[QUOTE="_Cadbury_"] Too bad you're going to miss out on a ton of awesome games with that kind of mentality._Cadbury_

multiplayer cannot be aweome if its only 30 fps.

Is that a fact? Thats funny. I play BC2 on my ps3 and find it absolutely awesome. Same with uncharted 2.

Yes, it's a fact. 30 fps is extremely sluggish compared to 60fps. You really should upgrade to PC gaming and see the difference for yourself.

Stop it youre making us look bad. If you cant handle 30 FPS then stop watching movies/tv. My problem with console graphics is the lack of AA, especially when its being played on a largeish monitor. Im not saying all console games are like that, just a few of them, like MW2 is horrible on a large tv

To see the difference :| The whole argument I'm making is that there's a big difference and not about what frame rates you're happy with.

Why would I shell out on a decent enough computer so I could see a difference. My point is that im perfectly happy with my console games, even if they don't tend to have as decent graphics. They still look amazing to me and I don't want to feel repulsed by and miss out on all these awesome console games,as you seem to, because I don't feel they're good enough anymore.

The PC version does look better. Though to me it only looks slightly so. The 360 version looks really good aswell, I would rather stick with my 360 than pay for a top PC just for that difference.

natenation87

only the initial cost is more and is easily made up through cheaper games, massive steam sales, and free superior online. and the constant upgrade thing is a myth, my pc in my sig cost over $100 less than a ps3 in 208 and can still produce easily superior graphics to anything a console can do.

But the initial cost is alot more and then what about the graphics card? I mean if you want to run it at thehigh end you would need to upgrade every couple years wouldn't you?

I was looking up the requirements for some PC games like Napoleon: Total War and it would require me to buy a pretty expensive PC to be able to play it. If I did buy a PC for gaming it would be only for the exclusives like Napoleon (I really want to play that) I would still play everything else on my consoles.

as i said, a 500-600 computer is more than adequate to outdo a console, less if you shop well. My pc cost $425 in 2008, $150 less than a ps3. I have only upgraded the ram which was $35. $450 total less initial cost than a ps3, better quality graphics, cheaper games, more customization, more games, superior online, user made content.

also, almost all multiplats look superior on pc with varying levels of difference, some can be huge like mirrors edge. But then you got pc exlusives like crysis and shattered horizon that will take a crap on anything a console can output.

No, I haven't played every game on that list. But if I wanted to I could do so, and possibly enjoy them, because my expectations aren't extremely high. Where as if you were to try and play every PS3 game, you'd automatically feel disappointed with most of them because of how "the frame rate isn't good enough" or " the graphics aren't as good as pc" rather than judging the game on its substance and gameplay.

crysis, and this isnt even the best modding job i can do, when fully configured it looks even better.

As far as frame rate for mutiplayer goes, it's automatic. As far graphics go, it's not, unless it's mutiplat -- only the PC version will do for me.

Crysis is an impressive looking game but how much would you have to spend on a PC to get it to look like that, alot. Uncharted 2 is an impressive looking game aswell. Again for ME the difference is not enough for me to spend alot of money on a PC. I love console gaming.

But you don't know what PC $1200 will get you in Australia. I looked up what was the requirements and the one I think I would need will cost $1200. And I wasn't talking about maxing Napoleon I was talking about other games. I love console gaming, I like that I can have a 360 from 2005 and still play all the recent games with no problems.

I'm not going to argue over this, I've posted so many already, lol. Like I keep saying I love console gaming, if you don't then that's fine I don't care I don't put PCs down, so I don't get why PC gamers feel the need to put consoles down.

I'm going to guess by much less than ps3, you mean only the gfx card and maybe the CPU? Case, mobo, RAM, PSU, disc drive, HDD, gfx card, and CPU. If you got all these for under $300, where do you buy your stuff? Seriously, I'd like to know. Having put together a couple of PCs, PC gaming is an expensive hobby.

