS

Isn't it sad when you are compaing a heavily modded game on high end 2011 hardware to technology from 2006?

isnt it sad when modded GTA4 runs on PC's from 2007?

high end 2011 hardware... lol, go back to Xbox kiddy

Your name  Plus your images were seriously bad and you failed pretty hard. Oh and yes Forza 4 does look unbelievably good, glad it got the awards.

Well first off, I asked for the Toyota Supra RZ. Not the 2.0 GT. I also asked you to get in close. Nice job dodging both of those requests.

Anyway, here's the Supra RZ on Suzuka from Forza 4. I dare anyone to take a picture in GT5 on the same track of the same car and say it looks better than Forza 4.

Supra RZ1

Supra RZ2

Supra RZ3

Oh and as a bonus, here's a shot of the interior. Try replicating that in GT5. :)

PC sims these days are all about the tyre models. Why can't we have a sim that's all about the cars?! PC gamers like pretty things too :(

Why are you asking for one specific car and one specific track? This thread is about which one produces better photos and quite frankly what has been shown for GT5 blows away what has been shown for Forza 4, your car there still looks cartoonish for me.

Because he asked for the Caterham, a car that isn't in Forza 4, to be shot on the Nurburgring. Turnabout is fair play.

Second, given your posting history, I'm not shocked you think that way. In other shocking news, the sky is blue.

Ok to the first That Gt5 has better car models when in photomode is basically an accepted fact not just cows. It is as accepted as Forza 4 being graphically more consistent. Why do lems find it so hard to accept something like that? The pictures speak for themselves.

[QUOTE="heretrix"]Photomode. I have played both games extensively and GT5's photomode IS superior. The game is different however, where I would give the nod to Forza simply for it's consistency.BUT-GT 5's premium car models are astounding and they blow awayForza 4's car models.Rikusaki

Sorry but I have to disagree on that. GT5's premium models are indeed incredible but I've not seen one that "blows away" Forza 4's models. Better? Maybe, but the difference is marginal, at best, especially compared to the Autovista models, which are better than anything I've seen in GT5.

Plus, Forza has the consistency that GT5 can't hope to match. Forza is the more complete package with its superior environments and the like. But I'll let my own pictures do the talking.

Supra

The paint looks like it was done by Maaco. The base is flat and the clear coat just looks so cheap. Looks like, well, plastic. And I don't see any blend going on in that picture (there should be, given the lighting situation). In Forza, the depth of the shine is the same no matter what lighting situation the car is in. Very unrealistic.

This is how it's done:

what are your specs and are you using icenhancer 3.5?

HaloinventedFPS

AMD Phenom II 1055T

XFX HD5870 OC

12GB DDRIII 1866MHz memory

AMD Phenom II 1055T is from 2008 and it sucks

Intel's 2.8gz quadcore from early 2007 stomps on it

5870 is from 2008 aswell and it was always med-end, maybe even low end

12gb of ram... lol how useless

5870 was released in 2010 and it's raw power only second to 6970 in ATI's arsenal,...just so you know. even thought I'm a high end I7 and Nvidia card owner,

Back to topic, IMO GT5 is the most photo realistic car game in the world and then forza4

I did the best I could with what I had. And the Supra pics you produced don't look any better than the ones I took of the Standard cars. The First and Third Pics look fake as all get out. No Lighting, no reflections, plasticy. They literally look like photoshopped cutouts. Why do the fog lights in the front of the car look like they are floating in air?

I also named and produced two other cars that are in both Forza and Gt5. Where are those pics? Nice job dodging both of those requests.

How do I know the ones of the Toyota are pics you took?

Where are your pics of the Renaultsport Clio and the Pontiac Solstice?

Probably because they DO look like they are floating in air, white car are notorious for having little reflection when the reflection in question is from a light sky.. You know basic colouring that when you put light colours on white you get.... white!

You didn't get in close, as I asked. Combined with how small the pics are, the lack of detail present in the Standard cars is nearly mitigated. Thing is, I KNEW you'd try something like that, which is exactly why I asked you to get in close. Hell, one of your pictures is obscured by tire smoke for f***s sake!

Honestly, the lack of detail present in the track (the Forza version of Suzuka looks MUCH better) combined with the somewhat overblown lighting on some of those cars makes the pictures look pretty damn fake to me but whatever.

The Pontiac and Renault Clio pics are coming. Don't you worry. Though I will have to substitute the Solstice for the Solstice GXP in Forza 4 since the standard Solstice isn't in Forza 4.

Forza 4 does produce some great looking car photos. One thing about GT5 doesn't it know about this thing called car polish. Every car looks like it has a matte finish.

Too bad that in realtime Forza 4 destroys GT5 in graphics. Only thing that GT5 has is photo mode because of the better lighting post processing.
