I could list a bunch of AA (great games) but that isn't enough right? Every game must be AAA otherwise it's not worth playing

Not surprised at the obligatory "Edge isn't credible" statements... Incredibly far from the truth - long established and fantastically written magazine. Picked it up the other month and it's in a different class to some other publications (not saying all). Fair and well written reviews which place emphasis on the score (apparently they wanted to get rid of scores at one point for that very reason), serious articles on development and design.

Anyway, great score. Don't really have an interest in it as I don't personally own a Wii but I'm always going to welcome a potentially great video game :]

Ok, this is interestig I have to admit.

I knew all along that SKywrd Sword would be a masterpiece and one of, if not the best, zelda's ever made. Cannot wait to play my copy with my gold controller on launch :).

I'm excited for Skyward Sword and am really happy about the score. But I am a bit surprised about this coming form EDGE, they usually rate games really low. Seriously it's like they hate games....

As a child I would tolerate playing a little guy in a little green hat swinging his little sword. Not so much now a days. I have no issue with the children that this game is targeting. We already know what game will be crowned GOTY by the gaming community. As far as sales go, since when does any media popularity have a direct correlation to quality? Do you honestly believe that the best movies are those with the highest box office sales? Is the best music only what shows up on the top ten charts? Are the highest rated TV shows those with the highest production qualities?

If a game is a good game, it shouldn't matter what age you are when you play it. Many games appeal to a variety of age groups, and that is OK. Your maturity shouldn't feel threatened just because the characters don't look serious enough for your friends.

That's why GOW 3, Heavy Rain, and MGS4 got "bad" scores. After all, these games have a higher emphasis on cinema and graphics rather than gameplay. Not saying that's bad, but that's what they're about. Shift over to the 360 and you have games like L4D, and Halo which focus more on the gameplay aspect than the story or graphics. This would also explain their Bayonneta, SMG2 and Rockband 3 reviews.

Man, MGS4, GOW3 and Heavy rain got decent scores because they are decent games wrapped in a bunch of **** that makes games be movies and not games. The actual game portions were not that good. (OH NO I SAID THEY WEREN'T GOD). Who cares, I don't agree with every score ever and my opinion varies wildly a lot but its called understanding that opinion that doesn't = what you want or resemble yours in anyway =/= childish or wrong. Man this is stupid that this discussion is even taking place.
