Dragon Quest XI announced!! PS4 And 3DS!!..and NX?

The 3DS version is being developed separately by a different team so i dont think we need to worry about it holding the PS4 version.. i think lol

PS4 version looked amazing while 3DS going more of a retro look 2D

The 3ds version will be completly different game developed by a third party studio. I mean it was stated that the PS4 version of this game will be running on the Unreal Engine 4, there is no way that a 3ds game could use that.

Yeah I like it, I wonder if it's open world.

For the 3DS version:

If the player uses the analog slidepad, 3D battles will initiate and the battles on the field will be symbol encounters (you see the enemies and can avoid them), if you use the d-pad, battles will be in 2D and they will be random encounters.

Im really impressed with Square enix. They currently have announced for home consoles:

- Final Fantasy XV

- Kingdom Hearts 3

- Nier sequel

- Final Fantasy VII Remake

- Dragon Quest XI

Could it be that they truly learned from their mistakes in the past?

Not necessarily that bad so I would humor the idea of playing the PS4 version, personally didn't care for the DQ game on PS2, and that game was Level 5..then again I like the other stuff Level 5 does, so who knows.

Yep its the first game and the sequel, Sword Art Online: Lost Song which is the second game coming later i believe in October and the first game releasing today.

now the thing is if you pre-order the Second game from PSN later today once the store updates for $60 you'll get the first game on the spot for free no extra charge! but if you like getting the second game physically you can always get the first game for $20 and the second game later for $60.

I was wrong, the PS4 version is Orca, not Spike.

To be clear, the primary developers for all versions are still in house Enix teams- Toy Logic and Orca are just there to do the grunt work.

DQ's never really been relevant in the west, so Square might not see it as much of a value in that regard.

Where as Final Fantasy 15 and Kingdom Hearts 3 (assuming they are on Xbox One, not necessarily sure that they are), actually have a western audience because well Final Fantasy is and at the least was a major franchise, and Kingdom Hearts is Disney.

They might as well remove it, i wouldnt go near them after they refuse to release Dragon Quest XI on the best selling home console in Japan.

As much as I love Nintendo, I certainly won't be buying NX within its launch window like I did with Wii U. Gonna wait a bit and see if it sells better in the states first.

I mean I have really enjoyed my Wii U, but with Ninty putting out a new system so soon, and Wii U software almost non-existent these days, I'll have to be more cautious with their consoles in the future.

There might be a small chance of an X1 version coming out in the West only, highly unlikely but you never know.

I think Dragon Quest PS4 will sellout and cater to the West. 3DS version will try and cater to Japan, i wish them luck, but i think they have already failed. Im guessing PS4 version will launch in America same time 3DS version will launch in Japan.

Damn, that one image looks stunning. If it is truly coming to NX, I may pick this up right away on there as it would be a great starting game for the console.

@finalstar2007: I'd put the NX back in the title. It appears it has been confirmed but according to GAF speculation, they can't say anything concrete because Nintendo hasn't actually announced the system yet.

Its not that hard to do.

All the major websites i use have either completely removed the NX announcement (Gematsu) or simply added an updated version (dualshockers and Siliconera) so what i did was included it in the OP with a question mark as its not set in stone yet like the PS4 and 3DS versions :)

This line-up takes me back to the PS2-era, back when I was getting balls deep into video games as a hobby rather than a pastime.

It makes me giddy. I really hope this means Square-Enix is coming back to the forefront. They've already been redeeming themselves in my eyes with FFXIV: ARR (the best game I'm not playing), FF Type-0 HD is good, FFXV seems to be at the forefront, and now they've got this lineup.
