Honestly; all i'd comment on here is that you have no idea how critics work. I explained this earlier but you either didn't read it or didn't get it. If you honestly think the youtube video would get the same critical response as QT's movie, i can only assume you've never read a film review in your life.

Take a film like Jackie Brown; one of the best films of the year when it came out, yet it got poor reviews despite being amazing. Why? Because people expect better from Tarantino. Critics had a higher standard. A movie could come out which isn't anywhere near as good but it would get the same critical respone because nobody expected greatness; reading both reviews however, would make it obvious to the reader that QT's film is the better picture.

Exactly the same case with EDGE.

The combat system is awesome, Mass Effect is infinately better than anything on the PS3, if anything is rushed it's your precious BS3, rushing towards the grave.

There's nothing wrong with the combat system. Just because you never played a Bioware game doesn't mean they have to change the gameplay to Gears of War.

You've got to respoct Edge for its insightful and non-conformist views. Their opinions are honest at least - I remember when they gave GTA3 a 6 or 7 and that got slammed for that. Got to respect a magazine that sticks to its beliefs and isn't swayed by mass expectation or the need to conform.

It's just some dudes opinion and seven is really not too bad a rating, the reviewer was probobaly pissed about the framerate and loading issues.

I'm torn on the issue, on one hand I want to put off playing it until a patch releases and it runs better, on the other hand what I played of it was really fun and I don't want to wait a month for the patch.

Published Reviewers aren't always right, and sometime thier dead wrong. But it only adds to a games/movies/cd's legacy. Name me one game that is critically acclaimed by gamers and not critics, you can name tons.

I can't say I've ever seen Edge magazine on newsstands near me, so I can't say I care about any of thier scores.

Because Borders imports magazines that's why. You can buy OXM US in the UK too. I'm simply saying; your comment isn't true. Edge is the best gaming magazine out there. Hence why it's the longest running ever. Dont compare it to crap like gamepro just because you disagree with a review score of a review you haven't even read.

this game is great, and the techissues are an easy over sight in an overall great and vary original game

As far as i'm concerned their credibility was vaporized when they gave Metroid Prime 3 7/10 and then gave Halo 3 10/10.TheLordHimself

Yep, just like they game Mario Galaxy a 10/10 and Mass Effect a 7/10, totally lost all credibility for me with those 2 ratings.

mass effect complaints (EDGE):

"youre let off the moral leash far less often than in KOTOR and most of the renegade choices leave you looking like a perpetulant brat."

"Almost everything of value is kept under lock and QTE...they're [QTE's]arguably over used"

These are just some of the picture tags so i havent even gone into the review itself yet. Maybe you should all actually read the review and see why they gave it a [7] rather than assuming that they have zero credibility. when in actuality you all are just jumping on a simple number claiming that a magazine is crap simply because they gave it the score you didnt want it to get.

EDGE write THE best reviews out there and anyone who actually reads the magazine would know this. Just because you lot never read the magazine does not give you the justification to claim a magazine has simply "lost its credibility".
