[QUOTE="GD1551"]Maybe thats because they have proven themselves as a legit reviewing source?Anyone else find it weird that when other publications give such early reviews people say bias, paid off etc etc but when edge does it it's legit? lmao

How are they any more legit than gamespot or IGN?

Edge is a magazine. They get games in before websites do.
Didn't stop people from saying that about OPM's 10/10 on AC.

[QUOTE="shinrabanshou"]So easier than GameSpot's to get a perfect score... EDGE uses the full 10 scale. GameSpot generally uses a 7-10 scale. I prefer EDGE.Except this is false. By EDGE standards.

They've given more 10's just this gen than GS has ever, while reviewing less games.
Never seen the appeal of the Zelda series but congrats Nintendo fans.racing1750Could care less about "Nintendo" as a whole... I bought a Wii just for Zelda games and Brawl. I hate the rest of the first party games.

How else would he be able to play The Legend of Zelda.
Because he obviously felt Zelda and smash were worth it?Rockman999It doesn't make that much sense to HATE Nintendo products, but buy them JUST for Smash and Zelda, which are NINTENDO franchises. I'm pretty sure the PS3 and 360 have a lot of games like Zelda.
Not to mention, just buying a system for one or two things isn't giving the console (or company) a fair chance at all.

There is 3D Dot Heroes and DarkSiders. I think that's it. Not really a large list to pick from. From what I have heard, neither are no where near Zelda.
No they do not. I've looked. The only game that comes close is 3D Dot Game Heroes and that plays like the NES Zelda.ActionRemixUm, I recall people saying Kameo: Elements of Power and Darksiders (Darksiders II is releasing soon, is it not?) Zelda clones. Not to mention, there is an HD Port of Beyond Good and Evil on PSN and XBLA. That's quite a bit of "Zelda like" games on HD systems (though I still don't see how Darksiders is anything like Zelda, but the majority does not agree with me there).

Darksiders is closest Zelda you can get if not buy a Zelda game. That same approach with go to a dungeon, get a new key equipment/weapon to solve puzzles in the dungeon and to the beat boss and get access to new areas in the open world.

Is Darksiders an adventure ? I though was an action title like GOW

The first half is Hack and Slash, the second half is a Zeldalike.

I fully agree with your first point, but, as far as EDGE reviewing fewer games, I hardly think that if they had reviewed more games they would have given more 10s. After all, there just aren't that many games that would be considered worthy of a 10/10. Even some of the games on their 10s list are disputable. I can't imagine any of the games they didn't review would have gotten close to a 10.

It is Zelda-like, but not as good at the formula as Zelda games are, and I still think it is very GOW-like. It lacks the charm, exploration, and cleverness in its boss fights and puzzles that Zelda has.

I wouldn't say a lot all I could think about is that 3D Dot Hero for PS3 and Darksider. Both are nothing compared to the real thing.

it's a hybrid. combat is reminescent of action games like GoW and DMC, but the game just screams "ZELDAAAAAA!!!" whenever you're not fighting, which is actually quite a large part of the time.[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"]"perfect 10" as in "perfect score, there is no way it could score higher".skrat_01Which still doesn't mean it is perfect at all. Love these wonderful generalisations cast because of a mere digit. love these wonderful nitpicks from people that can't leave a thread without complaining about something on the OP.

Not a single one, mate.
(Yeah Darksiders is obviously inspired by Zelda, and I even enjoyed it a lot, but its nowhere near the geniality of Zelda)
If wise, they should be bit cautious before gushing about this since it's very possible for GS to 8.5 this one. :P[QUOTE="SecretPolice"]

It wouldn't be the first time the 8.5ed a top notch game. As you can seeThe rest of the scores in EDGE #234:
Uncharted 3 [9]
Batman AC [9]
Dark Souls [9]
Rage [7]
Super Mario 3D Land [8]
Forza 4 [8]
Disgaea 4 [8]
Ratchet All 4 One [6]
Ace Combat [8]

I love Zelda, I really do, but I can't justify buying a system for one game. I'll probably just borrow someones wii, or maybe rent one for this game.
Still not a huge fan of motion controls, though.
glimpus
You should also get Xenoblade, it's a excellent game to play if you haven't yet. If you aren't experienced with the Wii library i could recommend about 15 - 20 games to get.
