[QUOTE="ironcreed"][QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"] Did the score say you couldn't have a great time with it? They aren't trying to predict your personal enjoyment.Cherokee_Jack
Did I say that it did? I just gave my impressions of the game thus far and said, "scores be damned" because this is yet another game that flopped on Gamespot that I happen to be enjoying. It is not the first time, and certainly will not be the last either. Fact is, I don't care what a game scores as long as I enjoy it. Not that a 7.5 is an atrocious score anyway. However, you would not know any better by reading through System Wars.
Fair enough. I just feel that the obsession with scores in SW goes both ways. They're not any more or less than a measure of how much the reviewer recommends the game to the site's readership at large, and yet I still see people in threads about flopped games saying "I'm having a blast with it, yet another wrong score from Gamespot!" I thought that was the gist of your post, but I guess I misread it.No, I was not disputing the review at all. Tom is certainly entitled to his opinion. I was merely giving my impressions thus far and said "reviews be damned" because I am enjoying it, despite the fact that it is a 'flop' here in System Wars. But, yes, I would give it a higher score based on what I have played. The fact that I can run around in a chicken suit while terrorizing Albion on my way to becoming king is worth the price of admission alone for me, lol.
I love deep, challenging and complex games as well, but sometimes I just want to kick back, laugh and just have some plain old fun in a world with a great atmosphere. Fable delivers that for me and I could not be happier with this installment of the series. Now, someone who goes in expecting it to be a deep game probably will be disappointed, but that has never been what Fable is about for me anyway. *shrugs*
