This isn't even a career mode... this is a fancy way of obscuring the fact all these races are just individual events that you unlock little by little as you keep playing... Do I ever win a race and make the other races hate me more? Is there a points standing at the end of each year? Do you build a team and amass wealth to make a better racing team? This seems like more and more minigames while they cloud it off with progress bars and 'leveling up' so no one notices...raahsnavj
It seems like you didn't read any of the articles. What minigames do you refer to? I didn't see anything in them mentioning minigames at all.The Forza 3 career mode sounds more advanced than anything I've seen so far.

Miniraces... sorry, not minigames. See the problem I have with Forza is you can just keep spamming the same little 3 lap races over and over until you get the gold trophy. Forza 3 just makes it sound like the covered up the same mechanics with a more convoluted system to hide the fact really the races are just one big list you can do whenever.

Do you want a story mode or something? It's a racing game. It will consist of many races of various lengths and styles. What were you expecting? RPG elements?

IGN is really good at hyping games and we all know F3 will get from them 9-10 out of 10. just like any hyped game and they are plenty of them and once we gamers start playing it most of us are/will (but i hope not) disappointed happened way too many times this Gen

I'm glad they worked in the clutch but I don't see the need for a button. If your going to get the best times, your going to need that fanatec :DCouth_
And I have a question. I'm not a racer fan, so I may not be fully in tune, but I understand that some of the cars in the FM series have computer-controlled clutches by design (either an automatic clutch or a twin-clutch--and twin-clutches synchronize when you shift so there's no power lag). How would such cars (that never have clutch pedals) be handled? Would clutch be disabled?

picture of the M5? interior is kinda rough, Otherwise, Amazing looking!

I was hopeing they would cover the livery editer like part 1 implies, but it didn't ,poo.

Overall, looks like we get another solid, Amazing AAA game. Everything I can think of has been improved on. It's everything the perfect sequel should be.

Articles from people who have played the game, say that the disconnected from track feeling is completely gone, the physics are way smoother, and you get much better feedback. Such as this one:

It's just one of those things were you gotta realize it's a videogame, and that things need to be consistent for gameplay porpuses.

Racing games have never had accurate transmission models (case in point, you can use an automatic in any car), so I'm sure you'll have the same options (ie auto, manual or manual+clutch) regardless of your choice in car. That said, I would assume the automatics in cars with dual-clutch or sequential transmissions will be significantly faster than cars with "standard" automatics.

Yes, becouse the 2nd disc with bonus content, that you use to install once, is such a hassle.

Putting "IMO" at the end doesn't make your post any less ridiculous. The second disk is installed to the HDD. It's a non-issue.

The game works without the extra content, and an Arcade+60GB Live starter pack is more-or-less the same price as the Pro.

Even online? What if an online race requires the content? It sounds like the same scenario as those who don't buy the "optional" maps and extras and then find their friends did and are playing them and, as a result, they're locked out.

Yeah, I'm at half-mast just thinking about Forza 3. It's going to be a pain in the ass balancing my steering wheel on my lap when I finally get to play it.

zero_snake99

I'm actually thinking about doing this little project. Between Forza, GT 5 and Shift, I'm gonna use a steering wheel quite a bit.

Do this thing right here. I dare you =P

This is where a standard HDD would come in handy...

But that's the choice yea made if someone went the route of a core/arcade model...The consumer made that decision because of their requirements at the time......If those requirements have changed...then they need to upgrade...

Consumers that do not have an HDD will still be able to enjoy the game...but they will sacrifice some content because of that decision...Just like any DLC post purchase...

I applaud T10 for doing what they have done. ....Instead of charging for the content to be DLC.....They just included it ona disk...

I disagree. In my experience, Forza 2 has more realistic physics than GT5: Prologue and Forza 3's physics are said to be improved over Forza 2's.

Waiting atleast 15 minutes of install everytime you go to a diff part of the game isn't much better.

what? I said that GT5 will have better graphics and physics... Forza 3 looks good but imo GT5 will be looking better. Never said it would be better overall, that no one can tell yet... But the lighting looks more realistic, as do the colours. Plus theres 2x the cars per track, and theyd never allow that if the game didnt look better.

It's not the graphics they're getting you on--it's the physics. After all, we don't even know the extent of the damage modeling GT5 will incorporate in its final release while Forza has had damage modeling (even for street cars) from the outset.

Even to the graphics, and since I believe FM3's physics have more calculations to do, it would be harder for more than 8 cars. Also, the graphics in FM3 are a little better for me, from the car models to the backgrounds, or it could be the technical fact that forzas cars have so many polys, is to why I think that.

Forza 2 Commercial - eBaum's World Forum

That link shows you how many polys FM2 cars had

"A developer from Microsoft Game Studios has said that in the final stages of development, cars had 150,000–220,000 polygons per car and the most detailed models had been peaked at 250,000 polygons."

So 10X that is 1,500,000 to 2,500,000 lol.

Yeah ok fair enough we dont know that yet. well tbh its either going to be the saqme or better imo. With all the time put into this and lets be honest sony has much more riding on this than MS has rifing on forza 3...

I dunno, FM2's physics are better than GT5s in many reviews/hardcore sim guys opinion, and forza 3 only improves on that some guys even said,"I thought I was playing a PC sim!"

I think he said "WHAT?" in response to the "physics" comment.

I dunno I got GT5p recently and I think it plays better. Each car feels more different, and the steering feels better imo. But then its easier with feer cars and no customisation...

I think he said "WHAT?" in response to the "physics" comment.

I don't think 1.5M is possible in the current consoles.

Maybe they meant the whole scene is 10x because it's impossible for each car to have these amount of polygons to render in a steady frame rate but Im no expert on these things, we need some experts to fill us on this info.

I don't think even half of the performance of that could be achieved this gen, Im sure of it, we need confirmation from experts about my claims.

Please, Snake's character model is 10k-15k and Drakes's is between the 20k-25k polygons.

GT5p's is 200k each car and it looks slightly better than Forza 3's car models so if it was true we would have seen a major difference between the games, graphics wise.

GT5s models aren't really better, lighting yes.. But T10 will keep improving the game, we will see.

wow thats ALOT of polygons.

I don't know Im no expert so maybe they have some tricks to do that but it isn't showing compared to GT5's graphics.
