After spending a good chunk of tonight playing this game I have to say that nothing compares to this, while the weather in Driveclub can be more visually impressive, the way it handles is anything but. Turn 10 actually put in the man hours to configure the physics for all of this including visiting the tracks in the rain and laser scanning the elevations to gauge water accumulation, every aspect of it feels and behaves like a real car would with rain.
When you lose traction there is a real sense of panic and knowing that you're going into that wall 100 yards away and there's not a damn thing you can do to stop it, I've actually started cringing like I'm bracing for a real crash. The way the puddles drag your tires and manipulate your steering, it feels so authentic that you lose yourself in the mechanics of it, it just sucks you in.
The night races are not as impressive as the weather but it completely changes the dynamics of racing in this game, you're so used to one thing that turning off the lights completely alters the experience and I'm loving it.
This is the definitive console racing simulation, and honestly I'd say it will give the best PC simulations a run for their money, this is impressive stuff and I hope all of you get to check it out.
