Dragon Quest XI announced!! PS4 And 3DS!!..and NX?

I'd do it all- like I said, I have some catching up to do (only Level 9, I think), plus I need to actually purchase the expansions, but that's no biggie if there's an assured group of people for me to play with.

Getting back on topic, what did you guys think of DQ Builders? I don't have any exp with Minecraft so I don't know how this game will be in that sense, but the rpg elements really make me think it'll be good.

Never said JRPGs don't exist and I don't give two flying fucks about how many JRPGs are avilable on 900pStation or 720pBox. The fact of the matter is JRPGs sucks donkey balls and that's the truth. Oh and in case you were talking about a point that JRPGs are only available on 900pStation. I'm pretty sure many have already made their way to PC and many will in the future. I would have access to that because unlike you think I don't game on consoles.

I just recently got the Dragon Quest V for DS, haven't had that much time to play it, but i'll soon find out what's the deal with this franchise to see if the hype for this new game is worth it.

I really hope people buy DQ heroes. Otherwise SE will probably not localize for the west. DQ heroes looks like a great game and if I can't afford much come October that will be the only game I get.

@finalstar2007: yeah , i am.in the same boat, but i am going to buy dq heroes. i still.haven't finished disgaea 4 and i am almost done tales of hearts r, but i have symphonia chronicles, graces f and xillia 2 all im my backlog. Xillia 1 i stopped playing but am at least 40 hours into it for the witcher 3.

In other words i can afford to wait, but dq heroes looks amazing and I love mouso games, and dq, so its a day 1 purchase.

Dragon warrior 1 was my first rpg , back in 1987 and i will buy every one that i can. It ushered in a love of rpgs and led me to both pc rpgs and console(jrpg) rpgs. I owe a lot of great gaming to dragon quest.

PS4 version is highly likely i mean there is no way that they would make a game that look THAT good and that massive without the intention of releasing it outside of Japan and there is no way that Sony wouldnt want to have it brought to the PS4 but as of right all SE said that they will consider it like they do with any other DQ game.

Don't speak Japanese so I couldn't tell you what was said. :P They played stage demos for both and all I could tell from those were that they both have their own distinct visual styles. PS4 version has very nice scale to it--the castle walls were as high as sky scrapers, and nice clean graphics and a landscape with lots of hills and low valleys with lush forests. The 3DS version was super cute with cell shaded type graphics and a lot of detail for a handheld game.

I'll probably end up getting both versions. In the meantime I still haven't touched DQIX.

@finalstar2007: Nintendo published DQ IX in the west so its not a problem bothversions will be localized 100% even if SE didn't do it no publisher is stupid enough to not localize a main DQgame while DQ is not as popular as FF in the west but still both DQ VIII and IX sold more tham 1mil copies on ps2 and DS in the west.

It's great that it's coming out for the PS4 and 3DS. so far the PS4 version looks like DQ VIII while the 3DS version looks more like the classic games and it's cool that it is in 3D and classic 2D 16 bit styles. I hope they come to the West. Anyways if they do and I'm not interested in buying a PS4 then I would try out the 3DS version then.

The xbox is less and less relevant every day. hashtag halo/gears/forza/fable vs a true game line up.

I'm really liking the 3D and 2D concept on the 3ds, really neat idea.

The PS4 and 3DS versions are being made by separate devs, and while they will share the same basic story they aren't going to be the same game.

Whenever you are feeling it I'd say grab a copy of V or VIII (though you can't really go wrong with any) for any system you can and give em a shot!

This is the problem with bias gaming in countries like Japan. They don't release their popular games on Western gaming systems like the Xbox.

Halo 5 is going to the best FPS game in years. It still has Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts3.

@xhawk27: I feel for Xbox, but they have to fight for it. Dragon Quest is not an easy game to get, they are very smart with how they use their franchise, they dont like to take risks. Not even PS3 got a Dragon Quest game, and they wouldnt bring Dragon Quest X to America even though it was on the highly popular Wii. They have to stay dedicated to those who support them, and Japanese people support them every single time, so its a must they focus on them. This is where Xbox will have a problem, but they can get the game later after it comes to America. Same for PC, after and if it does good in America, it will get ported to other systems i think.

Yum, another top game coming out for my PS4. Obviously skipped DQX because MMO but looking forward to a single player one. Don't play many JRPGs but DQVIII was awesome.