That pic came from my pc........again cost much less than ps3.

sky_rend
I'm going to guess by much less than ps3, you mean only the gfx card and maybe the CPU? Case, mobo, RAM, PSU, disc drive, HDD, gfx card, and CPU. If you got all these for under $300, where do you buy your stuff? Seriously, I'd like to know. Having put together a couple of PCs, PC gaming is an expensive hobby.

He probably means that it costs less than the 600$ launch PS3.

Ignorance really, I cant just walk into a store and pick up a gaming PC for anything near 200, I can a console. I'm a lazy consumer I go in see what I want pick a box up, pay for it, and walk out.

I wont lie to you. PURE IGNORANT LAZINESS.

[QUOTE="anshul89"]To see the difference :| The whole argument I'm making is that there's a big difference and not about what frame rates you're happy with.

anshul89

But like he said, why would he if he's happy?

It's the same for me, I'm more than happy, I don't need a PC to see the difference.

But the difference is huge and not "slight", like you said in the original post.

To you. The difference between BC2 on PC and consoles is noticeable, but having both, I don't feel an overwhelming urge to switch to the PC version. One person's "OMG Jesus just touched me" is another person's "meh".

There may be a huge difference, to me it only looks slight.

GioVela2010

But you can't even afford a decent PC -_-

How can you see the difference if you haven't even experienced it.

I agree with him, and my PC is more powerful than yours

I get a constant 60 fps in BC2. So it doesn't matter if your PC is more powerful.

I gave up a long career of PC gaming when the first Xbox came out.

1. Few of my friends game on PC

2. Expense

3. Getting obsessed with hardware and having to have the best kit which brings me on to..

4. Cost

5. Poor performance taking into account how powerful the hardware was

6. Poor support for certain types of games I liked and less people playing certain genres (i.e fighting)

7. More difficult to integrate into my regular AV setup (especially at that time, less so now)

8. Finding and joing up with friends for multiplayer much more streamlined on consoles

9. More patching, more hassle with drivers etc.

I know all pc gamers will try and down-play such a list but it honestly doesn't matter, I gamed on PC for YEARS so I know the pros and cons for both and I genuinely think console gaming is superior.

I love this kind of argument, where the poster talk as if he's the only person in the whole world that actually has gamed on more than one platform.

Eh i rarely play on PC but what the heck heres a few reasons why.

Laptop is mainly used for college work, doesnt have that great specs tbh. Also the fact its way more convenient having console gaming for my lifestyle. Also the fact i cant really sink money into a gaming rig.

Yeah. I'm perfectly happy playing BC2 @ 30fps. MW2 runs @ 60fps and it's not automatically more fun.

30 fps makes BC2 unplayable online, so yes, it's automatically more fun.

A few reasons... 1. Don't have the money for a high end PC 2. No exclusive games that interest me 3. Don't want to play games on a 20inch monitor! Added to that, i can't justify a PC over my PS3 and Xbox 360...

I game both on pc and ps3, but let me tell you what i do: When the game is good on pc, it plays well, no bugs, no crashes no problematic control such as accelarated aiming and no terrible optimization that requires tons of stuff to run. Then i get on the pc, but when it has that kinda stuff, of issues that have yet to be solved or various other problems or high requirments or smart stuff like ubisofts "amazing" drm that does not allow you to play wherever you want but wherever their servers are up...then i get he console version. Mostly its the stability / efficiency issue. When you buy the game on a console you know 100% it will work properly and you be up and playing in no time with nothing stopping you. On the other hand on the pc i have run into a lot of problems lately. Bad drivers causing framerate problems, i had to install older ones, crashes, failed to connect to ubisoft servers and other crap that made me just to play on my console isntead. Pc is not very stable latelly, it requires more stability. and simplicity.

How did you get that from what I said? I was just preparing for the innevitable assumptions that I'm a console kiddie that has no experience of pc gaming. I played on high-end kit for years and I can hand on heart say I do not miss it one little bit. I find a lot of pc gamers are more into the hardware than playing the actual games themselves.
