G4 could still give it GOTY. They gave it to Fable 2 if I'm not mistaken, which was pretty dumb but whatever.

G4 gave Vanquish a 3/5 - They are not to be trusted lol They'll probably give Failble 3 a 5/5 for Super Awesome OMFGness!?!?! HOLDIN HANDS FTW!!! .... FLOP![QUOTE="FragTycoon"][QUOTE="Master_ShakeXXX"]

tell me, How many people actually have the game?
I don't like that 7.5 score but I'm liking it well more than 2.
im still looking forward to playing this game, of all the major gaming websites i follow, gamespot scored it by far the lowest (not surprised)
Seems like the consensus amongst critics is that it's a somewhat disappointing sequel. So that's disappointing.
Peter Molyneux needs to realise that people want conversation trees, menus, combat with depth and lots of other elements present in other RPGs. I love the Fable setting, but why do I want to run around farting on guards and dancing for cheers.
Having said that, Oblivion managed to get a 9.6 here...and it's probably just as shallow as a Fable game. The voice acting is probably a lot worse as well.

I was just trying to give the heart broken fans some reassurance. I myself find Fable as a series to be pretty damn shallow. Simple time-passers is all they are.
Surely it can't be hard to make a game fun. How can Peter forget the basics of an engaging action game? Instead he goes after some BS social interaction which will never work.
Just like Fable 2 where he hyped up the dog which ended up just showing you where treasure was.
Much like the first where he hyped up some persistent ageing system, which ended up only ageing you at certain points in the game
How's about we forget all that **** and just give the game some good combat?

True. Since i'm such an anti-social basement dweller the mere fact I can hold an NPC's hand makes Fable 3 a definate purchase ...
[QUOTE="dommeus"]i am sick of people banging on about Pete Molyneux, he hasn't hyped this game and hardly hyped Fable 2. can anyone find evidence of him over-hyping this game? also with the likes of simon peg, stephen fry, ben kingsley & john cleese doing the voice acting, perhaps you might re-think your last comment. Err...did you read my post? I'll re word it... Peter Molyneux needs to realise that RPG fans don't want a streamlined system. They buy RPGs for all the features common in them, like dialogue trees, loot, interaction, combat with depth etc. Then I went on to say that the fact Oblivion got 9.6 and is just as much of an RPG as Fable 3. And that the voice acting in it is A LOT WORSE than Fables...Peter Molyneux needs to realise that people want conversation trees, menus, combat with depth and lots of other elements present in other RPGs. He propper rimmed the social interactions like they where the next best thing in gaming. Just like he did with the dog in fable 2.
"You can see, as soon as you give the power [to the in game character] to reach out, touch and embrace, it makes a really big difference. It's so much more intimate than just pressing X – because you physically have to drag him there, it's so much more involving"
Turned out well eh?
Fable 2 - This is a hilarious one
"Obviously there was a lot that we wanted to do in Fable that had to be left out, but we're putting all of that in Fable 2. For instance, the game can monitor how often you turn to your left or right while walking, running, or just spinning in place. The gamer's subconscious decision to turn one way more than the other will be reflected in the character model as one side of his body becomes much more muscular than the other."
More -
"Players will be able to adjust the volume from 1 to 100 in increments of 1. You could play the game 100 times and have an entirely different experience."
Even the volume control was hyped!!! LOL. I'm not sure, i'd have to put Fable 2 on to see, but how did that turn out?

Anyway is anybody surprised? Jim Sterling gave it a 5.5 as well
And also Peter said this game needed to sell like 3 million copies right? Well I ain't gonna support him again with my money

Atleast Fable 1 was a fun little Fairy tale themed Action Adventure game with light RPG elements and some C&C.
Fable 2 was garbage and Fable 3 will probably be a POS as well.

thats fine, i wouldn't argue if he said those things, you have not linked though. also i still dont really see all those as hype? he is just passionate about the game, whats wrong with that?. my idea of hype is him coming out and saying, "this game will destroy other games, you will not need another game ever" that sort of stuff. and technically your character does morph in fable 2, though not because of you hanging to the left LOLHe did say those, and if you really likeI can link you too them? or this
If that's what you consider hype then very few games are ever hyped. Very few devs will come out and make such ridiculous claims, the worse he do have comes from MS employees like Peter and that geezer who made Ninety Nine Nights 3
And yes you do morph in Fable 2, just like Fable 1 and a plethora of other titles. The problem is Peter often Hypes something up as one thing, then on release we get something that is completely different and simplified.

Fable 1 was a good game. I really enjoyed it. Far more then Fable 2.
Edit: Wow, Fable 2 had tons of hype. A quick google search of "Fable 2 preview" really shows how full of hot air Peter is.

I watched the dev diaries. Fable is either a poor mans RPGs or an adventure game with poor mans combat, levelling and interaction. then simply "dont believe the hype" i have read precisely 1 preview article on fable 3 and watched the dev diaries, that is all. when i decide i want to go the pictures to watch a film , i dont watch more than 1 trailer, this is so i dont get so hyped up that i put myself at risk of being disapointed. likewise with holidays, i dont read up on everything there is to do, i wait, again it avoids disapointment from over excitement. same applies with the games i play.I don't read preview. Hell, i don't even read reviews.
Evern with no expectations, it still dissapointed.

i cant be bothered with this place anymore, the posts are ludicrous. i would rather blow torch my armpits.
I just think some of Peter Molyneux's recent 'evolutions' are falling flat. Supposed innovative features like the expression system and now this touchy-feely emotional system are little more than gimmicks to me. Working for money was good too, but got very tedious after a while. They shouldn't have removed gold rewards from quests. The lack of the ability to talk back to someone kind of removes me from the situation. When someone asks me to do something and I give them a thumbs down to say no...well it speaks for itself. I liked the dog though...i am sick of people banging on about Pete Molyneux, he hasn't hyped this game and hardly hyped Fable 2. can anyone find evidence of him over-hyping this game? also with the likes of simon peg, stephen fry, ben kingsley & john cleese doing the voice acting, perhaps you might re-think your last comment.[QUOTE="sts106mat"][QUOTE="dommeus"]

You can't be serious... he actually bragged about that stuff? Clearly the guy is in need of serious mental help.
I guess Peter Molyneux saying this game was going to be the best in the series was...
Just another Fable
Wasn't Fable 3 supposed to be some revolutionary game? I just watched the review. What the heck happened? The game looks like Fable 2. The animation is crap too.
